DeeringAmps
So is the Sonar “price of admission” the BandLab membership? If so I’ll convert my “3 days free” to a yearly membership. @Noel Borthwickinquiring minds want to know… t
pwal³
apparently you can pay for a "backstage pass" wtfti, maybe includes meet'n'greet?
John Vere
Last time I had a back stage pass I ended up lugging guitars and keyboards and helping the stage crew set up. By the time I got to the green room the food was all gone!! I guess if you purchase this it will get rid of the nag screen which for me after 30 minutes kept returning every 3 minutes.
Terry Kelley
The activation had two choices - 3 days for $15 or 12 months for $150 (a 16% discount!) I suspect Sonar will be “pay forever” software. But that’s not in stone yet. 2
pwal³
most "big" software is going to the "pay forever" model where they can

Terry Kelley
I wonder if the license will allow for more than one installation.

DeeringAmps
12 minutes ago, kitekrazy said: LOL, just LOL. What Terry didn't mention is the 3 days for $15 is a $15 a month recurring charge for membership in BandLab's Backstage Pass. It is NOT a fee to solely "unlock" Sonar. There's more included, its basically the paid BandLab membership. t

There so much speculation but little info when it comes to licensing. Everyone fears the sub model and I wonder how many subs it takes to justify them. When Waves tried the sub only model which I'm sure was a kneejerk decision have they recovered from it? Not from me. Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom was a bargain at 10$ a month but check the price now. People eventually leave subs. Edited March 5 by kitekrazy

John Vere
It was always a gentleman’s agreement. But don’t forget. Now they will be using a product manager and that might make things different.

There are plans for other purchase options but there isn't a known timeline just yet. Today you can get it monthly or get an annual BSP license upfront which is cheaper. 1
