  1. In my experience, the "not enough memory available" most often comes from software trying to access a midi port/device already being used by another piece of software. This has been mentioned many times in the Cakewalk Forum. I know--I have mentioned it myself (as have others). Let me see if I can find some links. Better yet, just search the forum for "not enough memory" [with the quotation marks].
  2. Watching the demo reminded me of Time Has Come Today's use of delay echo (Chambers Brothers). Starting 2/3 of the way down:
  3. Patchmix DSP works? Which drivers are you using? Also, which versions of the PCI Cards are you using? My 1820/1820m version of the main card used to work under Windows 10 with a 1212m daughter board, but after a Win 10 Update a couple of years ago, Patchmix DSP no longer worked. (Might have been one of the 18xx or 19xx updates.) I tried the hacks in the massive KVR thread without success. I would love to have it working again!!! So, any details that might help would be appreciated.
  4. Bandlab Packs used to have MIDI files, too. Let me know if you find where they are these days.
  5. I started the following draft reply yesterday with plans to first find links to some of the discussions in the forum before posting this. But I did not have the time to look. I am posting this now to reinforce what some other users have said and to add this: I specifically recall downloading a number of SF players and editors from one thread I found helpful within the past year or so. If I stumble onto that thread, I will post a link if it hasn't already been posted in this thread. ADDENDUM: BINGO!! Did a quick search in the forum for "soundfonts" and found this (among other threads). I think this one has some resources others have not mentioned in response to your Question. ------------------------ Draft of reply from yesterday not previously posted: I agree!!!!! Over the past two years or so, I have read a number of posts in the forum that talk about using SF/SF2s in Cakewalk. It seems that several people in the forum do use them. Maybe you could look them up and PM them for additional resources--maybe not videos if there aren't any, but there might be online text-based steps somewhere. I don't use them, so attaching a soundfont to a MIDI track sounds odd. As others have pointed out, in Cakewalk users can use software synths to play sounds.
  6. Hope the current treatment and Vascular scan help lead to improved hearing. As a sufferer of hearing loss and tinnitus, I appreciate the update here. As for the connection with the nasal spray, did the ENT rule in or rule out infection/congestion related causes? Just wondering. PS: Yesterday I had a wisdom tooth that had erupted pulled (lots of Novocain). Probably purely coincidental but all afternoon and evening I didn't hear any of the usually constant tinnitus. Its back today. 😞

    sustain pedal issue

I started to draft an answer with several possibilities, but first let me ask some diagnostic questions about your setup: Are you playing one synth [the SY 77's synth engine] from two different keyboards [the Fatar and the SY 77], possibly at the same time? If so, is the SY77's synth engine multitimbral? If so, are you playing different sounds in the SY77? If so, do you have the MIDI track inputs in Cakewalk [ I ] set to different MIDI Channels? Do you need MIDI data going from Cakewalk back to the Fatar?

    sustain pedal issue

@dogufo Are you thinking that the SY77 doesn't qualify as a keyboard because it also includes a synth engine but the Fatar 88 is a keyboard because it is a controller without a built-in synth? Unless you have them mapped or merged CCs are channelized. AHA!!! You posted a Track View image in a different thread. To me this image might suggest why your foot pedals affect both tracks (as mentioned above re: [ I ] = Omni ). But depending on your setup/routing, MIDI Output [ O ] might also be an issue. If Track 1 [SY77] is also assigned to [ O ] 1-MIDI SPOR . . . when you have the MIDI Echo Button set to ON for both Tracks 1 and 2, you are telling Cakewalk to merge the MIDI Data to whatever is connected to [ O ] 1-MIDI SPORT . . . . Not sure if this is part of the issue, but maybe.

    Audio drivers issue

For future reference: Since we can't delete posts, I usually edit mine by using the Edit button. Sometimes I will erase an entire post and replace it with a short comment like, "[deleted]" with a reason posted in "Reason for edit" box. Others do likewise, such as "Duplicate post deleted." For deleting a sentence or two or a paragraph, we have the options of editing the post with a strikethrough font and a font color change. Hope this helps for the next time. ADDENDUM: I think the image suggests why your foot pedals affect both tracks (as mentions in another thread). If Track 1 [SY77] is also assigned to [O] 1-MIDI SPOR . . . , when you have the MIDI Echo Button set to ON for both Tracks 1 and 2, you are telling Cakewalk to merge the MIDI Data to whatever is connected to [O] 1-MIDI SPORT . . . . Apology for posting this OT [Off-Topic] reply here; I did not see the image in the other thread where you mentioned the problem. The above section was copied to the Q & A thread on the sustain pedal issue, but it relates to the image you have here.

    Clusters?

