  2. I love Cakewalk, but whoever stands behind the decision of not publicly releasing basic information on future licenses & release time frame (season/year?)are just acting a bit distasteful and cruel. Most of us here remember 2017 very well. And also remember that it was said that Cakewalk will be free. I am pretty sure most of us stayed not because of the "free" factor... I see no benefit of keeping folks in the dark for so long. All it adds is repeated anxiety of 2017, especially when death of Cakewalk was announced some time ago in FAQ. I just hope it will be a Happy Death with reincarnation of shiny Sonar perpetual licenses available at fair prices. P.S. I recently installed my last Gibson Sonar version, everything is working fine.... A few bugs unfixed in that version do annoy me, but not to the point to be depressed or sign up for subscription. I am glad I have this plan "B" which should last for a few years if things go sour with BL.
  3. Unfortunately, I have credit with a chain that is going out of business. The biggest thing I think I'd like is MIDI keyboard ...so what works best Cakewalk/Sonar and possibly an DAW I may use. Basically meaning the most compatible with all DAWS. Polyphonic aftertouch seems like useful feature. But any feedback is appreciated. Also, what kind of "little" things for a studio might be a good grab? Thanks in advance.
  4. Karanyi has driven me away with their confusing product versions.
  5. It's 4-track stereo tape on my Sony TC-560

  9. Thanks Guys you are all too kind and Kevin cheers that Tele sound is a kit guitar €100,00 , plus €100,00 Tonerider pick ups , I don't know why but its my go- to guitar for the last couple of years or so , I feel i´m running out of steam a bit ...that said I´m working on a new one slowly and its a bit different but definitely 60`s 70`s style its where i feel comfortable once again thanks for your support ..Paul B
  10. Thanks for the suggestions, appreciated. Nope, no spinning drives left at least in terms of anything Cakewalk uses at all (external storage devices only, internal drives are both SSD). I was thinking fragmentation be consistently symptomatic with other drive-hungry applications and, moreover, have some consistency in terms of when/what Cakewalk is loading? Nothing seemingly relevant in Admin Events/nothing tied to when this happened again yesterday evening. Nothing I see unusual. Sorry, what sort of independent monitoring SW, to see which aspects in particular? Will try, especially to see if it works even though the system has plenty of standby right now, for example, thanks.
  11. I want my wife to look at me like Fleer watches reverbs.
  12. About the tastes, the colors, I prefer the FL Studio with free updates for life, although I must admit and be consistent in admitting that Bitwig is great and very easy and fun to use.
  13. I don’t believe us old timers are the market Bandlab is aiming for. I too am a user from Cakewalk’s beginnings. Hell, my guess is a large number of us that started with Cakewalk aren’t around anymore. But today’s market will accept subscriptions and that’s where Bandlab is focused IMO. I do think the original June 2023 announcement was a bit over enthusiastic but things do get delayed as the actual workload becomes clearer.
  14. Happy Birthday to both of you! Those damn birthdays are sneaky though, one you're young and virile and suddenly you're old and virile...

  16. CbB can be highly sensitive to the load in Standby Memory (that is not reflected in Active Load). Are you using spinning drive(s) and have you looked at fragmentation lately? What does Windows Event Viewer list in Admin Events when this happens/gets worse? Any unusual activities in background processes or network traffic? Have you used an independent system monitoring SW to see when/where it bogs down. Try Rammap.exe to clear Standby & Working Sets for emergency slowdowns.

  18. Eventide Blackhole Immersive Demo: Installed! Trying to decide if the $249.50 Crossgrade is worth it.
  19. I haven't watched this video in a while, but maybe it will help. From the YT description (where the times are section links: 00:00 - Intro 00:42 - MConvolutionEZ 02:15 - MConvolutionMB 05:25 - MReverb 08:17 - MTurboReverb 13:26 - MCharmverb 14:40 - Overview
  20. What's the difference between Melda's Turbo plugins and their non-Turbo counterparts? I can see MTurboReverb is £256 while MReverb is £33, so I'm guessing the Turbo variants are the 'deluxe' versions?
  21. Not trying to nitpick, but when I open Sonar and click Help>About Sonar The license for Sonar is labeled as :Lease I do have a membership to backstage pass. I will let others determine if a lease is a subscription or what not. I hope that there will be a non sub model offered at official release. I still have my "lifetime updates" invoice for the Gibson Sonar🤣
  22. So are saying the (membership fee) , which is basically a subscription that many have now is FREE? I was\am talking about what is happening NOW. IOW, the wait is because of all the bugs but selling "memberships to same software is OK? That's just weird imho! OK I will STOP posting about the "wait". I guess I see it different than others and yes, as I said before I have been with CW since the early 90's a the very least. Obviously I am somewhat alone in NOT choosing to defend the situation.
  23. No setting, especially, just Insert > Rewire Device > Notion, and choose to create the First Synth Audio Output. Then arm the track and record. If you can hear it playing, recording audio should work like any other synth. The only thing I can think is maybe you inserted it as a Simple Insturment track so the arming button is to record MIDI input, not audio. In that case, you either need to split the Instrument track and arm the Synth track or arm the audio side of the Insrument track via the Audio tab at the bottom of the Track Inspector.
  24. nah, pirates wouldn't buy it, most wouldn't try and sell it, they just wanna try it, that's why everyone does demos now bandlab are a social media focussed company, that's why they want your data/stats/etc, that's where the moolah is these days /respect
  25. You will have to pay for Sonar eventually. There is a remote possibility of a bare bones stripped down version that may be free or very inexpensive. In the meantime definitely download Waveform and try it out it’s free. Pro tools also has a free version that is worth having. Those are my top picks out of a half dozen other free DAWs.
  26. Yes you can blame the Pirates for why we no longer have the old simple system of serial numbers. This is why Bandlab put CbB on a activation system from day one. They knew what they were doing.
