  1. I've just bent the headband on my ATH-M50x headphones, on both sides where it connects to the earpieces:- I obviously wouldn't recommend anyone try this at home but my headphones are not quite as tightly clamped around me head now. I now need to wear them for a long-ish session, see how they go.
  2. Interesting... Picking up on this because I recently "invested" in a pair of ATH-M50x headphones, having been using a pair of KRK KNS-8400 for around five years. The KRK's have been falling to bits for a while, now, hence trying the audio-technica 'phones. Like you say, I find the ATH-M50x 'phones get a bit uncomfortable after an hour or so. Although I suppose the experts will tell me that I should have my headphones on for that long at a sitting anyway. I have to wear reading glasses too and I have to remember to make sure that the arms are not inside the 'phone cushions. Okay... back to all the Tech Talk...
  3. Oh... I should have mentioned that I do everything in C Major, at 80 beats per minute
  4. Hiya Freddy, Love this blues tune! Good clear production, and I love them lyrics đź‘Ť Really nice work cheers andy

Hiya Peeps, Apologies for the late response! I have been quickly popping in and out in between creating another "masterpiece" and usual life things and each time another person has left a comment, so I thought I'd better reply myself, now, before any more comments flood in Haha! Yeah, I really do wish I was forty, again Fifty nine and a bit will have to do. Hiya Lynn Thank you very much for having a listen/watch Scott will probably be getting busier with his own stuff but I'm sure he'll do more stuff for me in the future. And I also need to get back on with my other, not so interesting stuff. cheers, andy Thank you very much, Freddy! More like a temporary diversion than a new direction, but I will certainly do the same again, once in a while. Thank you very much for having a watch/listen cheers andy Thank you very much, Joad, that is most interesting. Not that familiar with Supertramp other than their more popular tracks released back in the mid to late 70's. I guess I was into other things back then cheers, andy Hiya Grem! Thank you very much for taking the time to watch/listen Yes, I keep thinking that I should try some "Drone Metal" stuff. I have the gear... Just need to get down and do it. And in case anyone was wondering, Doom Metal is a thing:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drone_metal cheers, andy
  6. Hello @amiller I have just finished listening to Hope and Struggle and I have to agree that the melody throughout, plus the guitar playing and its tone is absolutely spot on. I also agree that no lyrics are required for something like this, the music speaks volumes. cheers andy
  7. Hiya @daryl1968 and team I first listened to this a couple of weeks ago but I am listening again now. Enjoying again... As has been said already, classic TFM production cheers andy
  8. Hiya @Wookiee A most enjoyable piece of Berlin School, my favourite kind of school Can't beat the Arturia stuff for this kind of music cheers andy

Thanks @amiller and @Johnbee58, Yes, I guess that where I don't do so well with structure and keys I have to make up in other ways and different layers of sequences is one way. Glad you picked up on that. And thanks for listening to Tangle. Thanks @Larry Jones Yes, we are both quite pleased at how this turned out. Of course, there are always improvements to be made but sometimes you have to say enough is enough and release your project to the world. Not sure how this would go with the ambient peeps though! Far too exciting! cheers andy Hi @bjornpdx Thanks for listening... Glad you enjoyed it, including trying to unravel the tangle haha! Yes, some Drone Metal should be on the cards some time in the future Hiya @daryl1968 Thanks, and thank you very much for listening to Tangle. I'll pass your comments on to Scott, my youngest (He was 30 in March, BTW) cheers andy Hiya @Wookiee Thanks for listening, and thanks for reporting back on the mix using your Adam speakers... Much appreciated. cheers andy
  10. No, never give up, so long as you enjoy the process... Singing didn't sound too bad to me to be honest and apart from a few of those drifting moments you actually stuck quite close to pitch, and you cover quite a range through the song.

Hi Peeps, I feel a little bit guilty posting something here after abandoning the old Songs forum during the demise of SONAR. Plus, my creations were getting more and more "ambient," let's say. Very much an acquired taste, although I always received many great comments during that time. Now? Well, I've gone even more off piste and I concentrated more and more on the drone. But, I thought I would at least post something here that has some oomph to it. Some structure, and even some kick ***** percussion. Normally I program my own percussion but for this track I enlisted the skills of my youngest son. He has been playing drums for a few years now but has only just recently starting playing with a couple of mates. He is strictly a metal head and doesn't like much what I do, ambient wise, but I asked him to come up with something for me. I said, "just play what ever you want... no particular style or feel." Besides, it's not like he's a well rounded jazz player. He practises when he can and plays within his preferred genre. He now has a Roland TD-17KVX electronic drum kit so I thought it would be a great idea to record the MIDI performance instead of the audio. I'm sure the purists will be aghast at this but, having recorded real drums before, and needing to spend a considerable amount of time fixing timing issues, MIDI seemed to be the best option, plus it allows the tweaking of the kit within what ever drum VST is used. In this case I opted for Battery 4, which at one point I thought was a mistake, having recently upgraded and not done anything with until now. I was quite surprised and disappointed that there was no ride bell samples and I had to raid my Battery 3 stuff to add one in. I'll post the YouTube video, which I created myself using Chaotica software, which produces Flame Fractals and animates them. I truly hope you enjoy and don't mind me posting here. cheers andy
  12. I've heard a lot of good reviews about those headphones... I am still using my KNS-8400 cans but I have also started using my Tannoy Reveal active monitors as I get closer to finishing the mix. And I also use SPAN, of course. Even my nearfields can't pick everything up, at the low end anyway. My hearing is good for nothing about 10kHz anyway...
  13. Hiya Douglas, Good song here. Can't be over critical of the mix and I thing it sounds okay. Having said that, as the song progresses I think I can hear quite a bit of compression, but not with the vocals. Not sure what I am saying here... It's as though the vocals are in a "different space," so to speak. Not that it is bad, of course, it is just something that I haven't been used to lately. I don't use compression at all with my stuff (generally) so I find that when I do hear its effects it kinda stands out to me. Anyway, take my words with a pinch of salt cos I don't know what I'm talking about haha Now I'm listening to The Gentle Hours of Evening... Another nice song this and I let it run rather than closing the browser. Like your singing Douglas cheers andy
  14. Hiya Lynn, how are you? Listening to Can't Wait right now. Sounding quite good on both cans and my nearfields... Good song. A place for everything, and everything in its place, as the saying goes I'm not picking up on the screechiness thing. Perhaps it appeals to me cheers andy

    Aliye

Hi Bjorn, It was a pleasant listen As for my stuff... It has been getting dronier and dronier I'm afraid. I do have a new one that has some kind of structure and even drums and I am currently plucking up the courage to post about it here... cheers andy
  16. I don't have anything specific at the moment Kenny, it was just a thought. If I was to provide you something it would be more along the lines that I did for @James G about 18 months ago. I'll PM you a link to that, so as not to clutter up your post here. cheers andy

Hi Bjorn, I really enjoyed listening to Aliye Nice work with the vocal samples and the accompanying music, it all fits nicely. cheers andy
  18. Hi Rob, Not listened to any new Bat's Brew stuff for a while... My loss... Anyway, this was a fun song. So many facets... Very enjoyable and on my second listen. Of course, me giving you any pointers would be a bit of a joke, so I'll leave it at that cheers andy
  19. Blimey, Bill, sorry to hear about that.
  20. Nice work Kenny Do you fancy "noodling" over a longer drone backing track? You would have to play a bit slower though........
  21. Adaptiverb has also been updated to 1.2.1 I reported a bug last week so I am hoping that the new version fixes that. Not had time to check it out yet.
