  1. Superb! I could listen to this all day long, and I probably will. No crits here.
  2. Freddy, once again, thanks for your kind comments. That worldbeat flavor happened totally by accident, but I came to like it so it stayed in. I'm looking forward to your next tune.
  3. Daryl, thanks for listening to this song again. Now that you mention it, the hi-hats are particularly loud in the intro and transition between verses. I'll dial them down a notch. This is what I'm looking for.
  4. Thank you so much! I like em quirky, too.
  5. Some of you may recall this song; I posted it on the old site about 2 years ago. I received a ton of good advice, and I took notes but shelved this song, as I was getting worn from hearing it day after day. Since then, I've acquired quite of bit of new software and hardware, and I've changed my mixing technique, so I dusted this song off and remixed it. I took nearly all of the suggestions I received at the time, and here is the result: https://www.soundclick.com/html5/v4/player.cfm?songID=13638418 I've discovered that I like this song after all, and I hope you all do, as well. It's still open for suggestions, so thanks to all who have helped in the past and the present! p.s.- I inadvertently uploaded a 16/44.1 wave file to Soundclick, but it took it, so I'm curious to know if there are any conversion problems on anyone's system.
  6. Nice video and very good cover. You nailed the vocal and that makes this song a pleasure to listen to. Kudos!
  7. Kakku, over the years I've leaned that I never know what to expect from you, and this is no exception. This song has an upbeat feel that is somewhat rare in this style of music. I think it needs a little help to be classified as EDM; mainly, the bass could stand out a little more, as it has a soft attack and not so much bite. Other than that, it makes the listener feel good and is very danceable. Good job.
  8. I assume that you previously had no problem with CbB until lately? Without any more information, I'd suggest that you check to see if you have auto punch engaged. I've missed this one myself. Good luck.
  9. Very nice. TH-U is one of my favorite amp sims at the moment.
  10. You'll find that preset window in the export window. I tried to illustrate this in my screen pic.
  11. Freddy, as always, thanks for you kind words and time. Yes, the forum has helped very much with this mix. I know we have all benefited from this site. Speaking of collections, yours has grown quite a bit. You and many others keep inspiring me to keep this up, and I appreciate if very much!
  12. Thanks for the explanation, Wayne. I'm eager to see if I can do this in Vegas 12. I do remember your moniker quite well, as I've been a fan for a spell.
  13. Wayne, congratulations on setting the bar so high for the rest of us : ) Terrific song and video! Just curious, which video software are you using?
  14. Do you have "what you hear" checked in the preset window?
  15. Daryl, thanks for listening again and responding. Love your new song!
  16. Alan, I own both SF 12 and Vegas 12. They have been the most reliable and stable software of all I've ever owned. I just wish they were a bit more considerate of customers that recently upgraded with their pricing.
  17. @amiller and Ed D, thanks so much for you time and comments. I really appreciate the comments on the vocals! Take care.
  18. Very nice! This song has a heavy beat which matches the gravitas of the lyrics very well. Speaking of lyrics, yours are quite thought provoking, but they get a little buried by the reverb. Would you consider using a short slap back delay on a light setting? I think it would give you the ambience you want while still allowing the words to be clear and easily understandable. Just a thought. Anyway, congratulations on writing a terrific song!
  19. Daryl, this really grows on you fast. I've listened to this several times, and find it rather addictive. My only suggestion concerns the EQ of the vocal; it got to sounding shrill after a few listens so you might consider turning down the upper mids a bit, or a bit less compression. Otherwise, this is terrific!
  20. Well, Bob took the words right outta my mouth. I especially enjoyed your finger picking style, which I'm very weak on. Plus, I listened to "Lone Wolf" again and was wowed by that song, too. There's a fabulous BBQ joint just down the road from me where you could get a gig at should you ever decide to relocate to KC...
  21. "If you're lookin' for texture, you've come to the right place"
  22. It looks nice, but I just upgraded to SF12 less than a year ago, and now they want $200 more from me to get what I probably should have gotten last year. I think I'll jump off this bandwagon.
  23. Olivier, you chose a great song by a great songwriter to perform, and you pulled it off beautifully. You have one of the most resonant voices going, and you always seem to find the perfect songs for it. As for the volume, it sounds about right on my system, but, rather than lower the ceiling of your limiter, you could raise the threshold instead, and just catch the peaks. Still, a pleasure to listen to.
  24. I love this tapestry of unrequited love. The arrangement is simple, yet deceptive. It draws you in because it leaves room for the listener. I especially like the synth part that weaves its way through the song. My only suggestion would be to try out a warmer reverb on the vocal, as the subject matter is pretty cold to begin with. Other than that, this is a gem!
