  1. . . . just popped in to say I love the remix, you've gone another level of clear on it now . . . and adding that guitar middle section was brilliant ! What a great tune. Bruce
  2. good one jack, nice listen, interesting chord change ups...
  3. @Larry T. . . . this is super cool to listen to, and very catchy ! I actually like the sound of the Cakewalk SI drums, and have used them myself a lot over the years, they don't take over a mix, kind of over compressed samples, but sometimes the drums need taming down . . . you've made great use of them here in your laid back groove. Really enjoyed the guitar work, and adding harmonica was a nice touch. Great stuff, excellent theme and variations ! (was your cat really named boom boom ?) Bruce

    Free Fall

Yet another "Well done Bjorn !" . . . really liked that encompassing horn sound you started adding in the middle of this, also very effective when the echo delay goes chromatic. Sounds great, and interesting to listen to . . . nothing but good vibes, enjoyed it.
  5. Nice pop tune, I liked the catchy melody ! . . . brought to mind something like a Dua Lipa vocal, and the simple melody and lyric kind of stays with you after a bit, great listen !
  6. Just a treat for the ears (and eyes) Nigel, just a treat ! . . . only way it would be more entertaining is if you actually smashed that guitar (c/w pieces flying) . . . hmmm, well maybe a cheap guitar prop. Also, enjoyed the synth sequencer, really helps drive it along against your excellent guitar work. Vocals rock, you know.
  7. Very well done, lots of work to write and play something like that ! . . . I used to tune pianos, back in the day, and one day I tuned a piano, and my client sat down after and played some incredible boogie woogie, now that felt so good . . . just like your piece did ! Took me back, great stuff Jeff, enjoyed thoroughly.
  8. The ether feeds you well on this one Wookiee . . . you always have that interesting pallet of sounds, thought I even heard some virtual jungle monkeys yelping around 2:30, but that could just be my mind playing tricks. Anyways, glad to see your art alive and kicking here on the forum ! Enjoyed, as always.
  9. @mark skinner @subvibe Very cool collaboration . . . alive and kicking all around the world ! Great to see and hear music like this come together. Definitely a very fascinating fusion of different styles that totally works for my ears. I've heard both of your tunes online, and this really melds the two styles together into one interesting tapestry. Even the two vocal styles have very distinct characters, but you've made it work, in the back and forth story of the lyric. I always love me a thick mix, esp. when it's clear . . . and this one fills a large audio range from sub kick to high percussion, and keeps the clarity. I suspect on club size speakers that sub kick might overpower a bit. Always a joy to hear Mark's left right panned guitar interplay . . . stir in the Subvibe neo-pop sound, wow, I really did enjoy this !

    River's Bend

What a gentle peaceful piece of music, feels so good to listen to and enjoy . . . and enjoy I did ! Instruments all work together perfectly, so well played and mixed.
  11. Wow Wookiee ! . . . you brought out a lot of toys from the box in this one. I liked it a lot, and found there is much dancing and some counter melodies happening in the overtones all through this . . . I found my ears (and attention) phasing between the overall rhythm and those overtones . . . very enjoyable.

    HURRICANE

Thanks so much everyone . . . 4 minutes of your time always appreciated here ! @Paul Bush Great comment, thanks for the listen @PhonoBrainer Yes, it's a brush kit, and I kept bring the snare up as I went along, maybe not enough, I'll have a closer listen to the drum levels. Never had a drummer steal my girlfriend, they just drank all my beer until the meter got wobbly. @bjornpdx Thanks Bjorn . . . I did find it an easier path, with someone else writing the vocals, though still, some work to get it right, fitting it all together like a puzzle. (When I write the lyric, it's like there is no puzzle to put together yet ?)
  13. Well done by you, and well enjoyed by me ! Particularly liked the guitars and vocals . . . maybe a quicker fade leaving more of the climax ? Just a thought, after a few listens, but very strong musically overall !

    The Song

So much to like here in this one Gary . . . it's a great song about writing songs ! The intro has such beautiful ambience, and the harmonies are excellent. Thought I heard a touch of feedback just before the second verse cuts in ? All in all a very balanced mix, with great performances. Pretty rockin' guitar solo (for a country song), and really liked the transition back into the harmony vocals. Most impressive, enjoyed the song and the band very much !

    HURRICANE

Mark, thanks for the uplifting comment . . . the guitars really did take a long time to record and piece together on this one, but I did experiment a lot, and think I found a signal chain for recording my acoustic that works better . . . your input is most appreciated ! Bruce

    HURRICANE

Thank you Wookiee . . . clear on the Adam's, furry lugs and all, I appreciate you having a listen !

    HURRICANE

@Bajan Blue Hey Nigel . . . thanks for your comments, and mix reassurance . . . since you asked, I'll share the way I did this one . . . Started with a pattern from NI Picked Acoustic VST, then overdubbed my Yamaki Acoustic guitar with an alternate strumming pattern, mic'd with Sennheiser Omni directional, Valhalla reverb, played my Gibson Epiphone Electric in the chorus, thru Korg A3 . . . Fretless Bass courtesy of Modo Bass 2, BFD3 Brush Kit, and a few slide guitar touches with Ample Martin acoustic VST . . . next time, I'll ask you to reveal . . . because your "Devine Lie" stuff is always so awesome ! (Folks will wanna know)

    HURRICANE

Thanks for listening in jack c. I'll have another look at those vocal levels
  19. Nigel . . . just here to echo the many before, always such a great listen ! Masterfully mixed and arranged, gold bar standard for rock songs here on the forum . . . (hope you get to cash in that gold bar some day)

    HURRICANE

Here's a new song where I once again connected with lyricist Carroll Kiphen ( an expert in hurricanes, living in the southern USA(: Lately I've been trying to get some better bass sounds, so in this one I'm playing around with Modo Bass, a physical modeling software. I used to play bass in a band for many years, and this is the closest, and most flexible sound I've heard from a software based bass. This song uses a fretless bass . . . ya' . . . I could never actually play one of those ! Hope you enjoy . . . and let me know if the mix works . . . Regards, Bruce
  21. Interesting, with the Synth V vocals . . . sounds very old school production wise (1960's ?), with cutting edge AI audio technology. Yes, that organ would work better with guitar up strums instead. The repeated drum hit (or toms) at the end of the chorus sounds a bit distorted. Sax part sounds great, lots of lush delay. Fun stuff, thanks for posting !
  22. Another edgy and upbeat rocker Paul ! . . . enjoyed it, as always, vocals and background vocals captured very well.
  23. Such a great and excellent piece on so many levels ! Firstly, it has that time transport quotient, in that one does not realize it is almost 7 minutes long, because it is absorbing and fascinating as you listen along. It's got some fun, with serious undertones . . . your Soundcloud pic reminds me of a certain SuperTramp album cover. I also love the way you deliver the vocals in such a loose and relaxed way. Lyrics are classic, and the horn section is icing on the cake (with sparkles) Mix sounds perfect to my ears, what a great listen Tom !

    Song For Ruth

Definitely a heart song, as I really felt it as it went along . . . well contributed by everyone, an enduring and realistic love theme that many can relate to. Just a great listen folks !
  25. Great pop rock tune, vocals and melody are very well done . . . it's got good dynamics too, starts intimate, and gets big and powerful, especially like the way you've used acoustic and electric guitars to get those those dynamics . . . great to listen to on my headphones, I'll certainly try some speaker listens tomorrow, see how it translates . . .
