  1. Makke, you have taken the place of the late, great Dick Dale. By now, you have quite an impressive repertoire of guitar instrumentals that you've created over the years. Keep it up!
  2. Yes! This does work. The picture is disturbing once you study it, and the music, with its dissonance, conveys that mood very well. The piece is mixed very well, also. Kudos!
  3. I admire anyone who's brave enough to take on the Beatles. This song is definitely not one of their easiest songs to cover, but you did a terrific job! You stayed true enough to the original to give me the flavor I want, yet put enough of your own spin on this to make it unique. Bravo!
  4. Thank you again, Tom. I did post Defying Gravity a few years ago, and it got a good response. It inspired the astronaut picture on my website. Thank you so much kakku. Especially all your support over the past years! Good deal! I tend to agree.
  5. I want to thank all of the kind words from all my friends here, and, especially, Bjorn for writing such a witty song. He's truly one of the better lyricists around.
  6. OK, I turned the vox up. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14005443 more?
  7. If you have Melodyne, just drag the file to the timeline and Melodyne will set the tempo.
  8. If Waves offers H-Reverb for $29, pick it up. It's very comprehensive and has a ton of presets for starting points.
  9. Who else can make a dystopian future seem so entertaining? Tom, this is superb! In many ways, this is a technical guidepost for the rest of us. It's inspiring in many ways. Congrats!
  10. Douglas, I had to listen to this a few times because the lyrics are worth repeating. Terrific song! The flute caught my attention, as it is very prominent, and I would suggest panning it closer to the middle so that it doesn't cover up the piano (?) in the right channel. I, too, like the vocal treatment and the overall vibe of this piece. Though your songs have a familiar and nostalgic vibe, I think you are unique and in your element. Nice work with Bjorn, btw.
  11. Jesse! Do you have a sweet tooth? I love the song and vocal, and my suggestion would be to flip the volume ratio of the instruments vs. vocal so the voice doesn't get buried. Otherwise, sweeeeet!
  12. Wookie, this is like time travel for me. It takes me back to the time when I started listening to and experimenting with synths in the 80's. Very nostalgic! This is one of my all time favorite songs of yours! I'm glad I made it to this party.
  13. LOL the 16th month depends on what country one lives in Wookie, thanks for taking the time! Perhaps you've noticed that a few others have said the same thing about the vocal. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Keep up the good work!
  14. Thanks, David, I did have a lot of fun. I just started humming and scatting into this f/x, and it resulted in this song. That's just scratching the surface, so stay tuned. Gary, I'm not ducking the vocal, but I can understand your concern. The vocal actually consists of 3 layers- one with f/x and 2 without. I may have gotten caught up in the "Invisible" motif a little too much regarding the mix? I don't mind remixing this, and thank you for taking a second listen!
  15. Bjorn, thanks for you kind words and advice. I took your suggestion for the remix. Stay tuned.
  16. Tom, I just reposted this with your (and others) suggestion in mind, and I like it better. Hopefully, this will help. Thanks, pal!
  17. Freddy, you have a way with words! Do you know my ex? lol In so many ways, you are the sociologist of the group. I love to listen to your songs, and this just keeps that trend going. I'd love to jam with you someday! I've been involved with a lot of family business lately, and I hope to be more active here in the near future, but I just have to act the "patriarch" sometime
  18. Tom, keep up the good work! If there ever was a time to be political, it's now.
  19. B36B, thanks for your time and kind words. Dan, thanks for listening to this and responding. Yeah, I'm kind of a sucker for sound toys like this. My inspiration is the songs from Pink Floyd's "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" with the vocorder (New Machine Pt. 1 & 2). In the future, I'll be more discreet with this toy, unless I'm not. lol
  20. Jesse, thanks for the encouraging words! It's time to step out from the norm... Nigel, it's always a good day when I'm compared to PG! Thanks a million.
  21. Thank you, Tom. It's always good to start with a decent song! Hi Gary, thanks for your reply. It does song like a tuner gone wrong (typical vocorder) The vocal should come up a bit! Mark, thanks for responding! The low end does need to come down a little, thanks for pointing this out. Douglas, it's good to hear from you. Thanks for your kind words and advice. I agree with you and Mark about the bottom end. I lack experience using synth bass, but I'll keep working on it.
  22. A couple of weeks ago, I picked up an OVox voice synthesizer from Waves and began experimenting with it. I came up with this song using its vocorder for the main pad and lead vocal. The sax sample is from Dimension Pro using my guitar played through MidiGuitar 2. The song was a lot of fun to create, but I need some extra ears on this, as I'm not entirely neutral about this, yet. As always, thanks in advance for your help and suggestions. Here is the link: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14005443 remixed on 3/16/20
  23. I believe that's true, and that's how I would use it if I was using an external synth rather than its built-in synth.
  24. I got this plug in and was able to simply put it in the f/x bin and turn on the echo input button to hear it live. I didn't enable the MIDI input to do this. It recorded just like that and worked well. No need to add a MIDI track, unless you're using an external synth, I think.
