  1. Go further down the page and check out upgrading to melodyne 5 by msmcloed
  2. Raymond, If you know what the exact bpm is when you import it , it's easy to change using the stretch tool . I've found it better to do outside of your project. Open a new project, set the bpm in the project to what your audio file is. Import it at the very start of measure 1. Go to the end of the clip and slip edit the end so it stops on a line . Take note of exactly where it ends on the timeline. Now change the project bpm to what you want the clip to be. Now use the stretch tool and drag the end of the clip back or forward to the same spot where it ended before. Export the clip out. You'll notice some extra processing time when you export it. That's why I like to do it outside of my project. Right click the edit box to select the stretch tool , (same toolbar module where the smart tool is) don't forget to turn it back off .. mark
  3. All the old Sonar programs I have had a "final mix" setting in the standard included compressors. I always assumed they went on the master buss for some gentle taming. I would imagine a mastering house would rather do it themselves but that has never been an option for me ..
  4. Cool! Super nice funk. I think you covered all the bases on the guitars , I really liked the way you did the chimed parts. Killer bass as well. Another great one .. mark
  5. Very good . I really liked the twists and turns this one took. The blurp was great. Enjoyed it .. mark

    Kramer

Here's a pretty frantic one . Not real polished , tried to get a live feel. https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/kramer Comments , crits , and suggestions welcomed. Thanks .. mark
  7. Tez, as soon as you click file/import audio the option will be on the very first page that pops up , it's just a check box. You may also have "auto save" enabled , saving it for you. Frank , a friend of mine just got the $199 package with all four advanced programs. Killer deal. mark
  8. I've been using Ozone for a while and now consider it a must have tool. The eq suggestions are a great tool if you get too close to your mix and aren't making the right eq choices that are obvious to ozone. It's a great reference tool even if you don't use it. Tez , when I import a file to my dedicated Ozone project , I make sure "copy to audio folder" isn't checked during import. It may not work the same in 9 but it's something to try. mark
  9. Reco , try clicking the input drop down arrow on your "midi" track and choose your PSR as the input. If it doesn't show up go to pref. and make sure it is chosen as a midi device. It should then feed the signal thru TTS.
  10. Back to the original post. Fawudd , I am using basically the same pc and settings you are with an old Cakewalk UA4fx interface and win 7 pro. I do use 44.1. I have 0 glitches on audio or midi (although most of my stuff is not high in track count) If I record something in CbB it plays well and the same for Reaper and I have Never adjusted my buffers . It's going to be something simple like a synth ,vst, or interface settings. Reaper has a very small footprint. Keep them both and use them for their best qualities. Just don't upgrade Reaper too many times or you'l have to pay again to keep it registered. Sorry about the diversion from your post ... mark
  11. Sorry , I did not mean to sound sour. I actually still have Reaper installed on another pc. If I ever decide to make it my daw of choice , I will quietly leave and not complain about constantly improved "Free" software... mark
  12. Very nice. Sounds like if you cut it down some you would also have a nice bed laid out for a good vocal song . Enjoyed it .. mark
  13. Egil , I have been active on another forum for years with different sections dedicated to different daws. They "All" have their problems. As an X reaper user I wish you the best luck in the world. Good bye..
  14. There have been a lot of posts on recording forums about 4k monitors looking Fantastic , but everything too small to be worth the upgrade. A few people have found solutions. I would do some serious research before making my mind up. Regular HD 1080 seems to work fine for me and most people just recording. I would keep a dedicated pc just for music (if I could) and Nothing else.
  15. Helos, If I'm working in prv I don't select any clips. I just select the midi track before I open prv and all the notes show up for that track. I'm not much of a keyboard player so I comp everything a section at a time using sound on sound. I record in a linear fashion so the last take I did will always show up. I If need to see whats behind it I click on a spot before my last take. I don't even use take lanes , everything is moved to the top. Now .. when I do different layers (like playing left hand bass parts) I use a different midi track. I don't do bounce to clips until I'm "finished" with the project. This is my not recommended but works for me approach.
  16. Even before you bounce to clips All the notes will still show up in "piano roll view" if you need to edit.
  17. You should also put this link in the Freeware section.
  18. No suggestions for the live work but "thanks" for the video link. I'll be starting an upright track tomorrow. May try the 57 trick. mark
  19. You should have your input volume set to a decent level "before" you actually Record the track. Just watch your meter while playing the part. The song doesn't even have to be playing to set your level. If it's going too high (yellow) turn down the input gain on your interface or guitar. Red is always bad. Try not to get louder than -6 to -12 to start with. You can turn it up later if you need to. Once you're in the red and making noises you're screwed and should redo the track. There are fixes but it will cost you. The more tracks you add , the louder your song gets , so start in the middle, not too quiet , not too loud. Good luck.. mark
  20. Hello , I'm not on the latest build yet , but same problem on a pc that IS at another location. If I load a pro channel preset like one of the Gibson acoustic ones ( J2000 ) how do I delete it , if I change my mind and want to go back to the default pro channel modules? I'm sure I overlooked something. Thanks ... mark
  21. Steev, Good job on a hard cover. I think you've convinced me to update to the latest CbB version. My only crit is the vocals seem to be an octave low pulling a lot of energy out of the song. Enjoyed it , very good guitar work . mark
  22. Steve , that was a Fantastic job from "everyone". I'd forgotten just how much I loved Steele Dan music. The vocals were absolutely killer. I had to go and listen to more of her music just to hear for myself it was actually a woman doing the vox. She could probably cover Any song. So much talent. Thanks for posting this. I Really enjoyed it. mark
  23. Very nice. Loved the guitar chords, I used to do almost everything Maj7 sounding . I thought the bass parts were excellent. As Emeraldsoul said , it really needs more of an airy clean sound to bring out the guitars and bass. When you get time check out "Raum" free reverb plugin. It can easily be overused , but it's super airy . A lot could be done with just eq. Keep em coming .. mark
  24. Great Job! Those were some pretty tricky lyrics , well sung , played and mixed. Sounds like you've been pretty busy. Really enjoyed it .. mark
  25. When you export it make sure you don't put a "dot" or "period" anywhere in the song title if you are ..
