  1. Great job on this! I Loved the treatment on the vocals. Very pristine strong reverb , and they're still in your face without being pulled back. I especially liked the low notes , I felt as if you were right in front of me.. I'd love some reverb details if you don't mind sharing. Enjoyed it .. mark
  2. Robert , It will be helpful later for your friend to set up a "Spotify Artist" account (free). From that he can monitor streams , downloads etc.. Normally takes a few months for the data to be collected and available for viewing. ms

A "most excellent adventure" I loved all of it . mark
  4. Hi Larry , I think your piano sounds Much better. It seems to be wide enough and has a lot more depth. I'm also hearing the mismatch between the drums and piano as @jack c. stated. It's more obvious on the intro but there are several spots where the piano stabs aren't lining up. Maybe solo the piano against a metronome and then the percussion against the metronome to narrow it down a bit. I'm feeling like it's the piano though. I used to do a piano in piano view with mouse clicks. It can get real tricky keeping a good flow and not sounding robotic. Maybe a loose quantize would clean it up ? Not a deal breaker .. Still sounds good . mark
  5. A Very enjoyable listen Larry .. Production wise .. I feel like your piano could be widened a good bit , with some longer tailed High freq. reverb. Just my first analytical impression. Very Nice .. mark

    Playback speed

That might be a good "Feature Request" after the new Sonar rolls out. I used "Reaper" for a short time , and I seem to remember being able to grab a horizontal slider below the control bar. It changed the playback speed at will. Pretty handy tool for hunting mistakes or learning a complex guitar part. ms
  7. Bruce , I no nothing about Acadian music but really appreciate the Irish feel. I would love to be able to do the fast reels. I thought this was a Very cool song and I Really liked the instrumentation. Quite a bit different from your past songs. Great job on the entire production. If you ever need bagpipes on a song , hit me up. I've got a set on the wall where they belong. Enjoyed it .. mark
  8. Thanks guys , @Barry Seymour I've reworked the fade out , but not completely satisfied yet. It's been bothering me as well. Restructuring the song may be a problem but , I Totally understand what you are saying. I'll repost when I'm happy with it. Thank You for your valuable input. @jack c. Thanks for the comment. Ask her again with some cash in your hand .. @Larry T. We appreciate the compliment. I'll for sure check out the song. There's a lot for me to learn in this genre. Thanks for the listen .. mark - Link to SoundClick now reflects Remix -

    Rain

I liked it So much .. I had to hear it more before continuing. I was trying to figure out how you were doing those quick flurries with your pick. I thought the timing was brilliant ! I have only heard that done once by a pro banjo player. Impressive on a guitar .. mark

Barry , all of you have every reason to be Very proud of this. Excellent production on a Well written song. It doesn't sound like any of you have lost their edge.. I had to back up to that short solo section around 1:45 , 3 times before I got to the end of the song. It sounds like a "classic" Good Luck with it .. mark
  11. Hello , We had such a good time with our last collaboration we immediately started another one. This one is just about all SubVibe. All I did was the electric guitar and some backing vocals. I really like the "spire" synth he used on this and our last song. We both shared the mix/master on this , so if you hear any problems or have suggestions , one of us will figure it out. Thank You .. mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14641482
  12. Glad I could help 🙂 Maybe a sock puppet video ?? Only You could lock in with the vocals. Boost the break parts and sway with the music . You never know .. Maybe a new niche for you could go viral .. ms
  13. What a Wonderful song! I Loved the way you sang the first verses putting the impact in different spots. You sure packed a lot of cool instrumentation in this one . It was light and inspirational , and for some reason .. I envisioned "Kermit the Frog" singing it. I hope you take that as a compliment .. I Loved the Beatle ish quality. mark
  14. Michael , Very Nice guitar work. You sure got a lot of nice different tones for the different sections. I Really liked the double leads and the cinematic feel of the whole production .. Enjoyed it .. mark
  15. I agree with Jesse ^^ I couldn't find a fault in it anywhere. Great song , Beautiful woman , Hot VW. You covered all the bases for me .. Enjoyed it .. mark ,
  16. Hello Lynn , I Really enjoyed that ! No crits or suggestions from me. Very good job with the screen shots following the vocals. Looks like you have a nice touch with a whammy bar. (wish I had one) I think your vocals Really excelled on this. Cool looking studio as well. Enjoyed it .. mark
  17. Hook , Valhalla's "space modulator" also has some Fantastic long tail reverbs . It's another free one that I've been using a little more than Super Massive lately , for sections needing that kind of treatment. ms
  18. David , Fantastic guitar work. I don't think I've ever heard an album done like this. Out of curiosity what did you use for backing while recording ? Surely you didn't keep up the energy and flow using a metronome .. Enjoyed it .. mark
  19. @PhonoBrainer , Thank You for commenting and your inspiring compliment. Her vocal delay was "Timeless" from Fab Filter. I haven't really gotten the full grasp of this plugin , I'm just adjusting some amazing presets. SubVibe is a male keys player and producer from Holland that mainly does chill-out style using female vocals. There is another Subvibe well known and followed on SoundCloud. I put the "Netherlands" in his description trying to get the two a little less confusing. @Lee Neitzel I really appreciate your time and comments. I'll be the first to admit that I know Nothing about mixing this genre of music. I trusted my ears and tried to make a conversion from my normal sounding songs. Thanks'. @KSband I actually "enjoyed" doing the solo. I deleted several sessions where I was doing the same leads I always do. I tried for something a little different in a jazzier style. I think we're done with this one , and if there are any further changes it wont be bumped up . It will be up on the streaming platforms in a few days. Thank you all .. mark
  20. Lee , Very Enjoyable listen. I feel like I went on vacation. I thought you did a Superb job on the Entire production. mark
  21. OK , I've done a pretty "substantial" remix . @Larry T. and @Bajan Blue It now has a 12 bar middle section break with some added guitar fills afterwards. I knew it needed one but I wouldn't have gone through the cutting , copy/paste session without your comments. I also did quite a bit of work getting it closer to a SubVibe feel. Thanks .. mark
  22. Great moving song. Loved the constant Groove. I Really enjoyed the different parts entering and exiting. Fantastic job on this. mark
  23. Closed my eyes and drifted away .. Thank You .. mark
  24. Very Nice. I Love the clean tone on your guitar and especially your reverb choice for this. It envelops you and was just right to me . It sounded Especially good just using a single guitar. Nice .. I remember spending three months reproducing one of your "off the cuff" noodling blues tunes. I learned a lot from you on that project and had a 5 gig audio folder to clean up after All the overdubs. Your talent is very inspiring. Loved it .. mark
