  1. What is the general consensus on the EFX Collection? Like the saying goes, which will I actually use?
  2. XSonic makes audio interfaces and midi controllers. In particular, the AIRSTEP line has amp controllers for Katana, Bias Spark, and Yamaha THR-II. For users of the Katana 50, which isn't compatible with the Boss GA-FC foot pedal, this adds a lot of functionality, such as individual control of each of the effects, that simply would not be available with that amp. https://xsonicaudio.com/collections/all Also available through Amazon at a higher price which is a wash when shipping is taken into account.
  3. It's Groove Monkee, kind of like that prefab band with the TV show that had Jimi Hendrix open for them.
  4. They also have personalized deals to complete your collection of expansion packs. In some cases you can get expansion packs for as low as $7 per pack if you buy into these completion bundles.
  5. Awesome. I don't want any pitiful deals, just the good ones!
  6. I get more better ideas for production from this series than I have from a stack of CM magazines. This video makes me want Fragments.
  7. I don't think I would want to try that, but good luck.
  8. For those who haven't started this one yet, I'd recommend turning off the music. They have a small selection of songs from the 40s that will just eat away at your brain.
  9. MAX does not contain XGear or Mesa/Boogie 2.
  10. I'd like to see Pigments on sale. I'd also like to see a decent sale on EZ-Bass. It would be nice if Overloud's annual semi-no-brainer plugin deal was for their vocal processor.
  11. Back in the day there were also plugins which had different versions for the number/types of outputs they had. Some older versions of Kontakt did this as well as LinPlug's drum machines (RM III, RM IV, RMV) There's also plugins having the FX version (original z3ta+)
  12. Don't forget the LE versions you may have updated and all the software which has a different plugin for each version number. There's also the 32 bit and 62 bit versions, demos, etc. I imagine that for those of us on the high end, bundles add a lot to that. I have tons of things I don't use from IK's group buy last year, there's a lot in the Nomad Factory bundle, etc.
  13. I was thinking more like the expansion from the Roland days.
  14. My main issue with the setup program is that it asks you setup information for every single program. It would take a lot less time if you could just kick it off and let it run. It's not like after not installing the AAX version for the first 32 plugins, I am suddenly going to want that for Wurli V.
  15. My price was $269. I appreciate you putting up this link because on the My Account page they only gave me the option for the Cinematic Compendium. It's nice to see that I had four other options.
  16. I found that it is great for creating percussion parts. Take a simple hi hat loop and run it through one of the more rhythmic patches in Objeq Delay and you will see what I mean.
  17. A lot of the patches here are variations on a theme. They share similar architecture, but are not just the same rack with different settings of the knobs. For example, in version 1 you might have a cable going from point A to B, in version 2 the cable goes from C to D, and might not be there at all in version 3. There are some analog plucks, dirty basses, dubstep wobbles, percussion sequences which sound like they could have been made with Chromaphone, guitar like things, individual drum sounds, something that sounds like a Peruvian flute mashed up with tabla drums, a few typical sequences, and some saturated sounds. I don't know what they included for Swatches, but you can get a better idea here on the demo page. https://www.applied-acoustics.com/modular-city/
  18. Yeah, we wouldn't want them to spread their resources so thin that their flagship synthesizer ships 8 months late and without a functional browser.
  19. I actually used "growing fonder" as a title of one of the pieces I was going to use as a demo for my Absynth patches. Or maybe that was the name of a patch I wrote.
  20. I had a whole bunch of really cool Rapture patches I created. I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great if I sold them. And then Cakewalk went out of business. I also had a few cool sounds for RMV. Then I realized I had a lot of cool Absynth patches and there's no longer Absynth. I'm thinking, maybe I should go around to synth developers and pay me not to develop patches for them. "Hey, Xfer, I see that you've got a nice synth called Serum there. It'd be a shame if anything were to happen to it..."
  21. The Expansions all tend to have Battery content.
  22. Where's the button for "I hate what you are saying even though you are probably right"?
  23. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-7/ COMING IN OCTOBER 2022 For 20 years, KONTAKT has been the backbone of countless film scores and pop hits, as well as thousands of incredible instruments from NI and your favorite NKS developers alike. Now, with a new HiDPI browsing experience, an overhauled Factory Library, new creative effects, and under-the-hood audio improvements, the next evolution is nearly here. KONTAKT 7 will launch in October 2022 and is included with KOMPLETE 14 STANDARD and above.
  24. I can't believe they got rid of that one.
