  1. I think this is a great suggestion because implementation would make track insertion consistent between views. Thanks @Starship Krupa for the suggestion. I wish I'd thought of it first!
  2. @bob@blueneptune.com, I support your idea with the understanding the user will be able to choose the operation in preferences. My assumption is you are thinking of the tracks, staff and piano roll views, am I correct? Have I left out any views?
  3. I support the idea of Cakewalk by BandLab supporting the use of external mono hardware devices. Oh, by-the-way, bump!
  4. @Starship Krupa, You've got a great idea here. Please start a separate thread so your idea can receive the visibility it deserves.
  5. I support your suggestion for offline help to work better. Having said that I believe forum member @scook maintains an add-on application at his website that binds the offline support feature to the Cakewalk Reference Guide as well as additional features you may find useful. Hopefully Steve will see this post and chime in with a link.
  6. Mike, I enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for explaining, and demonstrating, why you like to have snap-to-grid and position the play head before opening up windows that have position text boxes in them. That saves a lot of typing. You might want to include a link to your video about creating a tempo map that matches a pre-recorded audio track.
  7. @mdiemer, No need to beat you up over your computer using Windows 7. This laptop computer started with Windows Vista, then Windows 7 and was not updated to Windows 10 until February. I was leery of Windows 10 for a long time myself. Having finally bit the bullet I will say I like Windows 10 better than Windows 7 and I'm glad I updated.
  8. Greetings @coolbonn, More options become visible once you select Preferences with a project open. With a project open and the Advance button selected scroll down to Project, then to MIDI and you will see the checkbox to "Zero Controllers When Play Stops".
  9. If your computer has Windows 10, then the "Start Fresh" feature may interest you. Microsoft Start Fresh Feature
  10. @EDUARDO QUEZADA, Welcome to the forum and to Cakewalk by BandLab. Midi connectivity through USB is currently the most common method for connecting midi hardware. However many hardware midi controllers connect through 5 pin midi connectors. Generally USB connections use midi drivers already available in Windows 10 and to a lesser extent, Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 while 5 pin midi connectors will require midi drivers provided by the hardware manufacturer. I would stay away from 5 pin midi connectors unless your computer has dedicated 5 pin midi connectors. As others previously stated, compatibility depends more on what features you desire than the DAW. Again welcome. I hope you will update this thread and let us know your decision.
  11. @kurt soderquist, Thank you for reporting the issue in the forum. Hopefully, other forum members that use the Fishman Triple Play will see your post and either (1) confirm hanging is a common issue or (2) report they do not experience the issue and offer some suggestions that might help to resolve the issue. In the meantime, did you know that the Cakewalk by BandLab developers may be able to assist with a resolution? Chief developer, @Noel Borthwick , has a topic that details how you can provide them with the information they need to help you resolve the issue. From the topic: You can read the complete topic here: Better problem reporting: How to capture a crash dump
  12. +1 I agree. The inability to label midi tracks while in the Piano Roll View is an irritant.
  13. That's one way to get an Apple product to work within a Windows environment. 😲
  14. @e2studio, My Italian is courtesy of Google Translate! Il mio italiano è per gentile concessione di Google Translate!
  15. @LarsF, I watched a video that demonstrates the Solo Save feature in Presonus StudioOne. So, as I understand it you are asking for the option of associated track and buss Solo buttons to mimic ON / OFF operation, is that correct? Background: Tracks TK1 (background vocal left), TK2 (background vocal right) & TK3 (lead vocal) send to busses Reverb 1 and Delay 1. TK1 & TK2 have Solo Save with Reverb 1 while TK3 has Solo Save with Reverb 1 and Delay 1. Example: Enable Solo on TK1 or TK2 and TK3 + Delay 1 mutes. Enable Solo on TK3 and the background vocals mute. Enable Solo on Reverb 1 and delay 1 mutes. Enable Solo on Delay 1 and reverb 1 mutes. Background vocal tracks solo button operation is linked to each other and to the solo button of Reverb 1 but not to the solo button of the lead vocal track or Delay 1. At the same time the lead vocal button is linked to the solo buttons of both the reverb and delay buss but not to the operation of the solo buttons on the background vocal tracks. I support your request if I've described the feature as you desire,
  16. I agree that it would be great to add manual tempo entry to AudioSnap. Consistent operation between views helps new users learn the program faster.
  17. @e2studio, Elix, I am well thank you. I hope you are the same. This unusual time has given many people the opportunity to develop interests they normally would not have time for. Hopefully your Italian based videos will help attract many musicians to Cakewalk. Elix, sto bene grazie.
  18. @Will_Kaydo, the link is not working for me.
  19. @glen dale, Thank you for updating the thread with your findings. That will help other users that run across this thread while performing a search.
  20. @LarsF, I am not familiar with how many other DAWs differ from how Cakewalk. What DAWs, or DAWs, do you have in mind when you say Can you describe how you would like Solo Safe, Solo Exempt and Solo Override to work so I can better understand your questions?
  21. Yep. As @Lord Tim and @Teegarden say, best is what works best for you. It may not always be Cakewalk but so far Cakewalk is the daw I have on my computer and the one I'm learning how to use so it's best for me. More and more videos are published that demonstrate the many different features available in Cakewalk by BandLab and a wide variety of ways those features can be used. The quality and quantity of video tutorials is increasing at a fast pace. I appreciate all the videos, they've been a big help to me.

Will, Thanks for the video. I'm looking forward to seeing additional videos as you re-start your channel. I like using the typing versus narration. For a video that's demonstrating one idea typing makes for a concise video. Aldo there are many people that read English better than they can speak or listen so the potential is there to gain a bigger audience.
  23. Dang! That's a pretty good overview that you can watch in less than 2 minutes. Sweet.
  24. Hi Mike, Twenty four minutes is a long video but every minute of the video has useful information. I appreciate you mentioning the keyboard shortcuts as I'm trying to learn some well enough to use them without a shortcut. Thanks for continuing with Cakewalk by BandLab videos as I eagerly look forward to the release of each one.
  25. @Xel Ohh Interesting video. Your choice to use Cakewalk by BandLab to make beats allows you to use the program and features differently than some. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
