  1. I guess the verb and delay are ok(ish) if you're starting out and have little else. Babylon lasted about 10 minutes on my pc, couldn't find a single reason to keep it. Never tried the other two so can't comment re those.
  2. I'm curious to know what went through your mind the first time you heard the Beatles sing I wanna hold your ham ?
  3. No, I'd say Cakewalk. The other bit sounds stupid. Almost as bad as things that claim to be "powered by" or when watching US football coverage....The Lexus stoppage time.

I thought the cat did it?
  5. That's what I used to think were the words to this... What songs did you once mishear?
  6. Poor Bapu. Because of his dodgy hearing he has spent all these years not realising that what he was actually offered were farm labouring opportunities to dye a sheep and haul some oats.
  7. Apparently there's talk of a bidding war with IKM.
  8. I've had one or two over the years that would probably still be playing now if I hadn't stopped them. Never solved those either. It was a recurring theme on the previous forum for years. The reason why it was a PITA for me was because it thought the project went on forever, it messed up the scaling in TV so using the navigation slider at the bottom of TV to move back and forth along the time line was all but impossible.
  9. I've often thought that the residents of future old age care homes are going to be a very strange looking bunch with all their wrinkly tattoos and surgical "enhancements"
  10. Based on that price the HD in my car would have cost $13,592,000. 😀
  11. I think there were a few names that went from one to the other and IIRC at least one that went from one to the other and then back again.
  12. Yup. Not being allowed to say anything is the new free speech. Although to be fair an Overlord has very recently stated that deletions are "extremely rare". You can see for your yourself in the........... Oh wait.... It's gone.
  13. Francisco Partners still sounds like an expensive hair salon to me. I'm thinking that from the customer's POV nothing good will come of this. Back in the Gibson dark days I hoped that Izotope would pick up Cakewalk. It always seemed like half the staff were interchangeable anyway and a DAW program that came with built in and optimised Izotope would have been hard to resist.
  14. I must be missing something because I've been trying to spend what is, in theory, a decent amount of rewards money for about 2 years and I can never find anything remotely tempting.
  15. Pfft....... Bapu's DAW takes twice as long as that just to scan the VST's that he doesn't use.
  16. 37,000 feet. AFAIK I've never heard anything higher than that.
  17. I thought I already answered this question in another thread........ oh wait........ 93 million miles or more so I'm told.
  18. To me that all just sounds like a combination of COBOL and LKS.
  19. You'll only be disappointed. Best to keep the hope that the news is actually worth the fuss alive for as long a possible.
  20. What is that thing that they are using to point at the button? it looks like somebody photoshopped a toe onto the end of a finger.😱
  21. Not really a "home" computer as such, but the first one I remember being in the house was like this... The printer was almost the same size and printed onto that green and white striped paper with the holes down the side. If you were feeling creative you could make a picture using carefully place x's or whatever. It had two games on it, Othello and Chess. I could win at the former, but not so much the latter. I did once learn to write a very basic program on it that asked you lots of questions where the next question would appear to be tailored to the last question like it was actually talking to you and taking the answers on board, but ultimately whatever you typed in it would come to the conclusion that having looked at your answers, you stink, which seemed very amusing to my young self. Happy days.
  22. Just to prove that you can't please everyone, that's the one thing I really hope they don't do, especially if updating means more like Studio One, which eye candy browser aside is hard to look at for long. I think the thing that is sorely missing is not having the controller manufacturers kind of endorsing it with easy integration. A newbie looking at midi controllers might not even realise that CW exists. There's obviously a reason why plug and play type of integration is missing from all the controller manufacturers, but it seems to me like something that needs to be addressed. That and the undo unfreeze bug that despite the apparent commitment to bug fixes, they still seem very reluctant to fix for some reason. (yeah, I know that isn't really making any difference to the amount if users, it's just a personal irritation that to my simple, non-programmer's mind surely can't be too difficult to fix.)
  23. It has to be re-authorised every 6 months, so that should give them a pretty good idea of how many downloaders are actually using it. I doubt that it's anywhere near 15 million.
