  2. I second that. LABS is one of the few libraries I go back to again and again for soundscapes. As one poster said a while back, they do one thing....but, boy do they do it well!

  3. Hello, Edit: 23 March 2019 I decided it could be helpful to include a list of upcoming tutorial videos and their links. The video below is the first video in the playlist, but if you are interested in a specific topic, check the following list for quick navigation. If there is no link for it yet, it means I haven't uploaded it. I can take requests, but keep in mind that I run another business on top of my actual Chernobyl Studios audio work, so if I like the idea, it'll get put on the list and I'll get to it when I get to it. I have a channel on YouTube that I created many years ago for creating Cakewalk SONAR Platinum tutorials. I constantly get questions, comments, and requests on those old videos I did years ago. I'm updating all of the Cakewalk videos I did for SONAR Platinum to Cakewalk by Bandlab. There are three videos currently online, with 4 more already scheduled to come out this week. Please share this playlist with anybody who is getting started with Cakewalk by Bandlab. I am starting from the very basics and will work all the way through mixing an entire song. It will take a few weeks, but it will be worth it. 😎

  5. Man you guys sure find obscure weird cases The problem only happens if you right click to select AND then choose the bounce to clip operation from the top level menu. The issue is that right click selection is selecting envelope nodes and not the clip itself. The bounce to clip operation should not be allowed in the UI under that state but it was not grayed out in the menu. When the command executes because no clip is actually selected it gets confused and ends up doing some default operation. I've fixed it so that a bounce is disallowed in this case. You should click on a clip to select it or do any kind of normal selection (not right click selection) before doing a bounce. FWIW right clicking a clip and choosing bounce to clip from the clips menu automatically selects the clip so most users would never see this issue.

  7. I've been working closely with Celemony to get to the bottom of some of the instability with detection not being triggered in CbB. We believe its fixed - Using a test build from them I can't repro the issue where it would hang on MIDI detection or not detect blobs after creating a region effect. I can't speak for release schedules but I believe good news is on the horizon. As to why it could appear to be fixed without any changes from us, this could be because race conditions behave in unpredictable ways. A subtle change in the timing of operations can mask the issue. This is likely why this issue has lingered on so long because it was hard to repro for some people.

  9. Thanks Larry. Another very nice sounding library. The LABS content continues to grow and is amazingly good for free.

  11. See? While any one of us may be full of it on a given point, collectively we're a frickin' encyclopedia. (Kirby, I gather you're old enough to know what an "encyclopedia" is. For the kids, it's like Google with less - but better - information.)

  13. Yes but you don't have to go fishing through 3 or 4 tabs. This is exactly what Screensets were made for. I leave Screenset #1 for basics This is where Screenset #2 takes place. This is where # 3 takes over. This way you can press numbers on the Keyboard 1-10 to cycle through smaller views. I've studied this Multidock Tab thing for many years trying to find the most productive way to view/work. the Screensets are a great tool. But we all work differently, so what might be good for me, might not work for you.

  14. I struggled to find it too - it ended up in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST3, so I just added this to my VST search path, re-scanned and it found it. I only tried the GFX in stand-alone mode, and it seemed pretty good - as you say, good not great. My only gripe was that the noise-gate is saved along with the patch, rather than a global setting. I've not tried it in an FX bin yet... [EDIT] - Just tried the VST3 in an FX bin, and it worked fine for me.

  21. Hmmm...you may be on to something! I use a LOT of external drives, and also, have three drives inside the computer (in addition to the C : drive) with drive letters assigned. I remember reading something on the web where someone had a problem similar to mine, and unplugging all their internal drives fixed the problems.

  23. Correct, the metronome is disabled during all bounce operations so the only way to capture it today is by recording it via an aux track.

  26. By default F11 is full screen mode, keyboard shortcut "M" brings up the marker dialog. The default shortcuts are documented here. The link is also available in the CbB Help menu.

  27. Thank you BitFlipper, It's taken me all day to copy, clone, cut and bounce on my Tascam. I didn't do anything with the already exported tracks. I actually backed em up for safe keeping. I've been do it mostly for the experience, but frustrated by the details. I've actually learned more today about both digital recording platforms than I knew the first five months. Next step will be to mix down some good stuff. Thanks everyone,

  28. P.S. I'm not sure if F11 is still the default keypress for inserting markers. That may have changed at some point in the past and I've just reset it to F11 on my machine because I'm an old codger who hates change. If that's the case, somebody will correct me, I'm sure.

