  1. Smooth ! You have a Very nice voice . I think some laid back kick and rim shots along with less of the am radio sound on the vocals would really bring this one forward. Enjoyed it .. mark
  2. Creating a desktop shortcut to this folder has been Very handy for me ..
  3. A previous thread on this issue suggested uninstalling Bandlab asst. from the control panel first then download the latest version. I've done it this way ever since and I've never had a problem updating BA or CbB.

    My Better Days

Passing comments can turn into a really great song ..
  5. Ken , I wish you all the best in your musical endeavors , and I totally agree , You Shouldn't use Any type of social media . I'm out of this one ..

    My Better Days

Very nice ! I think it all came together at the build up when the organ came in. Great job .. mark
  7. If you know how to use Google you can find out what "Anything" is ..
  8. I really liked the visuals showing the different great parts. I thought the guitar work and tones were great. It must be nice working with a good real drummer. I miss working with a not real good real drummer .. You tube was glitching a lot , I'll listen to it again later. Fantastic job! It was just too short. mark
  9. Great songs and recording , I've been listening to a lot of early recordings of Mississippi John Hurt lately. You definitely hit the delta blues sound. You should do well with this collection. Enjoyed it .. mark
  10. I had a recent project that kept bringing up the dialog . If I used Save As and then continued with the project , each time I used the regular Save the dialog popped up. If I closed the project after a save as , and then reopened it , a normal save never brought up the dialog. mark
  11. I remember reading a response somewhere on this forum where you could easily navigate to the highest peaks in a clip or in clips pane . I'm sure someone here will weigh in on how to do this , I'd like to know myself .. mark
  12. I didn't want to go there but here it is. That's one reason for doing this to his vocal. So it doesn't sound like "him" anymore. Not only does he sing bad , He has No timing or rhythm , but he tries and loves to play and sing. I've improved his vocals so much in the past he actually doesn't know how bad he is , or the hours I've spent cringing during melodyne sessions. Double tracking his performance doesn't work, micro shifting a copy does. This isn't a normal studio situation. If this doesn't work I'll go back to the conventional methods. Thanks for the input , wish me luck ... mark
  13. Thanks for replying . I have used All of the above suggestions except the V -Vocal one. None of them created the effect like transposing it. There was something about the change in the Air sound that greatly enhanced it also. I was just wondering if I had missed out on a not so widely used technique.. mark
  14. Thanks for the link , I'll try that sampler the next time I have a need for one. Sounds much easier mark
  15. I have a partner in musical crime doing a cover of "Hello in There" by John Prine. He always wants his voice deeper and thicker, and I've done all the tricks for him on previous songs. I transposed a live version of the song from Mr. Prine down 1 step for reference (to the key he want's to do it in) I noticed Johns' voice thickened up so much he sounded like a Big Chested Deep Voiced modern country singer. I was wondering if anyone has tried this technique maybe singing only a half step higher than normal , then transposing it back down for the the thickening and deepening effect ? mark
  16. Yang , In the above post you had 6 DINGs in different keys. You can always copy the 1'st Ding and paste the rest of them where you want them be. Do a "bounce to clips" that places all of them on the same clip. Then select that clip (with the 6 Dings) and then use melodyne to change the keys of the different dings. When you "render" that section it will have all the key changes you wan't. You can then paste it wherever you want in your song. Depending on how complicated you song is you wouldn't have to do it many times. Verse , chorus , etc .. mark
  17. Are you going into an interface from your mixer , or going directly into the pc with a usb cable? I don't see any pan knobs on the mixer for the different channels , so I'm assuming the "blend" knob on you mixer is mixing the 2 inputs. An interface is normally a "must Have" for any serious recording . mark
  18. Fantastic , I really liked the contrast between the lyrics and the satire(ish) way they were sung. Emeraldsoul expressed the exact same feeling I got from this. Top Notch .. mark
  19. Great job! I like the way you captured the way Paul Simon can half talk and half sing a phrase. You sure know how to choose what songs to cover. Enjoyed it .. mark
  20. I made quite few changes using all the suggestions. I hope this version is better. I think it's a lot smoother during the electric guitar parts. Let me know if I missed it. Thanks to everyone. mark
  21. If you right click the Freeze button there are a couple of options for the freezing process. Make sure the fx is selected . Mine always sounds the same after freezing. Fx and pro channel get embedded. You may wan't to tick the Slow Bounce button if any of your plugins or soft synth instruments don't like the fast bounce.
  22. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'm sure going to look up the different musicians everyone has mentioned. To @emeraldsoulI'll look closer at the lows , there's a lot of 808 drums and samples in it. To @batsbrew the lead guitar was added Last after I thought it was sounding repetitive. I just put it in on top of everything instead of taking time to mix it in properly. It was conflicting with a couple of tracks, I corrected it and it sounds so much better now. I also boosted the bass . Great call! The comment "collectively it doesn't work" was Perfect. I'll re post after everyone has had a chance to weigh in . Thanks ... mark

    Platinum 72

Here's an instrumental I finished up recently. I tagged it as ambient because of the midi backing and feel but it's mostly guitar. I welcome any crits and suggestions Thanks .. markhttps://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/platinum-72 The link is now a remix with changes made from the comments and suggestions made below. Any further suggestions are welcomed . Thanks guys .. mark
  24. Bjorn , Great melody and mix. The guitars sounded very relaxed and convincing. I Loved the fiddle. You did a very good job with the grace notes almost got a bagpipe attack out of it. I believe SoundCloud did its' normal chop off the ending though . Enjoyed it .. mark
