  1. What I found confusing about the help was the bit about being signed into BA. I read that as BA must be running but that is not the case. What is required is a valid BA login must be stored on disk.
  2. Just ran 2019-01 build 27 on Win10 1809 even with BA 5.0.4 not running the update notification toast displayed in CbB. Notifications are set up just like the image in preferences.
  3. Probably depends on how old BA is on the machine in question. Likely needs to be a version released around the time the feature was added to CbB. BA has gone through quite a few changes since the initial release of CbB.
  4. "help module" is in the CbB help index Usually I find just what I need by loading the help index in a browser then search the page. Someday the full CbB help will be searchable like SONAR help. Until that time, if you cannot find want you want in the CbB help index, use the search in the upper right on http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/Home. The will return help pages about SONAR and other older Cakewalk products. Filter the result for "SONAR Platinum, Professional, Artist Documentation." The filters are just above the search results. Most times, the SONAR Platinum help is sufficient. Often it is possible to build a link to the CbB help by replacing SONAR with Cakewalk in the url. For example, searching for "help module" and filtering the result for "SONAR Platinum, Professional, Artist Documentation" yield this link as the first result https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Views.52.html probably all that is necessary in this case (although I would have already found help module in the CbB index) but to view the CbB page change the url to https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Views.52.html
  5. AFAIK, there have always been three tabs in the browser. Currently those tabs are for media, plug-ins and notes. The help module may be docked on the same side as the browser but does not appear as a tab. The help module is a separate window. Its keyboard shortcut is Y.
  6. Yeah, I have seen BA leave the full installer before but I don't count on it happening. Fortunately, there is enough time to grab a copy while it is being installed.
  7. Enable "Send All Keystrokes" in the standard header above the plug-in UI. J in the image below from https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.28.html
  8. Quick groups work on the show/hide automation lanes buttons
  9. AFAIK there is no requirement to have automation lanes visible to copy them
  10. Yes. For example, for 2019-03 build 15 BA will download and install the CbB 2019-03 update installer if it detects CbB 2019-01 build 27 is already installed. On the initial install or any version other than CbB 2019-01 build 27, BA will download and install the full CbB 3019-03 installer.
  11. For years there have been requests for smaller update only installers. To get the full installer, uninstall or roll back to an older version prior to applying the update.
  12. The following themes have been updated for 2019-03 Tuncury Tuncury Light Green Mercury Light Green All may be found on my Google page.
  13. Timing is everything. The update installer is much smaller than the full installer and will disappear quickly. The full installer only downloads on the initial install or when updating attempting to update an older version. IOW for this release, when updating from 2019.01.0.27, BA downloads a tiny update installer. When installing for the first time or updating any version other than 2019.01.0.27, BA downloads the full installer.
  14. While waiting for Meng, Noel or Jesse... AFAIK, the procedure has not changed. To get the full or update installer requires running BandLab Assistant. After BA finishes running the installer, it is deleted from %appdata%\bandlab-assistant\Downloads
  15. Shortcuts may be individually disabled by setting them to "Do nothing" There is no way to disable them all and selectively re-enable them. From what I have read, there may be an issue setting too many set to "Do nothing" too. I have not test this. It is possible to create an autohotkey script to temporarily trap all keystrokes going to CbB. I can create one if you wish. I am sure there are other third party programs to temporarily turn off the keyboard.
  16. There is a link to the current "What's New" page on the CbB help menu.
  17. At a minimum, make sure is disabled. When this is enabled, instrument and MIDI track inputs are changed from None to Omni automatically because a track cannot echo "None." When this happens any synth sending MIDI data gets picked up by the input echo enabled tracks. The same thing happens with manual control over input echo but at least the user has a little more control over when input echo is enabled.
  18. Could the image above be a custom layout? To test I renamed C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins\SonitusFXGate.dll and re-ran Cakewalk_by_BandLab_Setup_25.03.0.15.exe. The dll was installed. It appears the documentation is correct. CbB includes the Sonitus Gate.
  19. Usually this problem is caused by 2 things 1) having Always Echo Current MIDI Track enabled and 2) having "Enable MIDI Output" enabled on one or more synths, This option is enabled by default on synths which can send MIDI. There are a few places where the "Enable Synth Output" option may be viewed and edited: The insert synth options dialog The VST2/3 drop down in the standard header (see the "To enable VST MIDI input and output ports" section near the bottom of the page And in the synth rack where the option is available from the synth settings menu and the context menu for each synth found by right-clicking the synth in the rack.
  20. Input echo for a track using a patch point as an input or an aux track follow the same rules as any other audio track. IOW, the only way to hear the signal at the track input is with input echo enabled.
  21. This routes audio into the plug-in using the first pair of audio inputs. Which methods work (if any) depend on the plug-in. Glad you got if figured out.
  22. This does not link to an optimization process
  23. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Views.22.html#1540433 Here is an example of creating and merging steps in CbB. Each time after the steps are created CTRL+click-drag is used to merge the steps
  24. I messed with the Chord Properties yesterday - first time in years. In CbB, it came up with the Guitar group loaded. I am not sure if the template I created started with -Blank- or the factory basic template but I usually create a new "empty" template with every major release ( ex. 8.5, X3, 2015, CbB not the updates between major releases). Not sure if the template choice really matters though. Although, I would recommend build new templates rather than use templates from a previous release. Here is what I found out playing around with Chord Properties: SONAR and CbB ship with chordsnew.liw and chords.liw. These files seem to be identical and have not changed since 2011. They are placed in the user folder along with the ini files. Chord Properties creates and maintains a CHORDS.CWC file. This file is also stored in the user folder. If CHORDS.CWC exists, it is used instead of chords.liw. To revert to the default, rename/remove CHORDS.CWC.