  29. Quoting myself to specify: only 4 Mellotron presets. Three other new instruments (CZ, Synthi and Pigments) each add 20 or so, for a total of only 61 added presets from Analog Lab 3 to Analog Lab 4. Definitely less generous than the Analog Lab 3 upgrade was, adding over 1500 presets to the ones in Analog Lab 2, and including all presets of every V Collection 6 instrument. Those are still present in Analog Lab 4, but the newly added instruments from V Collection 7 are seriously underrepresented. On the bright side, more effects and better live / layer action.

  31. I'm really enjoying the Cakewalk DAW. I used an early versions 25 years, or so, but was too bizzy then to dedicate myself. Back then I think the DAW came in a box of 1/2 dozen or more CD's. Anyway: I only know all this info because of importing tracks into Cakewalk. It's definitely more user friendly than the recorder. Some additional questions I have . Most can be answered with a simple yes or no. Thank you in advance. 1) does the track first have to be mixed or mastered to be converted to MP3 format, or burned to a CD? 2) In a reply it was asked if I'd recorded the event on a Stereo track. I did not. I set five mic's the first day and assigned each to its own track. Combination condenser and directional. It was too many, so the 2nd day I used 3 condenser mic's on 3 tracks. Is recording live-in stereo a must, or just produce better results with CWBL? 3) Setting up From now to now, or start to end of project. My track is 3 hours long, but from 13m24s to 1h05m it's noise, or silence. When I tried the now to end feature up to 13m24s on track 1 it cleared the remaining track to end. Track 3 & 4 & 5 picked up @ 1h05m to the end. It's wierd, but just prior to 13m24s it sounded like someone bumped and knocked the mic over. Loud bang, and a few moments later all sound drops until 1h05m. I wonder if the mic falling and banging on stage may have caused some function of the machine to crash or something. Who knows... Last one: Does work flow require listening in real time to every project, or can I advance in track faster, and still be accurate? Grabbing the bar and stretching across screen seems slow, but is it a must? Well I just came across Navigator feature. Doesn't appear much faster though. I sure Hope all aren't getting irritated. Thanks,

  33. FWIW I use screensets to give me this sort of functionality. So for example, screenset 2 only has the Console View in the multidock, whereas screenset 3 has PRV and Event List. I think this is actually quicker than having to manually arrange the tabs to what you want, as you just press 2 for screenset 2, 3 for screenset 3 etc.

  35. I don't see how freezing a bus would be possible since it doesn't hold any audio data. Audio just passes through it so there is nothing (physical) to freeze. But I certainly understand the desire to freeze the processed audio. That's when Mark's alternative would come into play. I would use it for submixes. Kind regards, tecknot

  36. As the old Cakewalk forum is quickly falling into oblivion, I might grab the opportunity to repost a Rapture Pro related post which I created there in December 2017. Those of you that have seen my Gran Vista and Carbon themes for CbB might already suspect that I suffer from a serious case of graphical OCD, and in order to remove all doubts I’ll give you (ta-da) an updated and improved version of the old post here: [old_post] Yes, I know this is the Deals forum. But in case someone didn't know (and actually cares), it is possible to add your own custom graphics to the Rapture Pro or Rapture Session browser. This can be convenient if you want to have a more visually appealing structure in the browser for third party preset libraries. And of course if you've got Rapture Classic and/or Dimension Pro expansion packs and would like to give them dedicated slot images. It's just a matter of creating a png file in the format 193x87 pixels for each such library, place them in the respective program library root folder and name them exactly the same as the folder but with a .png extension. For instance, in the case of the fisound Universal 120 V2 sound bank mentioned above, after installation on a Windows system with Rapture Pro installed, the default program folders would be "C:\Cakewalk Content\Rapture Pro\Programs\Universal 120" and "C:\Cakewalk Content\Rapture Pro\Programs\Universal 120 v2". If you've also got the free bonus pack you can place it in a folder called "Universal 120 v2 Bonus". Your actual paths may differ, but you get the general idea. You would then create three png images called "Universal 120.png", "Universal 120 v2.png" (and in case you've got the bonus pack, "Universal 120 v2 Bonus.png)." Restart Rapture Pro and the images should turn up. Here's how it looks over at my place. Oh, and to make life a bit easier for anyone interested, here are my png files ready to be downloaded. Just right click and select "Save As..." (or whatever option your particular browser might offer). You would have to rename them following the instructions above though. [/old_post] Ok, old news, so what’s the update, you might ask. Well, considering the current thread it is of course a similar png file which I’ve made for Universal 120 vol. 3. Here it is, based on the original image found over at fisound. I hope that Chad doesn’t mind, otherwise just let me know and I’ll remove it. For instance, if you have Rapture Pro and installed the sound bank to the default library, you would place the image in “C:\Cakewalk Content\Rapture Pro\Programs\Universal 120 v3” and rename it “Universal 120 v3.png”.
