  1. I thought about all the people that would like a high quality DAW and simply could not afford one. I am a very long time user of Sonar and now Cakewalk. I paid for every upgrade version. I am proud that my favorite DAW is still available and anyone can afford it. In a big way its something I can get behind and support. I too thank the Bandlab team. I also thank my fellow users for keeping the faith and staying the course. They too have been an important part of the success of the new and better Cakewalk by Bandlab.
  2. Actually we are on certain ground. Have you been unable to download Cakewalk? Are you using it? Is it working ? If all the answers are yes. That would mean to me that speculating with no basis to do so is unproductive.
  3. I think we can complain when we can no longer open Cakewalk. Until then the notion that we are renting, leasing or somehow not in control of getting Cakewalk and using it; we should simply stop speculating and make music. To me when they said it is free I have no reason to think otherwise. No one else does either.
  4. To me the definition of stem is a group of audio tracks. This has always meant to me a bus was involved. If on the other hand one wants to copy all the tracks as independent tracks the way I do it is select all tracks and don't mixdown. I export them. I also use broadcast wave files as the files output. This with ensure everything lines up in another DAW.

  6. John as a rule doesn't walk into a bar. I stumble in.
  7. In the Aria player you need to assign an out put for each instrument slot. It is done by changing the default 1/2 out to the one you want. Each slot has a number in the lower right. Just to the left of that is the output. It is going to be 1/2 until you change it. That number to the right is the MIDI channel. The 1/2 is out 1 and 2.

    AAF support

OMFI (Open Media Framework Interchange), or OMF for short, and AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) are both professional file formats intended to interchange session information between various audio and video applications.
  9. I see no reason not to implement this. So count me as +1
  10. For low latency audio one needs a good audio device with drivers that can give you low latency. The built in audio on most computers i.e. Realtek were never meant to do low latency audio. Though later Realtek chips and drivers do include ASIO. I have not bothered to see how well they preform. An inexpensive audio device with the right specs can be had for around $100 or less. I do not recommend ASIO4all but some have reported usable results with it.
  11. If you don't overwrite the original MIDI file you can open it in Cakewalk and delete the tracks you don't want and export that with a different name. Don't save the edited file and the original will be preserved. Or if you want simply save it with a different name too. Cakewalk, Sonar and Pro Audio are non destructive DAWs.
  12. Have you tried closing the top and then press play and then stop? You might try pushing down on the cassette gently.
  13. Heck, I didn't know that one could do all that the plugin manager could do in the browser. Cool.
  14. Yep, thats pretty clear. I'll be sad to see it go but life goes on.
  15. No it doesn't, Still we need to think of others here. Not everyone is an adult. Also why is it being placed in a thread about having a techniques forum? That is called off topic. It is not considered good forum conduct. Please read the Community Guidelines https://blog.bandlab.com/community-guidelines/.
  16. Please remember this forum is open to everyone. Young and old alike. We don't need to go off topic in order to tell a suspect joke.
  17. I really like these plugins. The GT Analyzer is very easy to read. I like the look too. Yes it took me some redoing and re-redoing to get it set in its proper place. Alls well that ends well. I agree they are a great addition to the tools. I really like the clean look.
  18. The keybinding for the PRV {Piano Roll View) is Alt-3. If you have MIDI data on a track you can double click on it to get to the PRV.

    AAF support

Cakewalk needs to support AAF. The Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) is a multimedia file format that allows you to exchange digital media and metadata between different systems and applications across multiple platforms. Metadata include fades, automation, and processing information. Cubase supports it so does Studio One. Please support it.
  20. I think it was very useful on the old forum. I'm not sure if the Bandlab people want to duplicate the old forum. However, things are still new and it may be that a little time is needed to sort things out.
  21. Welcome Starrise. I think you are asking questions with a title that is saying it is a Q&A. That implies you have answers. Or it could be you are asking about the forum. I take it you want to know how people are using Bandlab with Cakewalk? I am not sure exactly what is being asked.
