About Me

  1. Run Bandlab Assistant to update Features & Enhancements Smart tool customization. The Smart tool can be customized in order to enable specific functions, including Move, Crop, Fade, Draw, and Comp. The Smart tool and Select tool have new icons. Centered Control Bar modules. Control Bar modules can be left-aligned, justified, or centered. Comping and Take lane enhancements. Freely assemble clips in track lanes either by recording or dragging and dropping from different sources. Configure the Smart Tool to disable comping features while editing audio on lanes and re-enable it when you are ready to start building a comp track. Copy/paste and drag drop enhancements, including full support for drag and drop of Take lanes between tracks, and improved drag drop preview to visually represent the final data. Help Module content for clips. In addition to a brief description of the clip type, the Help Module also lists common Smart tool gestures that are supported by each unique clip type. Selection markers in time ruler. The time ruler now shows draggable markers at either end of the time selection range. You can modify the start or end of the selection by dragging these markers or move the entire time selection by dragging the selection range bar. Loop and Punch marker enhancements. The time ruler now uses more intuitive mouse cursors for selection, loop, punch and marker drag bars and handles. The mouse cursor shows a letter to indicate which marker will be modified before you actually click the marker: S (Selection), L (Loop), P (Punch), and M (Marker). You can drag a Loop or Punch marker past its paired sibling marker in order to flip the range in the opposite direction. 2. I can confirm this. I have reverted back to CbB 2019.7 ER2 Build 65 (using a backup) and my projects can now open. I am holding off for now. I have lodged a support ticket with the Bakers.
  3. I can confirm this. I attempted to open many projects done in a previous build. Many would not open in CbB 2019.7 Build 70. The way it manifests is as follows: The project attempts the open but eventually CbB stops responding with the mouse displaying an hour glass. No error messages were displayed. Eventully I got the Program has stopped responding. I had to end the process using Task Manager. No dump file was generated. The Application event viewer yeilded an Exception code: 0xc0000005 error, Faulting module name: Cakewalk.exe, version: 25.7.0.70 I reverted to 2019.7 Early Release 2 (CbB 2019.7 Build 65 )and the projects were able to be opened. The way I reverted was as followed. I restored the C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core contents to the state in was Last Friday from my backup. After doing this, I ran CbB to confirm the actual resultant version in Help | About. For me this was now Early Release 1 (build 55) I edited the Windows registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Core and changed the ProductVersion value to 25.07.0.55. You need to do this, otherwise, the ER2 installer will not update. I am now on 2019.7 Early Release 2 and can open all previous projects. I am going to have to concur with the OP and hold off Build 70 until this can be resolved.
  4. Would the song been as bad if there wasn't a video? Through March 2019, “We Built This City” has more than 57 million views on YouTube. Someone is still listening. Take that, rock critics! Sight and sound are often deception. How many of the greatest bands have great videos?
  5. I just did and now NO existing projects will open. Program itself seems to start ok, but it totally freezes when I try to load any existing project!
  6. At least, my installation just told me an update was available. Early days, but up and running on 2019.07 here. Thanks, Bakers!
  7. EAP is over for 2019-07. Production release announcement was made over a hour ago. Make sure to install 25.07.0.70 before reporting issues through normal channels.
  8. I am not experiencing this with 2019.7 ER2 Does this happen with any instrument or a particular one?
  9. BTW, in one Avid folder, 5 of the 9 aaxplugins were put there automatically by NI on 6-9-2019 when I opted to download and install a new basic/free set of tools rather than update versions I hadn't updated in like 3 or 4 (or more) years.

    Delete markers ?

Tried both delete keys on my keyboard, the one between the QWERTY keypad and the number pad just above the arrow keys the one on the number pad Both delete the marker. The icon change appears to be new with 2019-07. Are you using a US keyboard? Regardless, it appears to be something support needs to handle.

    Delete markers ?

IDK, I have never seen anyone post a problem like this and I cannot reproduce the problem. I just tried changing Cakewalk to French and added and deleted a marker just like the video above. Running Cakewalk 2019.07 Early Access 2 (EA2) on the US version of Win10 Home v1809. To be clear, the cursor only changes when the mouse is positioned on the triangle at the top of the marker.
  13. The deal this relates to is the "bundle" of all Pettinhouse kontakts. $119 for everything. Anyway, in downloading "ClassicGuitar2" I found a "letter to pirates" text file, it's pretty awesome. Has anyone seen it? I'll very likely post it but I'm not sure I should. Check your recent Pettinhouse extractions, it might be there. It says it was written in 2019. Any thots?
  14. Okay, I've uninstalled the early release and reinstalled back to 2019.05 . . . but this mute button issue still exists. I've now discovered this is actually an issue with my controller keyboard, when unplug it, Cakewalk MUTE button works as expected. Sorry, so this is not an early release bug, it's something with my keyboard controller. Off to troubleshoot.
  15. 2019, the year we had a summer of Black Fridays.

