Fair enough, i just don’t trust Realtek. I believe you’ll get better results with a « real » audio device. YMMV My Soundcraft 22MTK is all i need. Just saying ….. J

I don.t understand. If you have a « proper audio interface with ASIO drivers » , why bother using On board audio for midi and editing ?

Boss ME-80 Audio Driver Issue
Jeremy Oakes replied to thegaltieribrothers's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The only reason it shows up is because you’ve installed the USB driver and connected the unit to your PC/laptop via USB. If you don’t connect it then it won’t show up in CbB Instead go line out from the ME to an input on your Focusrite. Select that input in your recording track, arm it then record away. This is how i record guitar into CbB. J -

Cakewalk exits to Windows with no error
Jeremy Oakes replied to Terry Kelley's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I would say you answered yourself in the op - you probably have a plugin issue, maybe a 32bit or badly written 64 bit ? Going through them one by one should find the culprit. J -
I must be doing something wrong - it always works ok for me 😜😜😜 But really, a subscription ? Its free ! And its a refreshment for everyone after 6 months. But hey, great that you got it working ! J

Creating harmonies with melodyne from the main vocal
Jeremy Oakes replied to charles kasler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
No, its not. Its only destructive when you bounce the Melodyne region, for example, to clip. Here’s what i do. Using the Split tool i select the region i want Melodyne to open, open it up and correct/modify it. If all is ok, Press D to go back to track view and bounce to clip - that is the destructive part. if i am not happy with what i’ve done i simply press D to go to track view then use Cakewalk’s Undo function to back out of making the region - that is the non-destructive bit. However, it is good practice to duplicate the track just in case before using Melodyne and also, once you’re satisfied with the results, bounce the region to a clip. J -

Jeremy Oakes replied to BenJHayes's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
In Preferences - Audio make sure the Realtek Asio is de-selected (ie not ticked) and that only the Focusrite is selected (ticked) J -

Please Help-USB MIDI Device Troubleshooting
Jeremy Oakes replied to Guerilla Genus's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The Oxygen keyboard(s) are class compliant, they don’t need specific drivers, which maybe why this issue is around. i’ve had this happen, and still have it every now and again. The only thing i’ve found to do is to un-tick the device in Preferences, close Cakewalk, then start the app without turning on the keyboard. Close Cakewalk again then turn on the Oxygen and then fire up Cakewalk, re-tick in Prefs if necessary. Long winded i know, but it works, if anyone has a different solution i’m all ears. J -
Its free ? J

I upgraded many moons ago, never looked back. you.ll find some threads on the Computers part of this website about the same subject. One thing i do however is to automatically re-install the audio drivers (Focusrite and Soundcraft) just in case, The update from 10 to 11 is free anyway, if your PC can pass the MS mini specs. They have a tool that can help you check this. If you’re offered the update via Windows Update, then you’re good to go. J
