  1. Wow, that was simply beautiful, Kenny.
  2. I didn't get this email so I checked my account with BH and didn't see any mention of Payboo. Nothing on their website either. It's probably a hack since the message just doesn't sound like something from BH and anyway what the heck kind of name is Payboo?
  3. ramscapri, kakku and Paul Thanks for taking the time to comment Steve, I cringed when I listened to my voice on this song, but I sent it out anyway because it just wasn't getting any better. Probably should have tried a lower key to lose the whispers, but wouldn't have worked anyway. I can phrase words pretty well in text but in spoken words not so much and that becomes obvious in a recording. Anyway, I appreciate the comments about the quality of the song which means a lot to me.
  4. "Amalgam" seems to fit. Nice buildup at the beginning. I really like the groove starting ~0:30. Might be too many different instruments IMO. Kind of wish the phrase that begins ~2:35 were developed more - you could make a new song out of that. I like the song. Well done.
  5. Gary, that was just about perfect. Made me choke up a bit.
  6. Bill, thanks for listening and commenting. Lynn, thanks again for your input. It's a sad song with a well worn ending, but when it happens to you it becomes way more than just a cliche. I agree about the phrasing which is something I deal with in my everyday speech. Bit of a problem for me.
  7. Douglas Thanks. Good suggestion about vocal doubling. I'm going to give that a try on my current project.
  8. Sounds like the music during the opening credits of a creepy movie (might need more minor chords tho) I like how you set up the song with that steady bass and a different piano phrase every four measures. I listened to some of your other tracks on your site too. Good stuff!
  9. ChordPulse Pretty basic, but gets you in the ballpark IMO. http:// http://www.chordpulse.com/
  10. Kakku Not sure if I'd categorize this as EDM. Seems more a mixture of styles but that's ok. That melodic part that comes in at about 0:20 and other places seemed kind of familiar to me. Very good tune. I played it a few times and really got in to it.
  11. I'll second the other opinions. Sounds good to me. Don't think running the same Ozone preset a second time would change much anyway. Quite an honor to have your recorded guitar in the wedding.
  12. Looks like some guys having fun playing music but I'm sure there was a lot of work putting together the video. Sounds good especially the vocal.
  13. Can't say I'm a fan of metal or Mortal Kombat but I can see you have a promising music video here. The guitars sound good and the playing is impressive.

    Funk Cello

Mark I'm used to thinking Yo Yo Ma when I hear cello but you gave the instrument a new direction. Excellent performance and mix. I didn't think the song sounded too bassy at all.
  15. Very relaxing and mood lifting. I guess the only thing I would suggest is to bring out the strings more. They just sound a little thin to me. I really enjoyed listening to the song.
  16. Are We Through? Revised version Ancient history. The lyrics are close to what was said at that time but I may have embellished a bit. There might be some Melodyne artifacts in the vocal, but this is the best I could do. Thanks for listening.
  17. Lynn Really like all the playful accompanying sounds in the background. Kind of unusual melodic phrases that complement each other very well and stick in your head for a long time. Outstanding lyrics too and as usual your vocal performance is top notch. Well done!

    Are We Through?

I listened to the song again. Hated it. Took it down.

  20. kakku Yeah, very nice and interesting mixture of classical and pop (EDM?) styles. I liked the change up at ~2:30 and how that developed. Well done.

    Uganda - video

Douglas, Freddy, Ed D, Bob, kakku, Daryl Thanks much for the comments, esp for finding that the soundtrack fit the video! I kinda thought you like monkeys, Daryl.
  23. Freddy I think you've captured that traditional delta blues sound. Really liked that little guitar riff in the background and the lyrics (nicely sung!) exemplifies what someone like Mississippi John Hurt would have done. Best of all IMO is the harmonica, both the tune and the playing. Well done!
  24. Daryl The unmistakable sound of Daryl and the Staypress crew. A likable bouncy tune with a bit of humor, very nice. The mix seemed a little too much on the high end to me, but that could be the headphones I'm currently using.
  25. Steve Love the weeping synth in the background. On first listen it seemed to be the usual boy loses girl story, but then there's "obsession" and "her misery" and "I wanted more" so maybe the song is more about the woman leaving a bad relationship. Anyway, I like the song. You have a way of setting a mood with your music.
