Smooth, well done, second the Steely Dan mention, wonder what instrumentation you are using if you feel like posting that info
  4. Excellent all around, the lyrics feature some important points, great job

    There Is No GOD

Powerful synthy opening, unexpected changes, settles into a groove, really not able to get the most of the lyrics and I am interested in what you are singing, enjoyed it even if the message is mysterious

    Far Cry

Hi jack c thanks for listening and your feedback, appreciate both. Yes, the low end is lacking, I wasn't too in love with the bassline so sat it back a bit, probably a bit too FAR back ha.

    Far Cry

Hi Mark Ha I appreciate your enthusiasm to go first ! I thought that only was a thing to go first and beat Larry in the deals forum (which I did once!) The artwork is from pixabay.com called Mayan Calendar by KLAU2018 that I changed some of the characters to read Far Cry. Ugh, this one I spent so much time with the bass and kick and got it to this point which I thought was just about acceptable. It was very challenging for some reason. I think I would have to change out the kick to really make it a lot better. I played a very simple bassline in this and am not too excited about it so I let it be a bit back but yes, you zoned right in on my biggest issue with this song. My room is probably not the best for low end judgements, I use Tonal Balance Control and it showed the low end the lowest I have ever seen one of my songs even after I worked to get it stronger. I'm glad you enjoyed it ! Thank you

    Far Cry

Been working on this one for a while. I used SI Bass, Addictive Drums, Generation guitar, Kontakt Strummed Acoustic, Kontakt 25 Crescent keys, Kontakt Hypha keys, New Nation Natura synth pad, Xperiments Dark Sky Audio free for Kontakt and Vital free with Lucy Blake preset. Here are the discontented lyrics, thanks for listening/reading, feedback and discussion welcome ! Far Cry by Treesha deFrance It’s a far cry from the blue sky Doesn’t satisfy only magnifies It’s a far cry from where I wanna be From where I wanna be O set me free let freedom ring O each day I wonder All I see all I hear all I know O betrayed I wander What I feel what I say where I go Far, Far Cry Far, Far Cry O feet on the ground It’s a long way down From underground O give me a moment I need a minute To get back in it Far, Far Cry Far, Far Cry Long time, hard try, scarred life Scarred life Far, Far Cry Far, Far Cry
  9. When it was free before they had a song contest to use it in. I entered and I think one other forum poster entered. I posted my entry in our song forum, didn’t win the contest which is fine but got listens in maybe top 15 or so contest entries. It was surprisingly versatile.
  10. I did get an email in advance of the website change telling me about the upcoming change and what the new website would be etc. I have bought from new nation a few times.

    Drawing automation

Hi i have a huion kamvas pro 16 drawing tablet a few years old and win 10 and just tried to see how it worked in cakewalk. I am able to manipulate envelopes in track view with the huion pen and adjust velocities in prv for example. I don’t know how or where to draw automation to try that, if you tell me how I can try it, but generally everything i tried to manipulate in cakewalk works with the huion pen.
  12. I use melodyne a lot and normally in smaller size clips. The only time i would do a track long use is if i want to use the adjust volume feature and bring up some low volume notes in the track. Otherwise the small clip size and render is what i do
  13. Sounds lovely, got a slight medieval vibe as I listened, good luck with the contest !

    Living

I too get some shades of David Byrne in your singing and phrasing and attitude. Your instrumentation is always interesting and a bit unexpected. I can tell you added to the vocal to bring it more forward and it’s better but bring it out a bit more cause it still is not totally clear to hear all your words. Always interesting jack c.
  15. Nice playing and singing, good song. I might do a little bit of deesing here and there. It doesn’t seem lacking to me, but if you want to fill it out some sustaining bass notes would be nice, or as jack c. suggested strings maybe I would try cello - would be beautiful.

Hi Old Joad, Thanks for listening and your comment, glad to know the song is loved ha. I will have to check out Laurie Anderson ! I always appreciate following up on comments about music I'm not familiar with. Thanks again !
  17. Great guitar riff, nice rhythm, drums are pretty low in the mix. I listened in headphones to try to catch all the words, pretty clever ones that I got (driving, pills, food stains, easy chair ha) but yeah would be great to hear them all. Your singing is always so unique.
  18. Yes smooth. The flute sounds great, nice melodies and harmonies. Very pleasant mood with some changes now and then. Very nice. Never forget when my rock loving son first heard me play a Peter Tosh song and it had bird sounds in it, he was amused.
  19. Sounds good. Is an instrumental for this style common? I think it could be enhanced by some singing. I think the bass could be brought up (if I'm hearing a bass). It’s interesting and well played. You can embed the song to play in the forum vs having a link to youtube in your post.
  20. Who is this? ha. clever

    F THEM ALL

Yep. I hope creating this song and video was cathartic. Well done.
  22. I think the Anderton IR files are in this AndertonCollectionSetup_1.0.0.25.exe I own platinum, not sure when or how I got this file but I think they are in there

Hi FreeEarCandy Thanks for listening and for your positive feedback and question. I often struggle with reverb so I'm glad to know you think I got it right here. I think I love reverb so much I would overdo it, so then I underdo it so I dont overdo it. As for Melodyne, I really use it on anything and everything both creatively and correctively. In this song I know I used it to change some bass and guitar notes to other notes, to make some counter melodies/harmonies to the original ones, to stretch out some of the weird effect noises/tones and ending bass note because I wanted them stretched out longer, it always surprises me when I use a vst synth and then look at the audio track in Melodyne that the notes are not 100% in tune which is fine sometimes but I think I did put the synth notes in tune, to clean up any weird noises like here the generation guitar has some squeaky noises that I think are supposed to be fret noises, I tried to take them out but it was not good, so I used melodyne to turn them down and fade them a bit. I definitely use it on lead and backing vocals in other songs, but do use it extensively on just about everything I might want to play around with, its really fun. Thanks again

Hi Andy Thank you for checking out my song and for the positive feedback, I appreciate both ! Yes I wanted this song to express stress and intensity and there is definitely chaos involved. I agree the drums hold it together as it is pretty piecemeal. Thanks again
