  1. Another Great one! Great playing and lyrics. I liked the gravel in your voice. Enjoyed it . mark
  2. @timboalogo Thanks for the quick response. I really like someone to get Picky! I just worked on the kick drum and piano per Gary's suggestions. It sounded a Lot better. The intro bothered me as well after listening a few times thru. It seemed like a different guitar was doing the intro. I may have to automate an EQ for that part. Never done it before but I'll figure it out. As far as the snare , I'll do what I can . I'll Never load up these SI drums again without having Full access to each drum. Something else to learn . Thanks .. mark
  3. Thanks Gary , I Always respect and listen to your opinions. I'm also having a problem with the kick And the bass. I'm on it. Except for the intro , the panning is constant , but the L/R rhythm guitar tracks are somewhat syncopated and may be causing a problem near the end. The lead guitar lives between the two. I'll look at it. Years ago I traded this guitar to my best friend for a cello. He recently passed away and willed it back to me. This is more than just another song to me , I really appreciate the help. I'm open to any suggestions from any of the great forum members here. Thanks .. mark
  4. P.S. I loved the photo of the young girl flipping me off. I was hoping it was a stock photo but couldn't find it on line.

    Yairi

Here's one I'm trying to finish up and could use some help on. First time recording with my DY-77 Yairi , first time trying to use cb-1 headphones for mixing. I keep going back and forth between phones and monitors and no longer trust my ears. It's pretty minimal , drums/bass , 3 acoustic tracks and SI elec. piano thru arp. Thanks for the listen . mark New link further down. Sorry ..
  6. Well done and Very creative. That was quite a trip you took me on . I believe this was a lot more than just a little different... mark
  7. Fantastic ! That was so calming with just the right amount of tension with the minor chord phrases. Great performance and mix. mark
  8. Lee , I believe the break from writing worked out . This was great and full of energy. Fine job on the vocals and harmony. Enjoyed everything about it . mark
  9. That was Very well written and performed. I really like the deep crispness in your voice and loved the tone of the backing guitars. Nearly a 6 min song it didn't seem long at all. Great job mark
  10. Thanks for the wonderful reply's and comments. I guess I need do do some more short ones .. @DeeringAmps did you take your Justin Bieber poster down yet ? @Barry Seymour The full mix is on a flash drive somewhere. I'm neck deep in a new song now , I'll probably get back to it soon. The low fi hiss was probably swamp gas . This was actually written about the BP oil spill while I was on the coast. My younger brother sang it like Forrest Gump. I'll have to rework it. Thanks .. mark

    Bayou Bill

Here's a dedicated real quick one. Someday the full song may make the cut .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/bayou-bill-reprise
  12. Great one Jesse! Loved the mix and tones. The synth was extremely nice. Pretty trippy .. mark

    road No. 1922

Very nice Surf music. I enjoyed it all the way thru. I wish I had a guitar with a tremolo bar , it sure adds a lot. The video was nice and kept my attention as well. Enjoyed it .. mark
  15. It's amazing what comes out of your head .. I liked it , but not sure if I enjoyed it.
  16. Treesha , I Liked it ! Couple of timing glitches that got my attn. mainly on some drum parts. I'd mute the vocals and bring the drums up until' my head started bobbing , then bring the vocals Up. Both seem to be way too low . Around the 2 min. mark , it sounded like you doubled the vocals. That sounded Good. Maybe more doubling in the verses. Great to hear you singing . I have No problem boosting another singers vocals , but when it comes to mine , I'm always way too conservative. Boost the vocals .. If the get too hot believe me , someone will tell you. Great song I Really enjoyed it .. mark
  17. Your active speakers should be plugged directly into the output of your interface. The sound card in your interface will be Much better than your pc audio card. Focusrite usb should be the input and output device in your daw and pc. If the right side green light of your interface is On and your drivers are installed and your Master track is being output to your interface you should be good to go. If you set the interface as output device does the headphone jack on the solo work as it should ? 1st and 2nd gen are supposed to work with win 10 if that's what your on. May need to go to Focusrite and get new drivers .. ??
  18. Extremely smooth and that was quite a trippy video. Seems like you couldn't take your eyes away from it. I thought the talking like synth was Very cool. I did miss not hearing your signature violin parts. Love it ... mark
  19. I believe you could could go to utilities /clean audio folder/find files . This will show all of the audio files no longer being used by the project. One or more of these files could be problematic. I've never had a problem deleting all of them , but it can't be undone and will clear your undo/redo history. You could always Backup your project before doing this. I've seen these files get Huge in a long project with lot of multiple takes. Just something to consider while troubleshooting . mark
  20. Great guitar work! This to me sounds like a song that should be driven Hard with the bass and drums. It's very funky. When the timing issues are resolved , I'd grab the faders/pan knobs and just start over on the mix. I believe this song could be Stellar. mark
  21. Great job ! I thought your vocals were Very good on this one. Maybe bring them up a db. I didn't think the lead guitar was shaky at all , but could be mixed back a little and back up at the very ending. I could hear and feel a delay problem , but for me it was the timing of the delay on the Piano instead of the vocals. I really liked the cinematic feel you got here. Enjoyed it .. mark
  22. What an incredibly "beautiful" voice you have. Very stirring and well performed. Love the guitar and tone , I hope to hear more from you .. mark
  23. Hello , Thanks for the listen and suggestions. I made some eq changes smoothing out the bass and lowered some of the high mids reducing some of the piercing freq's. Also added a little plate reverb giving the TTS stuff a little reverb tail. I "think" it's a little better. Thanks ... mark
  24. I've seen this happen on a friends computer that had slow internet. I don't remember the spinning but I do remember it still showed it was downloading. It had already downloaded but the top page didn't clear out. The next step was hiding behind the page. You can do an internet test of your download speed pretty easily if you google it. If it's not in the neighborhood of dial up speeds there is probably something on your pc blocking or slowing it down until it just times out. I'm still on Win 7 and with usually around 70 Mb /sec download speed and can download Bandlab assistant and CbB in 8 min.
  25. @David Sprouse Rachael is an android who thought she was human from the original Blade Runner movie. Even if you're not a syfy fan , it's well worth watching for the music score. This track would make more since knowing the Blade Runner feel. @Wookiee I've already done the pre mastering. That's what I was referring to for suggestions. You wouldn't want to hear the original raw track. The pulsing bass arp would be cool, but the main point of this was to see what I could get out of a single guitar track. @jack c. I'll try a touch of the high pass. Thanks .. mark
