  1. From my experience, I'm fairly certain the "Yo" is NOT optional but required . . .
  2. I had this exact problem as well after setting up a new PC and moving old projects over. After working with support the only fix that worked was load project in safe mode without Breverb then re add Breverb and save it. After that the projects load and run fine.
  3. He never played with the band, but gave them their name and they became friends. Interesting article https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/marshall-tucker-namesake-of-iconic-southern-rock-band-has-died/
  4. And just like that my problem is solved . . . Thanks!
  5. This exactly!! I currently have 3 'decent' sized screens and have been pricing a bigger one to see if that helps And for the record - I run Cake across two screens and use the other for plug ins, lyrics etc.
  6. Anyone know where the files would be stored for the custom workspace? Built a new PC and everything is up and running flawlessly (Took a couple days but hey). The only thing I can't find is the dang workspace I had saved. I'm sure it's stupid to ask but I can't seem to find it.
  7. Kinda surprised not to see Bad Company or AC/DC mentioned by anyone . . .
  8. "The devil made me do it the first time, the second time I done it on my own" Waylon Jennings - "Black Rose"
  9. Why wouldn't you just use the "Export" feature . . . ? Am I missing something? Export the two tracks to an .mp3 file seems like the simplest answer.
  10. Ralphie had made that old Red Rider work for years but this year Black Bart was finally going to be dealt with . . .
  11. In a case like that you might find it far easier to use a keyboard or drum machine and a virtual kit to manually 'play' the drums along with your track and slowly build your own drum track that matches the variance of the original audio track. I use Session Drummer 3 and a USB Keyboard but you should at least have SI Drums if you haven't purchased any add=on Virtual Drum kits. I do this periodically when I can't find a midi or acid loops that captures the feel of the song I'm writing.

    Tempted

My first Cakewalk was a MIDI only sequencer that came with a (supposedly) 'Pro' level SoundBlaster soundcard. Had it hooked to my Roland TR-505 drum machine and that into my TASCAM PortaOne 4 track . . . My external gear was one acoustic guitar, some shakers and a kids Casio keyboard. Still have all of it except the Casio. Actually some of the best songs I ever wrote came out of that setup. With some help from, well . . . not legal at the time, things. Broke and single gives you a lot of time to focus on music LOL
  13. I have really fallen in love with my Katana 212 MK II. GREAT sounding live but also a joy to DI into Cakewalk
  14. I have a number of "go toos" . . . maybe too many . . . I do play out live and not only recording though so . . .
  15. Sorry to hear about that bitflipper - Hope you are able to get it back to where you need! My two hobbies are woodworking and music (not only writing / recording, but playing live). When woodworking I use any number of extremely dangerous and unforgiving power tools. My biggest fear is that one day I make a mistake and a blade grabs a finger . . . or worse! I am always *very* mindful of where my fingers are 100% of the time and use every safety device I can. Music has got me through some incredibly tough times and I can't even imagine not being able to play!
  16. If you are using Session Drummer - I had the same issue - Make sure you have any MIDI loops unselected in the SD3 interface. Took me forever to figure this but it seems if you have a loop selected in SD it will play one time along with whatever tracks you are playing when you hit "play" in Cake. If you aren't using Session Drummer ignore me I don't know anything . . .
  17. Well this "old" thread taught me something new . . . Gonna try pitch correction on my bass tracks now . . .
  18. If you don't mind me asking - Sonarworks also does speaker/room calibration - why do you use ARC instead? is it that much better or . . . ?
  19. Not putting any more cash in NI's pocket myself . . . I have bought Guitar Rig 4 Pro and 5 Pro. I can do the deal and get 6 for $99 or . . . As a long time loyal customer I can get the special upgrade price - $99 . . . Gosh NI! Thanks for rewarding us!
  20. Can I include a fellow bassist . . . ? I think Molly Hatchet"s original bassist, Banner Thomas is way underrated. Check out the tone and licks in this isolated bass track from "Flirtin' with Disaster" So deep and rich with such clear highs. I'm currently playing in a Molly Tribute band and still can't quite capture this . . .
  21. I like that! Not a bad tune. Are the guitars real or synth?
  22. Thanks - I went ahead and bought this as I have been only using Session Drummer 3 and it seems there have been no updates/add-ons for a while and I'm guessing there will be none so maybe time to try a new drummer out. Decent price considering the normal cost

    Decide to Stay

Thank you both!! - Yea, one of my shortcomings is I don't have lead/solo guitar skills so I chopped the area out that would have had that. If I can hook up with someone who has those skills or, really good keyboard skills I think I could make my music so much better.

    Decide to Stay

First time sharing anything here as I was never happy with any mix but these pages and a lot of you other users have taught me a lot so . . . Posting this in hopes of attracting someone who would like to collaborate on a lot of other songs I have written. I have some good Country & Hard Rock / Metal tunes that I feel could be great tunes with another set of eyes and ears to pick up my slack LOL Decide to Stay - Sawmill Music
  25. Would these work with Session Drummer or Addictive Drums? Or do I need something else?
