  1. Absoflippinlutely enjoyed the heck out of this song. I have said this before but at the risk of repeating myself too many times ---- you have quite a talent for blending sounds to come up with some wonderful music. I particularly enjoyed the introduction of that flute like sound (and the change up) that came in around 5:40. This is a long song but it kept my attention throughout. Very nice indeed!!! Oh ya, Dripples --- perfect title! Thanks for posting!

    Swedish Song

What a lovely song. Every instrument complements each other and the guitar is indeed very convincing. The mix is excellent with good separation. I really enjoyed this number. Great work!!!

    Sarabande

Please add me to the complements above. Not being a horn player, nor having much in the way of orchestral knowledge it sounded as if the lead horn was a French horn. Am I close?

    Hey There

Here is a little fictional story of what might happen when a guy meets and old flame. It is done in kind of a country-bluesy style. Most definitely it is not autobiographical. Actually, I posted this song a long time ago on the old Cakewalk Forum. I was pretty green, it was not very good, and I got a few suggestions for improvement. So, I took notes and removed it. I remembered it a few days ago, found the notes and opened up the working file to have another go at it. Hopefully, this version is somewhat better. Any crit's, comments, suggestions, etc. would be very much appreciated. Thanks and thanks to those that offered their comments way back when. HEY THERE https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481 BTW SoundClick has a new look. I think that I like it but I am still trying to get used to it.
  5. I love the piano in this song. Your songs have a great pop melody and style and this one certainly doesn't disappoint! The arrangement, performance, and mix sound really good. The lyrics are the real grabber. Unfortunately, with so much of the world's wealth belonging to just a few families, your lyrics certainly have relevance! I like the vocals. It is my take that this song targets John and Jane everybody, and your vocal adds to the credibility of the lyrics. As Thelonius Monk once said to a young jazz singer --- .. don't try and make your singing too perfect, let the emotion come through (or words to that effect). Well done Paul!!

    Forever

Hi Daryl. My wife and I have been together for a very long time (not quite forever) and the lyrics come from the relationship. I really appreciate your taking the time to listen and for the kind words. Hi Douglas. I'm very glad that you liked it and thank you very much for the kind words. The message came from genuine sentiment. Hi Old Joad. Thank you for listening and commenting. I really appreciate it!
  7. Hi Hidden Symmetry. Thanks, it's nice when the subject of the song can have relevance to some one. Back when I was a teenager, cars were the thing. A cat without a car -- well, that was a handicap. I appreciate that you took the time to listen and comment. Hi Kevin. Ya, I was kind of reaching back in style on this one but as a wee bit of a lad, I used to like this kind of music. I'm glad that it took you back. Thanks for listening and for your comments --- much appreciated.
  8. This is indeed a cool song and I agree with Old Joad that it does have a bit of Kink's feel. I really like a number of things about this song: lyrics, the tone of the rhythm guitars, the performance, arrangement, your vocals, and even the BGV's. The guitar panned hard right might be a bit loud but it doesn't distract too much from the song (IMHO). This song has a great rhythmic and melodic hook. Great work!!!
  9. I don't know how you do it Jesse but you manage to take a bunch of disparate sounds, vocals, and instruments and make them sound interesting and -yes- cool! Since this song has a harmonica ---- can I consider it a Blues song. ☺️
  10. Excellent number. It really builds and conveys emotion not only through the vocals but with that very nice lead guitar work. Great arrangement and performance. The mix sounds very professional and the vocals are terrific! Nice one!! Oh ya, that little noise at the end ----- cool!
  11. Absolutely beautiful Tom. It is nice to hear some instrumentals and it is even better when an instrumental can convey emotions even better than lyrics. I believe that instrumentals allow the listener to interpret the song from their own imagination. Wonderful song and wonderful performance!!
  12. Sorry David - I tried 4 separate times and got the message that the song was not there. I'll try again tomorrow.

    Forever

Hi Tom . Yup you are definitely right. We old guys have to stick together! Alice and I have been married for decades and it has been a great journey. You have a good eye but no the guitar is not a Vox Phantom but it is an EKO Ghost VI. Back in the 1960's EKO (an Italian Company) made a lot of the Vox Phantoms. A few years ago EKO briefly put out their version of the Phantom. The style and bridge are essentially the same but it is slightly slimmer than the Vox and the pickups and controls are more like a Stratocaster. It has a good sound however, and plays nicely but I bought it because I'm a sucker for the design. Thanks for listening and for the kind comments! Hi Keven. Thanks -- much appreciated. Hi Allan. Thanks for commenting. Nice but as Bjorn mentioned above -- always smart! Hi Bjorn. Roy Orbison -- cool -- I only wish that I could get those high notes that he used to sing. Thanks for listening and the encouragement!
  14. Yup --- I agree! You have started something that sounds good and definitely should carry on with it.
  15. Excellent!!! A classic intro that has a bit of a Ray Charles intro (during his early Bluesy days). Everything about this captures the classic combo blues style and feel. Excellent performance and recording. Y'all have captured that rhythmic flow that is so hard for many Blues bands to capture. Well done!!!
  16. A ballad (?) ----- cool!! To me it does have a bit of a Beatles feel but I would match that up with some of the Damned's early stuff. Keep 'em coming pal!
  17. I'll add my kudos to the ones above. This song does indeed have a very "big sky" cinematic feel to it. Nice one!!!
  18. A very clean, fresh sound indeed! It does have kind of a Sgt. Pepper-ish feel to it (that is a complement). The lyrics are very clever and the music has a bit of a cheeky flavour that matches the lyrics perfectly. Of course, the performance, vocals/harmonies, and mix are excellent.

Here is a simple little song that I wrote for my wife. Nothing fancy but just sincere. Comments, suggestions, crit.'s, etc., as always will be appreciated. Thanks. FOREVER https://www.soundclick.com/bands3/default.cfm?bandID=963481
  20. Aaaaaah --- the rhythm in this is great. Now this number is my favourite from you (probably until the next one). Style mate, you got style. Brilliant indeed!!!!
  21. Ha --- this must be your minimalist approach -- just a guitar and a Kazoo??? This is just doggone weird and boy am I loving it! Actually, the guitar work is bloody well interesting. Niceeeeeeeessss!!!!
  22. Very nice indeed!!! I love this Brazilian sound. I remember as a wee bit of a kid listening to and loving Brazil 66, and Astrid and Joao Gilberto. The performance on this is excellent and the mix sounds good to my ears. I really enjoyed this --- thanks for posting.
  23. Hey Bats -- you really got funked up for this number. Although I miss your vocals and harmonies , I also absoflippinlutely love a good instrumental and this is one good instrumental. Your playing is brilliant and the arrangement, mix, and performance are all up to your usual professional quality. I sure did feel better after listening to this song!!!
  24. Hot dog and yeehaw!!! This is it --- an old timey rock 'n roller. I love this man! I have a penchant for songs that tell a story and this tells a heck of a story. Ya, I know it, this has to be an autobiographical story. It all was great but the lyrics, "harp" and your outstanding vocals absoflippinlutely made this song. I could go on and on but I gotta go back and listen a few more times. Cooool stuff!!!
  25. Hi Kenny. Thanks very much. I appreciate your taking the time to listen and for the kind comments. Thanks again.
