There are two possible bugs I have encountered. The first one occurs when I assign a knob to a VST plugin's parameter in the FX chain. When I move the knob, nothing happens—it doesn't work. However, when I close the UI and move the FX chain to a different track, the knob works perfectly. The second bug I experienced was related to using the quick group feature to change plugin parameters on multiple tracks in the mixing console view. Specifically, when I tested it with the Air Windows console plugin, some of the parameters didn't work properly. I had to reassign them, and then they functioned correctly. I haven't tried to reproduce them in a different project file.

I can't really say much about the quality differences, but generally speaking, paid plugins sound really good. Cakewalk by BandLab comes with the PC4K S-type Bus compressor, which is free and should have somewhat of an SSL sound. The PC4K S-type Channel Compressor is a paid plugin. There's also a paid SSL channel strip made by Sonimus, which is not an exact emulation. The compressor on the strip looks more like a bus compressor than a channel compressor, and it doesn't have a gate. So, you could potentially use the free 4k bus compressor in a similar way as you would with the Sonimus SSL channel strip, maybe. If you are a beginner, I recommend demoing some paid plugins to understand how they sound. By doing that, you may realize how easily you can achieve the sound you are looking for.

Plugin doctor demo version is actually enough to analyze single plugins If you want to mimic the curve of a plugin chain then this one is very useful. So in that sense, both are not free but free.

You can try Unlimited. Its a free plugin and relatively easy to use (no attack nor release). It's probably the best among free limiter plugins and I think it's as good as commercial products or even better. https://plugins4free.com/plugin/2843/ Other than that, some people say they like barricade by tonebooster which used to be a commercial product. Their v3 plugins are free so you could try it as well. Personally I do not own Adaptive limiter so I wish I could have it.

I bought FL studio so many years ago. I really like how they get all cool new features over the years even though I never really finished a single song on FL studio. I wonder if I ever get used to it... It looks super cool that you can use Patcher and creat your own GUI for it...

No, I haven't contacted TDR so maybe we could ask them. There was a thread about it like a year ago.

I also had a similar problem for VST3 versions of TDR plugins last time(a few months ago though). I saw a post somewhere, it works if you don't use 64 bit double precision. But if this is a kind of bug that can be fixed, I want this to be fixed.

Same, TSAR-1R is the only ProChannel I don't own. TSAR-1R usually goes as low as $39 but I hope it goes lower than that. Untill then I will wait.

This is the cheapest price I have ever seen so I bought it! After installing the plugin, the ProChannel version didn't work so I tried this version (v2.5.39.0) instead. I installed it to a different directory and then moved the Softube folder that contains vst2 dlls to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal It seems the installer overwrites vst3 files so you could temporarily remove the vst3 dll files to somewhere. (I didn't do that so my VST3 files are v2.5.39.0 and VST2 files arev2.5.58.0...) https://www.softube.com/installer-windows Also I didn't test them that much yet but it seems working.

I am just saying this because I was thinking about making a program for my personal use, I am lazy so I could not finish making it for Cakewalk but I have thought about how I could automate things in a DAW. My idea is not probably so efficient in terms the logic behind it because I am not a "real" programmer but with Python, I can make a small GUI program like a macro bar that has buttons that can run other scripts or any functions I code. And then I can trigger these buttons by assigning shortcut keys. by combining autohotkey, I can, with just a single key stroke, first activate the Macro Bar program so the program is focused can receive the shortcut and the press the button and that runs a python script which can do many kinds of things. You can automatically send key input, you can move mouse ,click on a certain X Y position on the screen or you can also do image search/color search on the screen and then click the image etc.. Well I have to think about how exactly I can achieve certain things like selecting certain tracks or move faders, but in theory, many things are technically possible. I have made a macro bar for bitwig studio, which only can trigger a shortcut key of bitwig so it's not doing anything crazy but in theory, I can assign certain mouse movement or something. http://g.recordit.co/ue0ad1co25.gif

Woah, incredible guitar super cool. The sound is cool too. I like this kind of music but do not know much. I used to have jam session over the internet and I played drums and this song reminds me of that time. Ever time I hear other players do cool stuff, I got so excited and felt I should try something cool. as well. I don't know how this was recorded but hearing the guitar part would have been exciting for that drummer as well! The drum sound is also cool

I want to share some things I discovered recently. I have installed Linux on my SSD USB stick. So I use linux as well, only sometimes though. So Bitwig announced CLAP last year and CLAP can be used on Linux as well. I was checking what tools are there available. And I found a DAW that nobody really knows but looks good. It can be used on Linux, Mac, and Win. https://www.zrythm.org/en/index.html There are also some developers who makes plugins for Linux, such as Overtone DSP, they seem like they are not making any new plugins for windows anymore but their plugins are CPU friendly. I have some of theirs for windows. I believe as there will be more CLAP plugins for the future, there should be more things available on Linux. So, for whatever reasons it got buggy and the patter file also contains the information of the bug which can be investigated? BREAK1.ssp