Tone Clusters!!!! I have used them, but not recently. I don't have an answer for you, since I would just play them on my usb keyboard to enter the notes. But for purposes of clarification, can we assume: (1) you are talking about Cakewalk by Bandlab (as opposed to Bandlab [the browser-based app]) and (2) you are using Cakewalk's Staff View? I think you are, but based on the ambiguity, just wanted to ask. I haven't done this since I don't use the PRV, but maybe you might find it helpful to enter the notes in the PRV and then delete the ones you don't want? (From "writing [out] all the notes" I infer you are using Staff View, but maybe not.) UPDATE: Forgot to mention yesterday: I tried doing tone clusters my usual way (usb keyboard) as well as using the PRV and the virtual keyboard. Its a matter of personal workflow choice, but to me putting tone clusters in via the PRV was easier than putting them in on the staff.
  11. Is it safe to assume you are referring to the admiral's attempts to measure "MIDI Jitter" in different DAWS?
  12. Just last night, I uninstalled ST3 (and all my other IK Instruments/Tools) but for a different reason. (ST3 plays different ranges of the keyboard with different levels of loudness. Syntronik and MP2 didn't have this issue.) So, although, I have no opinion on your issue, I'd be very interested in suggestions for removing all the sounds and the sound packs/expansions. (Apologies if this if off-topic, but I did think it was related because if you remove IK GBs, I'd be interested in knowing the best way(s) to do it.)
  13. Looks somewhat interesting. I was intrigued by the role of the microprocessor (represented by an Arduino in the image). It reminded me of MIDI responsiveness tests using different baud rates [serial communication rates] going into a joystick port using a standard joystick interface cable (IIRC) from a Mega 256 and driving a software synth [E-Mu]. I was pleasantly surprised that I could pump the data out at 11520 baud and the PC / soft synth handled it at that speed.. I just took a quick look at the links and didn't see anything that talked about the serial communication rate, although that might be negligible in terms of measuring total "jitter." At the time I used a standalone soft synth. It might be fun to dig out the Mega 256 and see if I can pump MIDI out that fast to the DAW. (Not sure it would be possible.) Anyhow, thanks for the links. ADDENDUM (after I read John's comments) -- from the video linked above:
  14. Is the CC for the pedal configurable? If it previously also output 0x41, were you using a map to change it to 0x40? Maybe a map got changed? Also: how is the pedal getting into your PC [i.e., what gear]? Maybe that's where the mapping was done and somehow it got changed?
  15. I don't. I use the in-app updater. Menu Bar > Help > Check for Updates.
  16. From Bat Out of Hell to his infamous flap with Gary Busey Meat Loaf shared with us amazing moments from his life with unforgettable passion. RIP.
  17. So tempting to post Zappa's "Broken Hearts are for _____ ________." Not sure that will get past the decency filter. 😜
  18. I did this several hours ago (5 3/4 hours ago) and forgot about it. When I looked, it still said "updating." Surprise, surprise. AHA!!!! The full executable seems to have been downloaded and is in a sub-folder called "pending." No hidden pop-ups telling me to do something to complete the installation. I will try (1) running it and if that doesn't work (2) rebooting my PC. UPDATE: I tried (1) and (2) and then a number of other steps. BLA Beta is not a top priority for me, so I just manually downloaded and manually installed the most recent BLA (10.2.0). I'll let others try the Beta (10.2.1). On the positive side, although I couldn't find any Genre Pack MIDI files, I did give the automatic get-started idea generator a roll of the dice. Also, I found some Bandlab MIDI files I downloaded in 2019.
  19. Their genre packs used to have midi files, but the last several times I only found the audio files. Does anyone know if they still have the midi files available somewhere?
  20. Completely Irrelevant. It says ALL T-RACKS USERS...not "select" or "Group Buy Participants Excluded"! It shouldn't matter if I have 500 Licenses....ALL T-Racks users means "ALL" I agree it shouldn't matter in terms of the stated rules. I was interested in what excuse they would give. Same here.
  21. Did you buy TS MAX 3.5 after GB25? If so, try telling them that you should have been entitled to the promotional EQ-81 based on that purchase, not based on the prior GB25 "freebie" selection.
  22. YUP!!!!!! But the OP seemed to be interested in the deep structure of MIDI:
  23. The short answer: No. The high bit in the program number being 0 is intentionally used to identify the number as data. The long answer: When you asked "Is the high bit of the program number simply unused, reserved for future use?" I assumed you understood the structure of midi commands [midi status bytes and midi data]. Evidently I assumed too much. Sec while I look at the link. 1100 in binary = 0xC nnnn is the channel number (0x00 to 0x0F) corresponding to human numbers 1 to 16 1100nnnn represents 0xCn, aka the Program Change Command in MIDI 0ppppppp represents the Program Change Value. --------------------------------- This is a two-byte MIDI command. The first byte is the status byte. Since the highest bit is set [1100 nnnn] it says, "Hey, this is a midi command." Since the first half [nybble] is 1100 [0xC], it says, "Hey, this midi command is supposed to do a program change." nnnn says, "Hey, do this patch change on MIDI channel nnnn [1-16, where nnnn goes from 0000 to 1111]. The second byte is the MIDI data. Since the highest bit is clear [0ppp pppp], it says, "Hey, I'm MIDI data [not a MIDI Command]." Since MIDI data is 7 bits long, it goes from 0000 1111 to 0111 1111 (or, 0x00 to 0x7F; or 0 to 127) In the status byte, the highest bit is set. That tells any program/routine that is processing midi, that it is a midi command as opposed to midi data. If you are using software that handles MIDI for you, you shouldn't have to worry about trying to set the highest bit in the data byte. If you are writing your own code, it would make a difference. Bank Select / Bank Switching (where implemented) is included in the MIDI Spec so gear and users can switch banks of 128 programs/patches/presets. Pages 12-13 of the document you found show the Continuous Controller MIDI data bytes for selecting banks. Control Change commands are 3-bytes: status, CC number, data value.
