  1. BandLab Assistant (updated just before posting this) says an update is available for CbB, but never actually starts the download. It stays on "Downloading...(0/0)" for as long as I'll let it. If I cancel that, the button changes to "Install", but there's nothing to install. And there's nothing in the Download folder, either. CbB won't update from within the program itself. When I try to update from within CbB, two boxes pop up saying "Connection Error. Could not check for updates, please try again later. doEarlyAccessCheck:WinHttpSendRequest: 12175: A security error occurred." A Google search for that error gave me no usable results. Rebooting the machine didn't help, and I can't find where to download just Cakewalk by itself. Everything points to the BandLab Assistant, which is already up to date and isn't helping with the CbB issue. Thanks. Steve Cakewalk by Bandlab version 2021.06 Build 50 BandLab Assistant 8.1(?)   2. Hello All, I previously had CBL installed from Jan 2021 on my desktop..without issue. My secondary hard drive died (where my "VST" files were located) and had a replacement and changed it changed the drive letter from "D:" to now "F:" When I tried to update the Cakewalk software, it keeps asking during the install process to put the "VST" folder in the old "D:" location and will not give me the opportunity to select a different location. Both the location and the "BROWSE" button are ghosted gray and I cannot find away to select a different location. The only option is to cancel the upgrade and I am stuck. Then I read , to uninstall CBL and try a fresh install from Bandlab Assistant. I did but I am, same issue on new install of CBL. Next I tried uninstall again but added removing all the adds component software (drum replacer, software suite, etc). That went well except for the MELODYNE RUNTIME component will not UNINSTALL. I get a warning that the Administrator is blocking the removal of the Melodyne Runtime. So I try to run the CBL installer a 3rd time and still am stuck at the same VST FOLDER point. What can I do to get past this point and get the CAKEWALK installed again. I am out of ideas. Computer Specs: Windows 10 / ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Motherboard (ATX) / Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Desktop Memory / 500GB Solid State (Drive C) / 1TB 7200rpm HD (Drive E) / Additional Plug & Play 2-Bay Drive Docking station( extra storage from old drives ).   3. hi! it would be cool to see a feature like this: double-clicking on an audio clip opens that clip in a separate window. it will be more convenient to work with audio in large projects or the ability to open in a third-party editor by double-clicking. it is strange that at least one of these functions has not yet been implemented

Hai, im cakewalk user for long time since sonar 4... but recently i try a studio one 5.2 and, i find out S1 have a some feature that very2 good and usefull where cakewalk bandlab dont have it.... so this is a video that i hope can make it clear, and im very2 hope that cakewalk bandlab can have this feature too, or maybe better than.... 1. Parallel Routing and Processing on Track 2. Drag and Drop instrument on track or FX on FX bin and send that can create bus track automaticly, and copy all fx chain to other track at once so dont have to copied one by one. here's the examples video: 3. sidecahain directly button into the fx window that can routing more fast (as i remember cubase and studio one have it ) 4 not laggy GUI Movement (this is so annoying) make the app "feel" slow and heavy So i hope we can considering this advice.. because this can make a huge deal i believe.. thx.... cheers
  6. I don't know how popular this request would be, but I would like to be able to customize the timeline at the top of the track view. I would like a timeline display that's just minutes and seconds. I don't do much that runs on into hours and I never have a need for milliseconds. I'm either doing single songs or podcast work, and just to have a rough timeline for keeping track of where things are would be great. Having hours and milliseconds up there, while practical for doing video work, only clutters up the timeline and makes it very hard to read. Side note: I would also like to be able to make the numbers in the timeline larger. I'm getting old, and on a high-resolution screen, the timeline numbers are really hard to see. If there was a way to either make them larger, or somehow de-clutter the lines, that would make having a timeline up there much more helpful, in my opinion. Thanks.
  7. I updated to 2021.21 a few days ago. When I bounce clips to a clip or to a track, the gain on the bounced clip or track is easily 12 db higher than the original material. Manipulating volume and gain in the source track doesn't seem to help--the bounce just maxes out the headroom anyway. This is brand new behavior, and it makes it pretty much impossible to work in Cakewalk, so I'd appreciate it if A) you could tell me how to roll this update back, or B) you could supply a fix or workaround.

