  1. Looking forward to trying these out Mathew - thanks again ! There's a new CbB version to download today - great timing.
  2. I thought that bounce to clips will resolve associated clips to a track and to a single audio file. Is this a mis conception on my part? I haven't really dug deep into the file architecture since upgrading to Sonar Pro - and then to CbB.
  3. I just copied this from another active thread - maybe this will help your workflow ? At least with a convenience of track selection. Sorry not sure how to point to another thread. Yes, ALT+click on the bus number will select the tracks sending to it. Sends have a pre/post fader switch. The output is post fader. Functionally a post fader send is the same as routing the output to a bus. Pre-fader sends are useful for sidechains. Sending tracks to another track using a patch point or an aux track can serve the same function as a bus except the it is located in the track area. Some like to see "buses" next to the tracks. Some prefer the have buses in the bus area.
  4. Just to clarify - there is a GRID SNAP and there is a CLIPS LOCK. I can't think of a reason that Splat would handle it and CbB would have an issue. Maybe you can attach the original midi file? I'll try the same scenario to save as a type I - then assign some instruments to it.
  5. Make sure the grid snap is off? I can't see another scenario where you can't drag a track anywhere you like. Make sure the clips are not locked ? I'm curious if any meta data that might be embedded in the file could restrict any manipulation of the clip. I can't imagine that.... but there's plenty I don't know about a lot of things.
  6. For me - Bass and Kick usually work pretty well together. Getting guitars and rhodes / synths, rhythm guitars out of the basses way is more of my challenge. I'm confounded by mixes of bands like the Eagles - where there are literally 4 guitars and four vocals and a keyboards and drums all going on at once - and it's possible to pick out each instrument. I've learned to really hate professional engineers. Usually the real key is in the composition and arraignment. So - now I've learned to really really hate professional producers.
  7. Thanks much Mathew !....... I can appreciate the patience it takes to work on these themes, for me - doing a few basic edits gets me a little exhausted. I'm sure it's just learning a workflow method.
  8. CbB is currently working great with my WIN7 platform.
  9. Make sure the tracks ( patch) and ( bank ) select are assigned to -none- . It sounds like you're using the track as just a midi thru for real time instrument play. Not clear if any meta data sent when initiating play for midi tracks. Also check the various assignments in the < project > midi preferences. The only other things that might generate midi data is the metronome or appregiator - I can't see them sending patch assign data though.
  10. I am getting a persistent "silent output assigned " dialog when opening a project. It pertains to one particular track and I have gone through ALL track and buss output assignments - as well as all hidden and archived tracks. There is no output assigned to any but the current interface. Is there anyway to purge this message? - or does anyone have any other suggestions to remove the fault. There are no consequences to the message besides pausing for user input before opening the project. The project is a number of years old and was likely produced in Sonar 5 originally. I can't recall if I had any froze any tracks in the past. Should I somehow re instantiate all Track / Buss output assignments? - just for the sake that re-assigning them might clear the dialogue?
  11. Noel, I want to thank you and wish you a happy new year. I've been a very long time - Twelve tone / Cakewalk / Sonar /Band Lab user and have projects going back well over 20 years. I can still open them all these years later - That's a testament to your good works and efforts. You guys are the best in the business.
  12. Thanks for the great work on the theme. I was hoping there was a way to add track colors without the pastel looking panel color - coloring just the bands looks great. OK - Edited, I guess I'm a loon - When I try to color tracks in either track view or console view - I'm getting the full panel colored as well, not sure what I'm seeing in the images in the first post. But it looks like the track has an identified color band but the panel itself isn't colored - how can I get that look ?
  13. The keyboard shortcut to bypass of effects globally is < E> . Make sure you're not inadvertently hitting that key when typing. I've caught myself doing this once or twice.
  14. I would suggest moving the amp off of the wall a bit as well, that can introduce a phase issue being so close.
  15. I was looking for a decent Vibes sample set a few months ago and ended up buying Orange trees' Instrument on a group buy. Thanks for recommending this one - I'll check it out. My only other option would be a hardware synth.
  16. I hope it can pick traction on in house development/ < sales> and eventually offerings from 3rd party vendors.
  17. I have a large selection of expensive plugs that I've collected for years plus a rash of UAD plugs. I'm liking the Prochannel stuff more and more each time I use them. They're very good quality plugs. I came from Sonar Pro and didn't really get the opportunity to upgrade before Gibson went south on us. I'd love to gain that awesome set of pro channel modules in the OPS post -were the VKFX modules available at one time through the old Cake site? I would gladly pay for the chance to upgrade to the full ( old SPLAT ) feature set.
  18. A large amount of my time is editing audio and aligned midi synced tracks. I tend to work back and forth on each sometimes just a few notes worth at a time, sometimes chopping large clips. I think it would be huge improvement to work flow if we were able to lock horizontal scaling between the Track View for audio editing and the Piano Roll view for midi editing. I think I spend 50% of my editing time resizing views between PRV and TrackView.
  19. RBH

    Visual Clip Gain

That sounds like a cool future feature.
  20. Would it possible to incorporate a screen set save feature that defaults to ( as left ) - meaning the last saved screenset or the last configuration attributes are opened with the next file load?
  21. I've wandered in here from the old neighborhood.
