    Uninstalling error

Sounds like a question for the maker of the uninstall software. Uninstalling Cakewalk is a function provided by BandLab Assistant, however; this is nothing more than running the uninstaller added during the install process. Like most Windows uninstallers, it does not completely remove all traces of the program and its supporting files. Hence the creation of the 3rd party uninstaller industry. That said, the uninstall provided by BA is often sufficient for those trying to lay down a fresh copy of the software. For those really wanting to remove everything related to CbB, a clean uninstall, part of the clean install process, is documented here https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab, It is an adaptation of the clean install instructions originally supplied by Cakewalk to completely remove all of their products. As such, these instructions remove not only CbB but all the legacy Cakewalk products too. The process handles all of the bits left over after running the Windows uninstallers. It may be a little too aggressive for some though, as step 9 removes the default VST2 folders C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins and C:\Program Files(x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins which may contain 3rd party plug-ins not installed by BA or legacy Cakewalk installers. If one is in the habit of installer 3rd party plug-ins in these folders, it may be a good idea to make a safety copy/backup of these folders before deleting the Cakewalk folders.
  2. Creating mp3 files will take longer than wav files but a 3 minute project with 5 or so tracks tracks should take seconds to render. With fast bounce disabled and audible bounce enabled it should create the export in 3 minutes. Is is possible the real length of the project is much more that 3 minutes? IOW, some data far to the right on the timeline causing the export to create a very large file. Select All tracks and look at the selection time in the export module.
  3. An aux track is a regular audio track with a renamed patch point for its input. They may be created using the menu or by adding an audio track and setting the input to patch point. Rename the patch point as desired.
  4. There is a section of the forum dedicated to themes. At the top of that section is a sticky post detailing the changes When images get resized, if the user theme contains modifications to the images they must be recreated to the new size.
  5. Try setting the driver mode in preferences to WASAPI shared or exclusive.

    Tritik Krush FREE

AFAIK its always been free https://www.tritik.com/product/krush/
  7. During install Rapture Session/Pro checks for legacy synth installs and copies their programs into its program folder. This means Cakewalk Sound Center, Dimension Pro and Rapture Classic must be installed prior to installing Rapture Session/Pro. If the legacy programs are missing from Rapture Session/Pro, re-run its installer.
  8. 2021.04 build 147 has been superseded by early access to 2021.04 Update 1 posted here
  9. It appears to be a separate account. After completing the support login, I can still access BA, this forum and BandLab website using my original ID and password created during the migration from Cakewalk.
  10. Don't have much experience with BandLab but based on this post it does not appear to be the case This forum was created for Cakewalk by BandLab. While there may be a few BandLab users here there is very little information/discussion about the DAW here. As integration between CbB and BandLab improves this may change. Unfortunately, there is no forum dedicated to BandLab but there is a Facebook group and support@bandlab.com
  11. I was roaming the menu and clicked on the support link on the help menu. It appears there is a new account database for support. The login screen supports authentication via Google/Twitter and email. One of the screens mentioned that if I had sent them email in the past my account was already set up and I needed to request a new password. Otherwise, I needed to create a new account. Since I had sent email to support in the past I... requested a new password, got a link via email, followed the link, added a password and the support page opened.
  12. try the 2021.04 Update 1 Early Access release in this thread In addition to a link to the release is information about Error Detection and its the setting in Preferences > File - Initialization File
  13. Here is info about the plug-ins bundled with CbB. Rapture Session is not included with CbB. Rapture Session is a separate installer available from your old Cakewalk account and through the Cakewalk Command Center. Cakewalk Command Center is the easiest way to install and active the plug-in. Either way, you will need to use your old single sign-on to gain access to the old Cakewalk site. If you forgot your password, contact support@cakewalk.com to have the password reset. If your old machine still has Cakewalk Command Center installed consider copying over "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads". This folder contains all the installers previously downloaded from Cakewalk. The Command Center checks this folder before downloading installers. It can save a lot of time. If the last version of 64bit SONAR was not installed prior to installing CbB consider uninstalling CbB then performing a full install of the last version of SONAR. If you have a long history with SONAR and want to build a more complete setup from the various versions read this
  14. issues regarding the "lastest" version of CbB should be made in the feedback thread specifically created for the current version. That said, "latest version" lacks precision, a better method is detailing the version info in the About screen. The current production release is 2021.04 build 144. As a result of issues with build 144 a new Early Access build was released today
  15. ASIO4All has nothing to do with MIDI. ASIO has nothing to do with MIDI. ASIO4All was developed as a way for a user to connect Windows Audio to software that required an ASIO driver. ASIO4All is not a driver, it is a wrapper for Windows WDM drivers. The reason ASIO is preferred is a well written ASIO driver provides the audio interface optimized communication with the DAW. This is not the same as using ASIO4All because ASIO4All is just a middleman making WDM drivers look like an ASIO driver to the DAW. In addition to ASIO, CbB natively supports all the Windows audio driver modes. WASAPI modes are the best choice for Win10 systems when using the PC audio chip. Older OSes should use WDM. MME is the most compatible but the poorest performing, hence, it is the last choice. WRT using a MIDI keyboard controller with CbB, maybe this thread will give you a few ideas There are several beginners videos about how to use MIDI, see the tutorials section of this forum for links to them.

    Change output

It may not be a problem with the export. It may be a problem with the playback software. To determine if the problem is the export or the playback, import the exported file back into CbB. If the imported file sounds the same as the original project when played in CbB, the problem is the playback software. Make sure Windows and the playback software do not have any audio "enhancements" enabled.
  17. Mercury, a theme included with CbB features a light PRV. As do some light and dark user themes mentioned in the link above. For example, all three of my themes use the Mercury PRV. The theme setting is in CbB preferences.
  18. One tool to speed up simple drum map creation is ins2map. From the old forum http://forum.cakewalk.com/SONAR-Cakewalk-by-BandLab-CbB-Resources-and-Utilities-m3392713.aspx#3481456

    Change output

ASIO limits hosts to using one I/O driver at a time. To switch drivers deselect both input and output then make a new selection.
  20. I do not know about Zoom devices. Most audio interfaces have a way to monitor their inputs directly without going through the DAW. Doing this and monitoring from the DAW at the same time will case an echo because the direct signal arrives at the monitors/headphones before the return signal from the DAW.
  21. Make sure input echo is not enabled on the tracks being recorded. Input echo is the button right of the record button on track headers in the track view.
  22. This is one of the first posts on the forum