  9. If your downloads were taking a very long time (or simply not starting) it looks like an update was pushed out today that solves the issue. To install, just (re)start the Software Center and let it upgrade itself
  10. I ve been using bandlab for years and found message which says "you need to activate in 13 days" when I launched bandlab yesterday. I googled it, also searched article about it in this forum, and found that I need to login by the Bandlab assistant. I did it, and re-launched bandlab, but the message didn't dissapear. Some web site vaguely said that there is some "activation" menu or something in the bandlab assistant, which I couldn't find. I uninstalled bandlab assistant , and reinstalled, but the result was the same. Also, there was a message "there're available updates" with link button "アップデート", when I launched bandlab, but what happened when I pushed the button was just flying to bandlab website. Is there any problem about my bandlab assistant or bandlab ? Especially about activation, I appreciate immediate help. Thank you.
  11. hello everyone at Cakewalk, I would like to give you a suggestion, because you guys don't make the CLIPS more clear. sometimes we want to see the sound waves. in the whole project. it has a lot of brightness in the colors of the TRACKS. I always used CAKEWALK. But throughout the project this goes. tired the view. you could give more waves in the waves, more details, for us to visualize better
  12. I'm a new user of Cakewalk . I got a message today when I opened my DAW that there is an update available. I did this and it will not finish. It says extracting files, about 70% done. What to do? This is from 1500 hrs this afternoon.
  13. Several times Bandlab Assistant has told me that a new release is available. The new release is version 2020.08. Each time that I have attempted to install the newer release via Bandlab I end up with the message "Installing" in Bandlab, and the message never goes away, and when I exit Bandlab Assistant Cakewalk is not updated to version 2020.08. I have tried while Cakewalk was running, and when it was not. And I have left the "Installing" message on overnight in case it takes a long time. But it never works. Help!
  14. The new 2020.08 update for Cakewalk is now available for download. I'm on the install screen for hours after my umpteenth update (after uninstalling and re-installing it again :( I really want to get this update in soon, since Cakewalk has been giving me dropouts left and right despite my troubleshoots with driver settings and etc. I need those bug fixes, FAM!   15. Hi guys! I've been using Cakewalk since the beginning of time (very close to the truth). I have a LOT of projects that I have created over the years and I do not want to lose them or be able to open them up to work on them. So, my question: Would I be able to revert back to a previous version that is still working, or am I stuck with the latest build. I looked through this discussion and I didn't see any talk about doing so. Thanks for the help! Groovus
  16. When I opened Bandlab Assistant, it prompts me to update. I click on 'update' and I get 'Automatic Update Failed'. It prompts me to download. I click 'download' and the red Bandlab beaker appears with "downloading, please wait". The progress bar freezes (I went off to do something else for an hour and it hadn't budged). And a message "Bandlab Assistant is running, click OK to close it" appears. Closing it doesn't seem to make a difference -- the download fails either way. I think there's a workaround but I forgot what it is.
  17. Hi. Just wanted to know if Bandlab have any future plans cakewalk UI theme to a more modern looking theme like most of the other DAWs or even the Bandlab online DAW (giving it that unified look). Making the buttons flat and smaller so the space can be utilized more efficiently.

After installing the latest update (V4) for Tascam's US20x20, i'm noticing strange behaviours here: - On tascam's mixer panel, the analog strip meters are not functioning except for a specific set of channels. - All of my ADAT channels seems silent at the moment. No signal at all seems to go through. Anyone else experienced problems?
  19. Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying this lockdown with extra creativity and recording. I was until Cakewalk started acting up, and i'm hoping someone has had this same issue, as i have not been able to find anything on the internet for this one. DAW loads up with no problem, when i load up a song, it stops when it gets to Addictive Drums 2 and this prompt pops up [Attached below]. The only button that does anything is the 1st-Switch to, and it takes me to my Windows 8 start screen, and i can't find anything open. I cant do anything with the DAW and its an endless circle, the only way to get out of it is to restart my desktop. Ive checked the drum maps and everything looks as it should. This started when i was still using the old official Sonar program, thought that could be a problem so downloaded Bandlab version and its the same. Updated AD2 and Melodyne before i switched to Bandlab, and i know updated can mess things up, Thank you if anyone has any ideas. Im not the most computer literate person so there might be a simple answer.
  20. Recently, I updated Cakewalk up to the latest version. However, upon opening my project that I have been working on, it made a lot..I MEAN A LOT..of popping sounds, coming from my speakers. Normally, I set the buffer size at fast and it still works very fine - this project is very simple - but with the latest version installed, I am annoyed that I need to set my buffer size near to safe, all the way to safe and not being able to record the vocal tracks, because of delays. So, I am curious if there is a way to downgrade it. By the way, I am using a ASUS Laptop, an Intel(R)Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50 GHz 2.71 GHz and a horrible RAM of 4GB.

  22. My studio computer is a Windows machine - a Sweetwater Creation Station, to be specific - and it is usually not connected to the internet. However, I do connect periodically to download updates for plugins, CbB, etc. The last time I did this Microsoft did its sneaky forced update thing, and now I cannot shut the machine down without Windows trying to install the latest version. I am terrified of letting it update, based on decades of experience with Windows updates, so I haven't shut the machine off for a couple of weeks now. I am really close to finishing a really big project, and do not want to risk Windows not playing nicely with CbB or plugins or anything else. So my question is: has anyone experienced problems with the latest Windows 10 update and your recording software? If so, were you able to get them resolved? Thanks for your thoughts & insights. P.S.: I'm about to head off to work, so it will be close to 12 hours before I can reply. 🙂
  23. Unfortunately our current Melodyne version 4.2.2 has an error which, in certain constellations, when the application starts, displays a “version is expired” message and quits again. We are truly sorry that we missed this bug. In any case you should replace your current Melodyne installation with the newest version 4.2.3, which we have uploaded. You can find the installer in your user account: https://services.celemony.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/LicenseApp The good news: documents you have saved with the 4.2.2 version are not affected by the problem in any way. After installing the new version you can continue working as always. We would like to sincerely apologise for the application error and the caused inconveniences and ask for your understanding.
