Then your probably going to have to put up with a little bit of noise. Let me ask though, what kind of guitar are you using ? If its a fender with SSS (single coils) then the 50 cycle hum is a killer, its one of the main reasons I switched to a Humbucker in the bridge of my #1 axe (an 06 Fender USA). As you can see its a one knob (volume/tone bypassed) 1 Humbucker racing machine for one thing only... Metal !!! Similar to Eddie Van Halen's guitar set ups on his early VH albums.

I think that's a great idea. You have put a lot of effort in to this list, i would love to see the points you made in a more focused section. There was another user who put up a list of 50+ ideas once and was meet with a similar point of view. I love hearing others ideas, so keep up the good work.

A few places this comes into play is in the Piano roll view and also Auto track zoom. I cant explain this in 2 sentences. I wish I could. This feature was created with the inception of Sonar X2 (close to 8 years ago) so its nothing new really. But I will say this.. It is still to this day, confusing to users, so I totally understand ones frustration in understanding the two. Documentation is also not something easy to find. Unless you look up "Auto track zoom" and even then search results are limited. You can tap out in 1/8th notes. then use the formula based, tempo= For example, if your BPM is set to 150 and you tap out 1/8th notes, divide that number by 2 = 75 BPM.

You might relive some of the noise with an XLR cable but that to me sounds a lot like a high gain plug in. It adds to the noise floor. What's it like when your playing ? Does the noise seem lower when you touch the bridge or strings ?

Another factor here is the plug in, your audio clip sounds very close to a high gain distortion plug in. The intriguing thing is the oscillating sound (like birds).

Run me through your I/O (Input/output) diagram @Calvin. Are you running the guitar via 1/4 input thru the parallel and the output from the XRL into your mic pre amp on the u-phoria umc22 ? Or running the 1/4 parallel via 1/4 parallel out ?

Possibly a unique question... but, have you tried the switch ?

What kind ? Active or passive ? If active and you have it powered by adapter, try using a battery instead, this will help rule out a grounding issue. does the box have a ground switch ?

Its typically the kick drum and Bass that are fighting for a lot of the same frequency's. Try cutting the kick drum track placing a sweep on the lower 50-60 HZ range. Then notch the kick between 150-250 range. Pull it up/down to find the offending frequency. Your not alone here, a lot of us fight in this range because the Kick and Bass guitar are a marriage of sorts. They not only carry the foundation of the song but also lay in the same frequency path.

People have asked for this as a feature. TBH, Its a pretty good request. I use Track lane automation myself. Like this... (courtesy of MsMcleod)

Nested folders in CV has been a feature request by many users for a long time now.

I do use 2 monitors but i dont bring CV to my 2cnd monitor, i used to, but now i only bring plug ins to second monitor. Especially during mastering when i have 5 pinned at one time.

It just doesn't seem intuitive to be hiding pinned plug ins no matter what screen they are on. Let me look more into this and see what i can come up with.

What is full volume ? To get a commercially sounding song your best bet is to export a mix from -3 to -6 db and then bring that file back in to Cakewalk and master it to 0.1 or as close as possible. Use compression and limiting to control your signal. this changes the perceived loudness.

Are the speakers plugged in to the scarlett or are you using PC speakers ?

Totally agree. Absolutely, those are some great illustrations and documentations.

The reason i suggest updating to the latest version is because troubleshooting a 2 year old version while we are all using on brand new versions is almost impossible. Especially after there has been 1000's of bug fixes and updates since. Hope this helps and Welcome to the forums.

I saw your other post and believe you are using a version of CbB (Cakewalk By Bandlab) from 2018. You might try updating to the latest version and see if that solves your issues. FYI- Your soundcard may be at fault with Browser samples not playing back right if your soundcard does not support higher sample rates or a buffer rate to low.

@nacrainter18 I'm sorry, I wish i could be more help. Keep me posted on how this works out. I'll keep looking around for solutions. Only other things i can think of is trying the VST2 64 bit version of the plug in (vs. the VST2 32 bit version). What sample rate are you running it at ? If 48 or higher, try doing a test with lower sample rates like 41.