  17. I'm mixing in Console View and dragged an Ozone 8 Imager VST3 from the FX rack of a track to the adjacent track and Imager followed by Cakewalk crashed. Both created crash notifications. I've attached screenshots of the notifications. Cakewalk created a recovery project file which I haven't tried because I had a recently saved copy to revert to. The crash is somewhat repeatable. I was able to repeat it once using the same steps as the first time. I've caused what appears to be the same crash randomly opening/closing and moving the plugin. I'm using version 2019.07 Build 65 (Early Access 2). I recently signed up for early access. No other problems with early access 1 or 2. Since this is my first crash report, I'm not sure how/where to post it. Let me know if I need to do anything else.

  21. Once you get your system up and running perfectly again, make priority #1 to get an image backup software program List of 5 best for 2019 on Windows 10: https://windowsreport.com/backup-software-windows-10/ and also an additional hard drive in your desktop (like a Winchester Digital Blue 1 TB) https://www.amazon.com/WD-Blue-1TB-Hard-Drive/dp/B0088PUEPK/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?keywords=Winchester+blue+1TB&qid=1564126621&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmr2 or an external hard drive via USB, in which to copy your image backup file of your C-Drive. After your system is perfect, and all your upgrade patches are in place for all your programs, THEN make a complete copy of your C-drive (BEFORE you go exploring the Internet) onto your secondary hard drive. THEN, whenever you have an issue like you are presently having, or if you accidentally get a virus or malware or ransomware, whatever, you can restore you system to perfection in minutes using the program's RESTORE feature, which looks to that 2nd drive where the image is stored and then restores from it back to your C-Drive and you are good to go again. Usually, these backup image programs either come with a CD from which to boot when your system is corrupted, or you have to make a Restore CD from an ISO file that you must also download and make said CD. The point is that when you are going to restore your system, it cannot do so from within your current running Windows. It requires booting up into a version of Windows that is on the RESTORE CD, and then you point that application to the RESTORE image (found on your secondary hard drive), and it will completely overwrite your existing C-Drive with the backup image, and your are 100% happy again.

  23. Release: 2019.05 Steps to reproduce: Open a project with at least one MIDI track Open the PRV Activate "scrub" mode by pressing "J" move the mouse cursor up to the Track View Timeline Ruler and click in the timeline Observe: "The audio engine has stopped unexpectedly" notification toast The mouse cursor is now "boxed in" to a horizontal screen area that overlays the timeline ruler - you can't move the mouse outside this band to click on menu or close or anything Workaround: Alt-TAB to another application (if you can). Now the mouse is "released from its cage" Click back into Cakewalk The mouse is still an "scrub" icon but if you click in the Smart Tool selector you can pop it out of this mode which returns regular mouse icon Click on File-Exit to exit the application safely (continuing to work is not advised; unexpected behavior or return to "scrub lockup" is possible Update Note: This can be reproduced with a brand new empty project: Create empty project Add MIDI track Record some notes (might not be required but seems advisable) Open the PRV Press J to enable scrub mode Click in PRV to audition the MIDI notes (yeah, no sound because no instrument but bear with me) Click in Track View Ruler to move NOW time - may required 2 or 3 clicks but eventually you get the Scrub Mouse Cage effect described above

  25. I can't help feeling that there's something I'm missing with it, because obviously the developer put a ton of work into it, the UI is beautiful, it has all these options, there are the people raving about it on YouTube, there are announcements about add-on packs, etc. So I take all that trouble and time to get it to work and it seems like a tarted-up arpeggiator. If I had put in the same amount of time and effort running scales on my piano.... Well, if anyone here sees the white light and can tell me what it is about Instachord that makes intelligent-seeming grown men froth at the mouth, please do. The guy I'm thinking of seemed to know some music theory, so it wasn't just excitement over finally making his synths sound like someone good was playing them. I know I sound down on Instachord, but I wouldn't be disappointed if I hadn't been interested in it to start with, and if anyone reading this wants to try it out, the price isn't too steep. Pluginboutique has the bundle of both Instachord, Instascale, and the 3 preset packs, all for $10. This runs through August 4, 2019.
