  1. This song has definitely captured the Brazilian sound and the second try sounds much better. I agree with the above comments - the sax sounded absoflippinlutely great! I also appreciated your use of the vibraphone (sounded as good as the sax). Excellent work!
  2. Hi RikF. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and for the kind comments. Much appreciated and I'm glad that you liked it. Hi Jesse. I wish I could remember the name of the band that did the cover of the Everly Brothers" arrangement of the Little Richard original - gasp for breath -- the band that prompted me to do this cover, I mean!. Thanks very much for the kind words. BTW, I loved your new post "Leave Your Phone At Home" -- most cool! Hey Wookie. Thanks for listening and commenting! Loved your recent post (TD 2). Hey tom. Thanks for posting the original and originator of "Lucille" I remember the first time I heard it --- I was floored! The Everly Brothers I would try, but I would never attempt to try Little Richard. Only Little Richard can do Little Richard. If I did try I would probably tear up my vocal cords and break something else of my physicality. Thanks for listening and your encouragement!!

    TD 2

"It has to be fun ๐Ÿ™ƒ no point if there is no fun." Amen to that! I also made it to the end but I enjoyed it so much that the end came much too soon. This in spite of the fact that I have a tempestuous relationship with things synth, MIDI, etc, ; the fact that I can't do it well; and I am not conversant in the language of this genre. I always enjoy the songs that you post and look forward to the new ones. Well done my furry friend!!!
  4. Hi Lynn. This song really demonstrates your style. You do write some great lyrics and your vocals certainly complemented the angst of the lyrics. As always, you come up with some great guitar accents and leads. I too was caught off guard at the end but doggone -- it works -- cool! Oh yea that bass line really drives it along. Great work pal!!!
  5. The pie was delicious, thank you! This song was also a treat. Loved that guitar panned right and I agree with the sentiment of the song! It doesn't really sound like them but for some reason this song reminds me a wee bit of the Gang of 4 (the band). Most COOL!
  6. What an interesting piece. Love the funky feel to this and the ending. There are a lot of change ups, different, instrumentation --- actually there is a lot going on ----- and it all works!!! It is most definitely COOL!
  7. I have often wondered how they did this type of singing. This is one of the most different song that i have heard and one of the most interesting. It is weird but you have compiled it all in to a piece that is actually quite beautiful ! Excellent work pal!!
  8. This is the first time (and probably the last) that I have submitted a cover song. A long time in a place far away, I was listening to our local community radio station when I heard this absoflippinlutely great rendition of the Everly Brothers arrangement of the Richard Penniman (Little Richard) song Lucille. For any "Youngbloods" reading this, that are not familiar with this song by these artist, I recommend that you go on YouTube and bend an ear to both the Everly and Little Richard recordings. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the band but I quickly plugged in my guitar are recorded a couple of tracks of what I remembered. A while ago I ran across this this recording and finished it up. As always I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, crit's, etc. but as this is my first time (for a cover) please be gentle. Thanks. LUCILLE ( A COVER) https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481
  9. Definitely a cool piece. It has a very cinematic sound to it and would complement the video of modern western or modern film noir movie. The change-up near the middle --- ya cool!
  10. Another enjoyable piece Jack. I must agree with Nigel --- the lyrics are worth bringing the vocal up. The vocals and instrumentation really work well!
  11. Excellent piece Bjorn! The science of the very large (Relativity) to the science of the incredibly small (Quantum physics) is absoflippinlutely mind boggling and this piece adds an visual and aural perspective. Boy -- you are getting good at this stuff!!

    TD 1

TD = Touch Down indeed! You earned the points on this one and I don't even follow football (American). Another masterful piece!
  13. Excellent work!!! Video, music (arrangement, instrumentation, vocals, mix, etc.) are top notch!
  14. Great work! I like this better than the original! I think that the vocals are great as is the key. They put your signature on this cover.
  15. For noodling around that is some good guitar playing. You have gotten great sounds from the TH3 --- clear, resonate and great tone. Very nice indeed!!
  16. Hi Bjorn, Thanks very much for the kind words and encouragement. They are very much appreciated! Hey Jesse. Thanks very much pal -- I was going for some grit! I have also used (not on this song) an an old VST plugin which has been upgraded to X64. It is the California Sun which a take on the old mid 1950's Fenders and it has a nice raw sound. Hi Hidden Symmetry. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. I'm glad that you liked it!

Definitely cool visuals and fun song that keeps one listening. Well done!
  18. Hi Riff. Thank you you very much. I very much appreciate your comments. Hey Wookiee. Thank you very much pal!!! Hmmmmm, I have heard of "Blue Suede Shoes" but I wonder if there is such a thing as suede Blues shoes? Thanks again!!
  19. Just listened to #3 Jesse. Love it! We don't get much snow in central and south Florida (not impossible though). However, you provide some good advise to be followed for hurricanes. PACK UP AND GO!

What a nice song. Being old enough to remember, this song has a bit of that late 1960's - early 1970's feel to it. Your vocals are great and I love that bass! Cool song -- it had me smiling!!

    GOING SOUTH

I'm sorry to hear about your DYI incident and hope that you are on the mend! What a nice song! Your lyrics, instrumentation, and vocals are great! There are a few "idiosyncrasies" as mentioned above but given your talent I am sure you could quickly address them. Well done!!
  22. Excellent song, performance, video, production, etc!!! I rather liked the ending. Y'all are indeed standard setters! The only standards that you could exceed are your own. Did I mention that this was really excellent? Good luck on the new album!!
  23. The mix sounds good and you have presented some very good guitar playing. In fact all the instrumentation sounds great!!
  24. Love it! Since I have been listening to Latin American Afrobeat 5minutes and 17. this seems like a short song. That riff that plays panned right reminds me a bit of one similar in Devo's cover of Satisfaction. Lyrics and vocal really add to the music (or is it the other way around?). No matter --- I really enjoyed the listen. Well done!
  25. Not being a synth or MIDI guy, I didn't understand your description above. However, no matter! I loved the sounds and the mix sound very good! Nice!!!
