  1. Cheers! Really appreciate the advice. Think I'll download the upgrade and do a bit of checking old tracks.
  2. Many thanks scook, that helps clarify things for me. I think I'll buy 5 while it's on offer. I don't use Melodyne often but it's extremely handy sometimes. Just a little concerned that, if I ever want to go back and remix an old track where I used version 4, 5 won't work on it. Really appreciate you taking the time to answer.
  3. Many thanks for the information. It says this on the trial version - Installing the trial version will overwrite your existing Melodyne plug-ins. This is technically unavoidable, unfortunately, because for reasons of compatibility the Melodyne 5 plug-ins use the same plug-in ID and can therefore not be operated in parallel. The new trial version, however, will not affect your license or the stand-alone implementation of your existing Melodyne. 'When you have finished using the Melodyne 5 trial version, you can simply download from your user account the installation program for your previous Melodyne and reinstall it, thereby restoring your existing working environment.' Do I understand it to mean that if I download the trial version , any melodyne edits I've made in older tracks will be lost? But then if I purchase version 5 I can download the old version too and things will be restored or can't 4 and 5 be on the same computer?
  4. I've been a Sonar user for years, then Cakewalk of course. Recently bought a new computer and have successfully downloaded Cakewalk and all add ons and got everything working. However, I when I fire up melodyne it asks me to register version 5 with a serial number. I've gone into my Melodyne account and there is only the serial number for Melodyne 4 essential. I tried that but got nowhere. Currently when I open Melodyne everything is greyed out. Tried searching on the forums here but haven't found the answer. Can anyone help? Thanks
  5. I tried that earlier without success, but it's worked this time Maybe it's the order of things? I've been installing and uninstalling to try get everything right. Many thanks once again, you've rounded up quite a frustrating day on a positive note. Cheers!
  6. Hello Scook, many thanks your answer was very helpful and I'm mostly fixed now. Just lacking D-pro and rapture classic in Rapture session, which I had before so any advice there too would be handy. Thanks once again!
  7. Some help needed please. I've been using Cakewalk since it started and Sonar before that. Just got a new PC and have downloaded Cakewalk and have brought my projects over from my old computer. When I open it up and it scans the VSTs it can't find Rapture Session (synth rack) - message reads 'that it may be missing or imoroperly installed on your system'. All other VSTs are fine it seems. What should I do?
  8. Thanks for the comments so far. Seems I have to give up on Sound centre but true pianos, lounge lizard and rapture all appear to be ok. The ongoing problem I have is that other VSTs I've downloaded all continue to click, no matter what buffer size. CPU usage is low, my hard drive is only half full and I'm not running lots of complex tracks at the moment. The VSTs I've downloaded so far have been 32 bit. Should I have downloaded the 64s? Virus protection isn't running in the background either btw. Didn't have this problem before the windows 10 upgrade.
  9. Having upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 I've tried to use the instruments in Sound Center but there's lots of clicking. Tried every thing I know, buffer size etc. but even when the buffer is as high as possible it still clicks occasionally and of course there is too much latency when recording. I've been using Sonar, now Cakewalk for years but never had these kinds of problems before so a bit inexperienced at fixing them, it has always run smoothly. I'm using a Scarlett 18i20 1st generation in case that might be part of the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks
