  1. Have you tried to just import a AIFF file into a CbB track ? I've never worked with them - but curious if you tried to just drag dropping one.
  2. Great story - ! I've been able to utilize recordings I made in Midi only Cakewalk and a Pro audio 9 recording I made in the early to mid 90's. It's one of things that makes Cake a standout. Backwards compatibility all those years ago.
  3. The song Money came on the radio on my drive home tonight. Still the sound and production absolutely kicks butt after 40 years. Not too many people get away a wha wha on a Rhodes like that. Amazing really.
  4. I believe by default the volume parameter from the MIDI track is sent when play is enabled. That Volume is usually set to something less than 127 by default ( 107 ) I think. Set the Midi track volume to 127. For good measure - check the event list to make sure there is no midi volume set at the beginning of the midi track.
  5. I find the most important thing to remember when working in offset mode is : remember to turn it back off immediately after working the fader or parameter you're offsetting. I've forgotten on a few occasions and ended up goofing up a bunch of other things unintentionally. To select the whole track - I dbl click the track number. Sometimes it's a good idea to zoom out to make sure the whole time line is selected. You will notice that all nodes in the automation lane changes to a highlight color, telling you that they're selected.
  6. I loved watching videos of their shows. The Stage gimmicks were hilarious, my favorite being the Chicken rotisseries. I saw them when I was a bit younger probably in 1977, they opened for Aerosmith on their Toys in the Attic tour. Probably one of rushes earlier tours I would think.
  7. Just for the sake of testing - have you de-selected all of the automation read buttons ? - and tried playback ? Does it happen at the same position in the time line? If it is all faders including the buss faders and the master. I would guess you might have a corrupt project.
  8. This is what I use take lanes for - on the occasions I use them. The 3 little bars in the lower left of the track manager.
  9. Thank you Scook - I toggled the Audio engine button and didn't catch the " icon " for midi panic.
  10. I've been working almost exclusively with Audio tracks for about a year on a project. I've recently needed to do some Midi composing and editing and I'm finding a plethora of stuck notes when copying ( via Cntl drag ) clusters of notes in the PRV with polyphonic velocity audition selected. It is not an issue when poly audition is switched off. There are sometimes multiple copies over layered on top of each other. I've had to resort to launching MIDI-OX to run it's panic reset routine (sometimes multiple passes ) to un stick the notes. This is pushing a hardware synth as well. I haven't tried this with VSTi. It doesn't appear to matter whether Cntl is selected before or after selecting and dragging the notes. A drag to copy move rings notes and they are likely auditioned and drag copied in the audition state. The notes them selves don't appear to be multi copied. Midi buffers are at default. Might a change here help ? All other midi functions play and edit normally as far as I can tell. I remember from years ago Cakewalk having a Panic button and can't seem to locate anything similar in CbB. Does one exist ? I couldn't locate a CAL routine for this - though I have a large zip file that I haven't roamed in a while - maybe one exists that I can tie to a key bind.
  11. I'll third - ly recomend G-tune. Small interface, light weight on resources. Fast and accurate. Free.
  12. I understand that re-sizable track view layouts might not lend itself to hi resolution meters. But the Console view seems to have better real estate available. Also - it would great to have an alternate meter background color for MIDI meters view in both track and console views. Sharing the same green background sort of confuses the quick glance for metering on audio and midi tracks. I would choose a blue background for Midi meters personally. It would an great forward looking update to have meters fly-out for a high res view by dbl clicking it - sort of the way the Prochannel quad EQ does. Dbl clicking the peak and RMS value widgets to re-set etc. Maybe nesting a high res - Fader Gain and Pan pot flyout - large scale.
  13. Looking forward to trying these - out, I have a pair of hd 650's and a K-240 to test against.
  14. Funny - I just went to their site - and something popped up that said " Edward just bought CB-1 " So I see you got your second pair. ! Just ordered a pair based on recommends here. Don't disappoint me fellers !
  15. I think the moves are parametric between console strip moves and track view order. Would incredibly nifty to be able to nest folders in console view - someday.
  16. I play Jazz on a 12 string- cause I get to play the wrong twice, in half the time.
  17. I thought you just change your name and start over.
  18. My Win 7 system was built in 2009. I can't do an in-place win10 update for reasons unknown. I figure that I will ride it out for as long as possible. I'm stuck at certain older versions of software for my UAD Apollo due to restrictions related to not wanting to chase really high prices for a thunderbolt update and W 10 updates. So, When it comes time to update - it will likely cost both a high end computer and a high end interface to get back to simply covering an OS compatibility. At my age I determined it's not really worth 5 - 6 K just to stay current. I'm very glad that CbB is opting for roll back to last install with every update. When the time comes to lock it down - so be it.
  19. A raw midi track - if the tracks output is not set to specific channel can contain multiple midi channels information . If there is no specific channel set on the tracks output - it will output on whatever channels the raw data was recorded with. - Or whatever multiple midi channels might have been merged into a single track.
  20. In CbB - under Preferences > Project > Midi. Un-select the " zero controllers when play stops " This will leave your instruments settings as you set them. It is per project.
  21. You should ( in my opinion ) " Bounce to Clips " to render the Melodyne track, and see where you are. Do the necessary splits to drag parts in CbB. Then maybe open another Melodyne region if you need to.
  22. Can't wait for this as well. Thanks for the heads up !
  23. That's what I meant by potential, unfortunately - it's un realized potential. I'd have to opine differently on the deep editing though. Trying to dig into deep editing in Kontakt is horrible for me. Even the simplest task like transposing or pitch shifting a sample range is a nightmare. One huge potential that Independence " had " that seemed to get lost in the 64 bit conversion was it's own VST hosting capability. Nesting VSTi's inside Independence and blending outside synths seamlessly with in Independence was a monster feature. Again - it really is a mute point that I'm making - Magix just bought it and treated it like a Rompler for Samplitude only. The interface and fonts is a real detractor for many for Independence - but that was just cosmetics, always hoped that could take on a new look. The module structure for synth building is very powerful.
  24. I have the stand alone Independence, as well as a license via samplitude. I think Independence had the only real chance of competing with Kontakt - and unfortunately it's development was dropped when Magix bought it. There are some really good sounds in the expanded 70 gig library. The percussion samples are particularly good. Lots of bread and butter sounds - but missing a few staples such as a real rhodes and hammond instruments. I still use them quite a bit. People complain about the user interface - but to me it's still 10X better than the Kontakt interface. It has a lot of potential as a raw synth engine as well.
