  1. How much ram do you have? What CPU do you have? What audio interface do you have. You say it's ASIO, but is that a true native driver or are you using a wrapper like ASIO4ALL?
  2. Are you using Windows Task Manager to determine what portion of your total ram is being used by Cakewalk? Are you sure that, rather being a memory issue, that this is not a CPU power issue? Memory is usually taken up by things like large sample libraries. Giving us your PC specs would be a good start.
  3. That's good to know. Some in the past have been non commercial. Maybe Magix changed their policy.
  4. Unless you purchase a Magix commercial licence, they are 'for personal use only'.
  5. NO, because any earlier version of CbB will eventually deactivate - and then it would not reactivate. You would have to use a previous version that is not Cakewalk by Bandlab.
  6. Or give users a check box to suppress the installation of Pace. I should not have to do this, but I cancel the Pace installer component. The necessary UVI stuff has installed correctly by the time it gets to the PACE install.
  7. Many other DAWs have suggested the comparability setting, Enable 'Override high DPI scaling behavior.' Have you tried this for Cakewalks exe? Then in CbB, VST Plugin Properties for (Biasfx2), try enable enhanced Display Scaling (if present). Also try setting your display scaling set to 100%
  8. Well, the popup says “Is being replaced by Cakewalk Sonar”, not “Has been replaced by Cakewalk Sonar”
  9. This worked for me when I did this a while back too.... Disabled C-States and Intel Speedstep. This got rid of the odd click and pop I was having.
  10. That sounds like something else is going on. You have been away for a few weeks. Windows updates would have happened in that time. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling (and updating if necessary) the drivers your audio interface?.
  11. Does this pop up screen not have a countdown? And when the countdown reaches zero you can click through? Are you off line? If so, and if you can, go online and the countdown should not appear.
  12. You could. However, it might be enough to assign the specific controller to the track rather than setting that track to “All inputs” One option is to set all your MIDI controllers to transmit on MIDI channel 1 (which they are probably all ready). Then, for any MIDI tracks or Simple instrument tracks you are recording to, set those MIDI channels to something other then “none”. Remember, if you set the MIDI channel of any MIDI or Simple instrument track, that MIDI channel will override any MIDI channel that is contained in any MIDI events in that MIDI track.
  13. Menu View > Meter/Key - anything listed at measure 7 (or where ever it returns to 4/4)
  14. I asked the Bakers about that a while back. Their answer was that 4 physical cores should be enough for the Core Cakewalk program. They mention 8 cores on the specifications to cater for any possible third party plugins that the Bakers may wish to include in the final release of the new sonar. Of course, we do not know which, if any, third party plugins will be included.
  15. The issue everyone seems to be having with the VST3 version of these updated plugins is because the Kazrog folders have a vst3 extension. Sometimes, this tends to confuse the Cakewalk VST scanner and the plugin is not processed correctly. After the install, got to your "%CommonProgramFiles%\VST3" folder , then find the relevant Kazrog folder with the VST3 extension and rename the folder so as not to include the extension. IE “True Iron.vst3” folder becomes “True Iron” Once you have done this, rescan and you should be up and running with the updated Kazrog plugins. This is similar to the BBS Orchestra issue a while back when they released their BBC Orchestra piano.
  16. I can confirm: In Cakewalk: Amplitube VST3 does not respond to Program Change Events. Amplitube VST2 does.
  17. I open MIDI files all the time in Cakewalk and the MIDI tracks it creates are always routed to my hardware MIDI device (which, in turn, is routed to my external Yamaha XG device) In Preferences > MIDI > Instruments, do you have all channels listed under “Output/Channel” I am assuming that your Hardware MIDI device is always enabled under Preferences - MIDI - Devices > Outputs.
  18. (Yes, I know, another 27 gig download!) World Suite 2 - ChangeLog 1.0.9 ------ - Fix: Nadhaswaram samples trim - Fix: tremolo behaviour in "Viola Di Gamba" - Fix: tuning in "Recorders" - Fix: clicks in "African Large Drums"
  19. You’re almost there. Yes, you create 16 MIDI tracks. The “MIDI channel” of each MIDI track is set to Channel 1 to 16 respectively. Than set the input (under “In/Out”) of each MIDI track to match the MIDI channel. Arm all MIDI tracks, then record. If you are wanting to play an existing MIDI file, simple open it in CbB.
  20. Do you mean of change the MIDI Channels of MIDI events themselves or the MIDI channel of MIDI tracks. The answer to both is create a CAL script that does what you are after. The create a keybinding to those CAL scripts.
  21. The CbB Theme Editor cannot enlarge the text for markers in the timeline. However, you can change the colours. Preferences - Customization - Colours (Advanced). The exact name of the colour you’re after is “Markers”
  22. With this preset, on my system, playing a 6 note chord, Pigments 5 reported an averaged of17% CPU (MultiCore on). Task-manger reported Pigments using 35% while playing 6 notes. This is on a PC configured as per Signature.
