  1. Hi Everybody, Here's a reggae tune that I did a while back, but revisited because I wasn't happy with it. I added more BGVs and re-sang the lead vocal on a mic I recently purchased, an AT4040. Any comments or critiques are welcome, and thanks for listening. Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=13756377

Very cool - I enjoyed the listen on this one - catchy tune and I liked the lead vocal. The brass worked well in this one. The mix sounded quite nice to my ears - radio ready.
  3. I thought this was a cool jazzy groove - I enjoyed the listen.
  4. This one made me feel as if I'm on a beach in Rio drinking a margherita. This had a Bossa Nova feel to it - enjoyed the listen as always.
  5. A cool positive upbeat song - I enjoyed your vocal - it made me think a bit of John Denver's voice. Regarding the hi-hat you mentioned - maybe add a bit of reverb to it - perhaps that would blend it in better in the mix. I would bring up the snare a bit as well.
  6. That was an impressive composition - I enjoyed the listen very much.
  7. That was a lot of fun to listen to - cool groove and performance. I enjoyed the melodic guitar playing as well.
  8. The production of this sounds quite similar to the original - so good job there. The vocal put a different spin on this song - reminded me a bit of Dr. John.
  9. Another good song from you - very cool. Of course I like the song title😀 I really enjoyed your lead vocal - the performance and the fx you used there. I liked the BGVs too. The mix had a nice full sound due to the BGVs - sounded quite nice to my ears.
  10. I should have know it was an sm57 - there's a reason it's been around forever😀
  11. It made me think of a pleasant walk through the park on a sunny day. I enjoyed the melodies in this - nicely done.
  12. I agree with the other guys about the guitar riff - sounds cool. I thought the overall quality of the mix doesn't sound very good - I'm listening through headphones and the volume is quite low. As emeraldsoul suggested - maybe it has to do with the mp3 conversion. It's a cool song - I just wish I could hear it better. Ric Ocasek - RIP
  13. Thanks Michael - appreciate you giving it another listen - your comments on the mix were spot-on.
  14. It was a cool song to listen to - but that effect on the lead vocal - not sure it works for me. Someone above mentioned it sounds like a flanger/chorus/phaser - maybe take that off the vocal. Everything else sounds fine to me.

Eerie and spooky - I liked the intensity of this track. I also liked the female vocal parts - very cool. As always - very creative.
  16. Very cool track - I thought your vocal fit perfectly for the style of the song. I thought the mix was excellent. I enjoyed the listen - didn't seem long to me.
  17. I really enjoyed this song - it sounds 80's - someone above mentioned Human League. A few commentators mentioned it was light on bass - it sounds like you fixed that - because now the bass sounds fine. Nice job on the song overall.
  18. Like Paul McCartney once sang - there's nothing wrong with silly love songs😀 I liked your vocal on this - nicely done. I thought the song was quite good and well arranged. The horns and strings worked quite well. No crits on the mix - sounded good to me.
  19. I enjoyed the listen - I agree with some of the other guys about the tempo - it seemed to drag a bit. Cool lead vocal. Tasty guitar solo. No crits on the mix - it sounded fine to me. Thanks for posting.
  20. A very catchy upbeat song - I enjoyed your lead vocal. I liked how you took it up a notch on the chorus. I thought the mix worked quite nicely to my ears - radio ready IMO. Just curious - what mic did you sing the vocal with?
  21. That's a cool instrumental of a great song - I liked the guitar tones in this. Nice job. Wow - as the song goes along, especially when the drums kick in, there's some excellent guitar playing - very nice.
  22. daryl1968 - Thanks for giving the song a listen - I did another remix so I hope I got rid of the boom. michaelhanson - Thanks for the compliments - I took your advice and backed off some reverb on the drums and I brought up the bass - thanks for your suggestions. bjornpdx - Thanks for your comments and for giving my song a listen.
  23. Thanks Gary - I'll revisit the mix since both you and emeraldsoul think it's a bit boomy.
  24. My brother and I like to listen to old funk records from the 70's - we enjoy them. Cool composition Larry - cheers.
  25. Cool song - the chorus has a 60's retro vibe to it. I liked the tone of your lead vocal - what mic did you use on this? Overall the mix sounded quite good to my ears.
