About Me

  1. At least, my installation just told me an update was available. Early days, but up and running on 2019.07 here. Thanks, Bakers!
  2. Not seeing any updates for the ones I own , Inflator & Transmod. Last update for both of these was over 2 years ago (2021/2019).
  3. Hi all! There's a problem with authorizations ONLY when using N4 3rd party official libs with other instances of any other Nebula programs. Here is a quote of a thread in old Cakewalk forum, October 24, 18: 2019 and I confirm this. So annoying and sad. Recently I lost all my mix recall due to this problem. Im and old Nebula and Acqua user and never a problem on Sonar. Rencently bought "Brighton", a 3rd party official Lib for N4, and it became a nightmare. Test on Reaper and no problem on same system (Win7 64bit) Any thoughts?
  4. I am unable launch Cakewalk 2019.07 on my laptop. I made a video of the problem: Has anybody else had this problem?
  5. A detailed 2019.07 Feature Overview has been posted with lots of screen captures and explanations of the new comp workflow. Please check it out.

  7. https://www.howtogeek.com/402569/everything-new-in-windows-10s-april-2019-update/ Any takers? Seems like a good one.
  8. Please excuse if this has been answered. Tried various searches to no avail. On my projects, MIDI tracks have an "END" marker at the end of each track, but on my recorded audio tracks, there is no "END" marker. What happens is that Cakewalk reaches the end of my recorded audio track and just keeps on running until I actively stop it using the mouse/keyboard option. I always have the Stop At Project End option checkmarked, but it does not seem to work on recorded audio, logically because the audio tracks have no Project End marker. I have previously contacted BLCakewalk support in mid-2019 about this issue, and they appeared to acknowledge the problem after reviewing my submitted sample project, but replied that they would add it to the list for future "fixes". Not sure if others have the same problem, as it may be some unidentified setting in my Cakewalk, but in it's simpliest form, Is there a way to force an "END" marker at the end of an audio track?

  11. It will likely interest some here that we just updated our Catalina statement and existing FAQ (as well as adding a new FAQ for specific software installations). The following macOS 10.15 Catalina compatible application updates are in your IK User Area: AXE I/O Control Panel 1.1b, Custom Shop 1.9, and Authorization Manager 1.0.27. For those with a fresh Catalina installation or who are installing these applications for the first time we've included an FAQ to assist: SampleTank 4, Hammond B-3X, and UNO Drum Editor.
  12. For me Drumagog 5 was iffy in Sonar Platinum (usually one instance only would work), and it wouldn't work at all in earlier versions of Bandlab (graphic issues). I haven't stress-tested it yet, but it seems to be working smoothly in 2019.01. I don't know if you fixed it specifically, or if other changes you made fixed the issue, but in any case, thank you!
  13. If you are going to be in New York Oct 15-18 please come see us @ AES! If you don't have a pass you can get a free pass from us here. Jesse Jost, Mike Balzarini, and myself along with Amon Wong from BandLab are at the show and we're showing CbB as well as BandLab. Here are some pix of the booth.
  14. MS has had "Home Use Programs" for years that were $9.99 based on employees needing to use Office at home. IIRC, that program ended with 2019, but I thought they were forcing 365 on everyone. I didn't realize there was anything after 2019, so these might be a return of the HUP variety.
  15. The secret is out! IK Multimedia is proud to unveil our brand new UNO Drum - the newest member of the UNO series. This brand new analog/PCM drum machine offers a wide sonic palette combining fat, punchy analog sounds with digital flexibility and convenience. A robust selection of programming and live performance features and controls makes it easy for musicians, producers, and DJs to add massive drum grooves to their music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9oWySbP-zk UNO Drum’s in-depth controls encourage experimentation to take drum tracks far beyond the norm. Up to 12 elements can be used in total between analog and digital sounds, with 11-voice polyphony available. Together, these analog and PCM sounds suit the widest genres of music and musicians, and a variety of live scenarios. UNO Drum’s 100 pre-programmed and fully editable drum kit presets and patterns make it a first in its class. This makes it easier and faster for users to find an inspiring kit they can experiment with or tweak to create the perfect groove. All sounds made on UNO Drum can be stored and recalled on the fly. Top panel editing controls allow for adjustment of key parameters of each sound, just like UNO Synth. For added punch and sound character that stands out in a mix, UNO Drum also offers three master effects: Drive (audio), Stutter (MIDI), and Compressor (audio). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_RavuOsJUk UNO Drum offers 12 touch-sensitive pads with two velocity zones, for more expressive live playing and easier programming. They can be used to play entire beats live with a pad-style feel, or to easily add live flare on top of pre-programmed rhythms. A 64-step sequencer allows users to program in patterns one step at a time, using the 16 buttons across the bottom of the panel, or recording a pattern in real-time. Up to eight parameters can be automated per step to add even more variation and feel to their grooves. The Song mode lets users chain up to 64 patterns together to create extended grooves. Weighing only 400g, UNO Drum is super lightweight and small enough to fit in a backpack, yet sturdy enough to hit the road near and far away. Shipping is scheduled for June of 2019, pre-order your UNO Drum now to be the first to receive it! 16. I haven´t been using Cakewalk for a while and when I started my Cakewalk computer I got a notice that I need to connect or stay in Demo-mode. I let the Bandlab assistant upgrade. Now some of my Modules like Tool, Snap and Transport is not working. Say I try to change the tempo or try to play. Noting happens. The controls doen´t react. All other clickingseems to work. I´m using Win7 on Parallells on my Mac.
  17. See above. Lots of great features, optimisations and bug fixes in this one. Wow, it also opens way faster for me now. Thanks Meng, Noel, bakers and everyone involved in improving our magnificent DAW. 👍🏻
  18. Hi - I just ran into this, helping a friend who just bought a new Intel-based laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 port, and a brand-spanking new Presonus Quantum 2626 Thunderbolt 3 audio interface (BEAUTIFUL, and a beast). Anyways, he reported to me hearing pretty evident pops and crackles for anything running through the Quantum 2626 headphones, so after trying a few obvious things, effects, latency, ASIO Buffer Size, etc., I had him run both the laptop and the interface up to me, so I could take a better look into things, and work through Sweetwater tech support, on his behalf, if needed. SO - after confirming the rather horrendous pops and crackles for myself, I did some digging, and found a promising article on the Presonus web site, which is at the following link: Presonus article on Quantum series interface pops and crackles Sure enough, when I followed the steps in the above article, downloading the little freeware utility program, and disabling a couple C-State Idle settings, and applying the changes, the pops and crackles instantly went away, so I consider the issue resolved and that should be that. I just thought I would post the issue and its solution here, in case anybody else had purchased one of the Presonus Quantum series Thunderbolt interfaces. (the new 2626 is brand new and really just starting to ship, as of 2 weeks ago). The article was from 2019, so may apply to earlier Quantum series audio interface models. Hope this helps someone else, too Bob Bone
  19. Another big update. Please post any feedback directly in the linked thread.

