  1. Hey Jeese. I listened to this one and Rice On The Church Steps. Loved them both!!! With Crosseyed I wasn't sure if this was about CoVid isolation, agoraphobia, or a vision problem -- or --- maybe --- something else. No matter, cool is cool and both songs were cool!!!
  2. Hi Steve. Some day I'll come out of "back in the alley" and come into the sunshine of the present. However, at least for now, I'm having too much fun in the alley. I have come to really like the Fender collection and in particular the Fender 1957 Deluxe. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment! Hi Rik. Thanks very much for listening and taking the time to comment. I have always found, that even though the subject of a Blues song can be sad, I always feel better after listening. I believe that B B King always promoted the same idea. Thanks again!!
  3. First of all my apologies for be tardy with my responses. I have been dealing with contractors in having some repairs done to my house. These repairs were interrupted by Hurricane Ian. This caused a bit more of a delay but now have been completed (yea!!) Hi Dream Arts Scientists: Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment. Very much appreciated!! Hey John B. Thanks very much for your kind words. Although I was too young to understand it or really appreciate this kind of music, it is the music that I loved it at a very early age. I guess it was all that rhythm that grabbed me. There are a few pockets in the USA and particularly in the UK and Europe that appreciate this fossil music. YouTube has some great videos that shows relatively recent events where the oldsters and kids are digging the sounds. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. Hi Nigel. Thanks very much and I am glad that you liked this number. BTW, I very much liked your recent post with the new sound! Hey Old Joad. I only wish I had access to their studio and some of the talent that played there. It would be a great learning experience! Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!! Hey tom! Thanks very much for your kind words and for your encouragement!!! You are right! The frogman must be appreciated. Here is a link to Mr. Henry's song that was the inspiration for this song. Hi Lynn. Thanks for listening my friend. Thanks for the very kind words and encouragement. I'm looking forward to some new posts by you. Hi Lynn. Thanks for listening my friend. Thanks for the very kind words and encouragement. I'm looking forward to some new posts by you.
  4. You have captured that "Americana" style of song. Over all I think that you have a very good song. Perhaps a few tweaks mentioned above and it will be radio! I enjoyed it --- nice one!!
  5. Very nice indeed. You have a talented son! You have a right to be a proud papa!!

    Mourning Lilly

Welcome to the forum. This is indeed a nice tribute to your friend. I have lost 2 dogs who were indeed excellent friends. I would love to have another dog but I'm not sure that I could handle a 3rd loss. I am going to disagree with a couple of the comments above. This is indeed a dirge like song. If the tempo were increased too much, then it might lose that mournful quality. However, given my limitations and limited musical knowledge ---- well, maybe you might be better off in choosing to take their suggestions.

You never disappoint! You have a great talent for performing and producing "catchy" fun pop-ish songs. These are the kind of songs that you carry around in your head for the rest of the day after listening to them. Really good work Allan!!!
  8. I echo all of the positive comments above. The harmonies are great but it all works very well. Excellent work!!!
  9. I love the funky-ish Jazzy style of this song. That also is some pretty nice noodling. In fact, I would call it some doggone good guitar playing. The drums, in the beginning, really set this song off on a good track. Very nice indeed!
  10. I went way "back in the alley" to pull off this song. My inspiration was a song done back in 1956 called "Ain't Got No Home" which was done by Clarence "Frogman" Henry. I think that this song does not sound anything like the Frogman's but I did borrow from the concept or idea. Besides -- unlike the Frogman --- I can not sing like a girl or like a frog. However, I hope that I captured some of the fun and mood of of his song. It is a simple song with two rhythm guitars (chords and notes), another guitar for accents and the lead break, bass guitar, drums and vocals. I used the Amplitude 1957 Fender guitar amp in hopes of getting some of the grit that seemed to be present in the R & B guitar sounds of that era. For you old guys maybe you might remember Mr. Henry's original song (when you were a wee bit of a rug rat like me). For you young guys maybe it might introduce you to an R & B song that became a crossover hit. I have learned a lot from the comments, suggestions, crit.'s, etc. that I have received from y'all and would appreciate your input for this one. Thanks! 11. Hi Allan. How are you? It is a bit out of my range of styles but every once in a while one must try something different. Thanks very much for your kind words and encouragement. And Alice did indeed enjoy it. Thanks again.
  12. Hi Wookiee, Thank you my furry friend. I very much appreciate both comments!!

Hi Bjorn. This does have backing track for a cinema or TV video. I agree with Nigel above -- it sounds good just as it is. This number definitely sets a mood early on and maintains it throughout. Really good stuff pal.
  14. Hey Nigel! Another perfect song, video, performance, and production. Certainly it maintains your high standards and quality. Yes, your sound has changed a bit and this song seems to have a strong commercial pop appeal. Best of luck on the new album and new website!!
  15. HiYa pal! You really are on a roll with what you have been posting. It has been hard for me to keep up but when I do it is always a treat. So -- I just listened to 3 of your more recent song and loved them all. Keep 'em coming!
  16. What a wonderful song!! The lyrics sound very personal and the music is perfect for the lyrics. I love your use of delay/echo on the vocals and also love the harmonic guitars toward the end. This was great --- please do some more with vocals.
  17. Hi Marcus. Thank you very much Mark. They said it wouldn't last but boy did Alice an I show them!! Really glad that you and Warren are back on the forum, and I'm really enjoying your postings.
  18. Hey Bjorn. Thanks for your very kind comments. Ya, this one was stripped down, bare and minimalist! The point was the lyrics and I didn't want to crowd them out. Thanks again. Hi Mark. Thanks for listening and your suggestion. I do abuse verb but I am always pleased to use it. I am going to take a look at this song again and see how I might use verb without abusing It. Much appreciated! Hello Nigel. Thanks very much for the kind comments. They are very much appreciated. Thanks also for the congrat's. As I get older it seems the anniversaries are coming more frequently. Hi Lynn. It is great to see you back on the forum. I really enjoyed your recent post. Thanks for your comments and the congrat's. Hi John B. "A ballad from Freddy" --- I guess that there is a first time for everything. If only I could do "just about anything(lol). Thanks for the kind words and the congrat's.
  19. A very impressive production indeed! Well put together, entertaining, creative, and technically/musically impressive. Very cool!
  20. I always enjoy your stuff Jesse. Thank you!
  21. This song has your signature all over it and that is a very good thing. The mix sounds good to my tired old ears --- Well Done!
  22. Nice one Anthony ! There is something to be said for spontaneity and sincerity! I too suffer from a lack of technical knowledge in mixing, etc. and can relate. This song tells a great story and your presentation delivered it very well.
  23. Welcome to the forum! I was not expecting that but I couldn't help be impressed with the sounds that you created with a guitar. Very cool. I look forward to your future posts!
  24. Excellent -- laid back, no urgency, mellow and some great playing. Love the sound of that lead guitar. Sometimes it is nice to hear just the guitar without massive amounts of Fx. Well done!
  25. Great to see you back on the forum Lynn. What a return -- Great song ! Complex, creative and very entertaining. I enjoyed the lyrics also. I hope that you family is doing well as are you. I'm afraid that this CoVid thing is going to be around for some time. I look forward to more of your creations!
