This reminded me of my mid 70's kansas obsession. This was wild. Listened to *a man I'll never be*, like your voice alot, but haven't heard you singing much here. I'm going to listen to more of your stuff.
  7. David's entry had humor, it referenced the genre of science fiction (robots), it had a melody that one could recall, it had genuine surprise at key moments (the others only superficially created surprise). Also, David's had multiple levels of ideas going, whereas the others only had one main idea throughout. I'm only comparing to the runner's up. I'm sure out of 11k there were probably over 1k that were great, but why blame spitfire? :D:DCompetitions only give an approximation of a meritocracy. Really it comes down to who you know don't it?
  8. The poor spitees have to deal with 10999 composer egos. They're all griping on the you tube where paul announced the winner.
  9. Calum I think you've expressed the pandemic perfectly! You use repetition effectively in this.
  10. Most of the pandemic stuff is anemic but this is soulful and thoughtful. Great tune.
  11. Thanks HS. How do I make it louder?. I go for -12 lufs but it always sounds quieter than other streaming songs
  12. Like your song. Is that you singing?
  13. Thanks for listening Paul.
  14. Pleasant listen, kloon Who wrote it? I can hear this in a dance remix.
  15. The whole band got great chops. I've always wondered how jazz players can think in such complex rhythms and never miss a beat. Are you sax or guitar?
  16. You need to get a singer! Not sure what genre this is, but I like it. Thanks for sharing! :D:D
  17. I never understood why spitfire has all these slowly evolving textures libraries. But this sounds really magnificent on a good set of speakers. Thank you for sharing.
  18. Andy good to see you. Eclectic wasn't really the goal so I may have failed. :(. But glad you remembered it! Hope you're enjoying the apocalypse as much as I am.
  19. I love your tone and style. This is my favorite type of jazz, and you've done it good. :D:D
  20. Treesha, so nice to see a new face (also female.) Glad you could relate to this.
  21. I turned down the shakers, good call. Thanks for your time and critique!
  22. What's ezkeys? The piano sounds amazing. +1 drums up.