  21. I've been using Windows 10 1803 on my DAW since 2019, when the 1903 update made everything very unhappy (Pops and clicks on my PCI audio card). I reset my DAW computer using the hidden partition and with the assistance of WinAero Tweaker disabling Windows Update, I've been there ever since. Super stable. No problems. Awesome. Until... I took advantage of an offer I couldn't refuse - upgrading Studio One 3 to the new shiny 6.1 version for a relatively small sum. Brilliant. Guess what: "This installer requires Windows 10 20H2 or later". WTF? Argh! Sad Panda. I wish I'd known this before purchase. Still... it was only a matter of time before my reticence to update became a problem; I feel grateful to have made it to 2023. Because I'm actually in the market for a new DAW computer, I said, screw it, we're going in. I'll update to the latest Windows 10, and if my PCI audio card doesn't make the journey with me, well, maybe I'll change my mind about the form-factor of the new machine and go with a USB interface from now on. Seriously wasn't looking forward to the tedious and possibly multi-stage task of upgrading from 1803 - 1809 - 1903 -> whatever it ended up being called -> 20H1... Bear with me, here. I go to the Windows Media Creation Tool page and it says, "Click here to update to the latest version of Windows 10!" Okay, doing it... What followed was 30 minutes of the most un-stressful update I've ever experienced. All my software appears intact. A quick test of playback seems to indicate that all is well with the audio card, didn't even need to reinstall the drivers, just a quick re-selection of MIDI ports in Cakewalk By Bandlab, which had become un-selected for some reason. So, that's a relief. Of course, it could still go terribly wrong.. but then I'll just have to console myself with a new computer and many hours of installing only the software I actually use. Thanks for listening. Oh... and, yes, WinAero Tweaker has let me disable Windows Update again. Better safe than sorry.

Acustica Ceil Channel Strip FREE until Feb 14 2019 From December 19, 2018 through February 14, 2019 you have the opportunity to add an incredible-sounding processor to your studio setup, completely free. Ceil features a powerful compressor - which can work as a general audio leveler or a full-blown dynamics destroyer - an incisive EQ section, pan and stereo spread controls, and a preamp.
