  1. Thanks for listening and commenting spak. The classical guitar can be an expressive instrument in the right hands, but it takes listening very closely. I like alot of the symphonic instruments because they project so well.
  2. Andrew, Thanks for the thoughtful comments. They are kind of discordant, but I like brouwer's harmonic vocabulary, esp on guitar. His music is really popular with audiences. I think I'm going to try #3 with woodwinds.
  3. You definitely have a signature sound. Love your guitar *TONE*. Do you prefer instrumentals or do you like the sung songs equally well?
  4. This is another guitar piece but this time written by leo brouwer. It's from a set of beginner etudes that are really amazing and entertaining. I always heard brass, not sure why. It's hard to get good dynamics out of brass samples. This is another experiment. https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/etude-simples-2-brouwer
  5. Did you listen to alot of kinks growing up? This is really good douglas.
  6. Had flashbacks to a boat trip I took from Sarasota to Key West. Btw worth doing if you're ever down there. They were playing this kind of music. Who's cool cat joe?
  7. Mrs. Greenway has a great voice. Always loved that song
  8. I've always loved clouds. Ever seen John Constable's clouds? He's an english painter. Very relaxing!
  9. optimistic message. I love your style of composition where the words create the overall form (rather than vice versa). It reminds me of stage music, music for drama.

    WIP

Got a Dave Mason vibe (one of my faves). Nice use of harmony!
  11. unique assemblage of sounds at the beginning...the tempo changes do sound disconcerting at some points, but if this were at a club...the dancers would like the breaks. Nice one!
  12. so when a cyclops opens and closes his eye, is it a wink or a blink?

    Sunrise

Didn't sleep last night so looked here and was able to listen to your song as the sun came up.. It's a beaut here in PDX. Really cold though. Good one!
  14. Old Joad et al. Thanks for taking the time to listen to this *corny* piece. Hope y'all had an amazing turkey day!

    IN THE SUMMER

You've captured the feeling of a hot day in summer nicely. This is really great, you should sell to peter gabriel :D:D
  16. Paul, Amiller and Douglas thanks for the comments. I did make it a little longer. Not sure why I get obsessed over these little ditties. I heard Bapu is the same with little ditties.
  17. It's amazing how you key in on universal experiences. You're a great songwriter bjorn. *a keen observer*.
  18. So many beautiful layers in this. How on earth do you come up with all the details? Really great.
  19. Do what you feels best. With reverb one doesn't have to be as precise.
  20. Villancico de Navidad by Barrios. You can hear how slow my hands are now. But have a great Holiday season y'all.
  21. Nice chord progression, haven't heard that before. The words are very au courant viz me as I spend a lot of sleepless nights lately. The way the song builds in its orchestration is very professional; I'll bet I could learn alot about songwriting from you.
  22. +1 to loggins and messina. It sounded incredible streaming to my woofdales.
  23. wow, no prs birds! That picture looks familiar btw. Enjoyed the tune.
  24. This is proof that time is both a wave and a particle. Nice one wookie!
  25. What does Bajan Blue mean? Loved this. I liked the chick in the video, she looks fun.
