  1. Gary , Nothing special in the chain. Used an AT 3035 with low cut. Sonitus eq, Izotope vocal doubler , Sonitus reverb. Pro channel- comp, gloss eq(subtractive and notching)console emulator. At the end I used the style dial "grit" module . This made a Big difference trying to get the rough vocal sound I wanted. Still have some minor work to do on the opening vocal line. Part of this corrupt project was any vocal overdubs sounded like they were recorded on different planets. Thanks mark
  2. @lapasoa where in the pro channel can you find the Gibson J200 presets. Are they listed in the pro channel section if you click on the fx chain first ? I havn't been able to locate anything obvious for this. Thanks .. mark
  3. Tom , I know Nothing about working remotely , but if there is "anything" you think I could add to this project count me in. As a retired auto worker , and at a time when GM was acting like Gibson and bailing out on their employees and retirees (for their own benefit) Joe Biden "personally" stepped in. Feel free to pm me. mark
  4. @User 905133Yes I'm referring to the arp in the track inspector column for a midi track. 1/32 rate and 4 octaves worked well for what I was doing. I don't think I could have gotten it done so easy using my controller. Mouse was easy. @Javadude54The measure long notes were a single drum hit with the duration dragged out a measure or however long I wanted it. The arp repeated it until the end of the measure. 2 of these long ones were going most of the time with different short ones added for accents. Easily done just in prv. ms
  5. Sadicus , I'm done with the main body of the project but don't know yet what to do with it. As far as the tabla track , I built the entire 3.5 min. of it in about a half hour using a mouse in prv with the arp. It would have taken me forever any other way. Some of the drums were a measure long and other were real short hits. It was easy to edit without having much show up in prv. When I did a bounce to clips , the screen got so full I had a harder time editing further , but I could get more precise. Try is sometime , it could probably be done just using percussion instruments also. It was actually fun doing it. Good luck .. mark
  6. Are you using the built in CbB arpeggiator ? I recently built a tabla drum track , and all the arp hits showed up in prv after bouncing to clips. I think I remember another post with the same problem until they used the CbB arp .. ms

    eye contact

Spy theme for sure. I thought the overall mix was Very good. In my opinion , I think the brass section could be tamed a little at the 2.06 mark. The melody here was fine but something thinned out the mix in this section. That was some excellent guitar work thru the entire song. You sound like a very polished jazz guitarist. That was a pleasure to listen to . mark
  8. Well done ! I especially liked the change around the 4 mark. Could build an entire song around that section alone. I thought the drums were Fantastic. Sure must be nice not having to work with a drum synth. Enjoyed it. mark
  9. I tamed the drums, the link now reflects the changes. Seems a lot smoother to me now. It sure is nice to have professional input and suggestions. You guy's are great! Thanks for all the help and great comments. Later .. mark
  10. Thanks for the comments and suggestions so far. The snare drum has gotten on my nerves from the beginning. I keep turning it down but it keeps coming back up during mastering. I really hadn't considered deleting notes. Thanks @batsbrewfor that one. The busy off kilter drums are one of the main hooks in the original song but I guess everyone is in agreement I kinda missed it. I've done a lot to the drums already and sounding a lot better. Not done yet. To Tom @DeeringAmpsthanks again. I've done a handfull of covers mainly during my cassette days and a couple I sent to my brother , but this is really my first full blown cover project.. Thanks .. mark
  11. I took a writing break and did my first cover song . Gary Clark Jr.'s Take me down south. I had a corrupt project that took me forever to finish. Any suggestions will be great. I'll remove the song afterwards. I did it just to keep for myself. Weapons - Godin Lapatrie , G&L asat , Homemade lap steel , old blues harp , SI drums . Thanks .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/down-south-cover
  12. If it's a vocal track your editing you can also use melodyne (if you have it) and just delete the noise blobs. I'll do that on minor stuff since I'm going to use melodyne anyway. If you don't have it , it's a great tool to get .. ms
  13. Again .. Fantastic. Your acoustic talents and vocals make me want to hear more like this. This shure wasn't your basic strumming . A bigger fan now.. mark
  14. Lee , this one had a great feel. Perfect choice for the vocal harmony's on the Great choruses . The lead break and organ were A1. It wasn't an abrupt ending but I think a longer fade out would be nicer. Enjoyed it .. mark
  15. It all started loading Th3 in a track using a home built lap slide with an apparent ground problem. I developed a mild hiss when my left hand and slide were on the strings and when right hand touched the metal pickup cover (minor). Loading amps made it get Real Bad . I found an acceptable amp , but got a blue screen crash with recovery file when I loaded a cabinet. Rebooted and everything seemed OK. Ran a ground wire on my instrument . I recorded the track , then recorded the now "mild" hiss and removed it from the track using ReaFir. I'm now in the final mix stage with Way too many strange things happen in this project to even mention after the crash. I probably should have started working in the recovery file . I guess my question is Could a ground problem in an instrument cause a Major blue screen software crash ? I sure have learned a lot of workarounds trying to finish a corrupt project.. Thanks mark

    3 am

Smooth .. The first half gave me more of a sense of awe and wonderment than anything creepy , when the second half came in I got it. One part took me to a blade runner feeling. Lots of cool stuff here to like. Enjoyed it very much.. mark
  17. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and fantastic comments. You always help me identify problem areas I'm not aware of. I really appreciate the Boz Scaggs references , definitely take that as a compliment. I love doing instrumentals but I've started working harder on vocal songs before my Old voice kicks the bucket for good. Thanks again ... mark
  18. Hey John , very nice song I think that was a great arrangement . I sure wish I had your vocal range. Enjoyed it .. mark
  19. Sven , I really liked the way you made this dark song sound so cheerful. Made me smile .. Loved it. mark
  20. That is an incredibly sweet and dreamy guitar tone. Are you using the chorus effect from the delay pedal at all ? The knob looked like it was all the way down , or up .. Very nice. Thanks mark

    So Cold ..

Here's an acoustic ballad I've been going back and forth with for a while. Shortened it a few times but now settled on this longer version. Fictional lost love break up song from a guy getting the last word in , but too tired to get excited . Any feedback welcome. Thanks for the listen .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/so-cold
  22. Nice collection of songs. I thought you did a great job on recording the acoustics , especially on "I will" The acoustic was so clean on this one it felt like it was right in front of me. Great job .. mark
  23. Chappel , Nice composition ! sounds like its' ready to drop the walking bass line a few db and lay down some vocals.
  24. Yes , old programs I've used since windows 98 and XP were the norms. I went to plugin mngr. and checked my scan path. Showing up as C not C x86 . Looking at the files , I've got the same exact .Dll files for the 64 bit CbB as I do for my old 32 bit programs , nothing telling me about 32 or 64 bit , so I guess my question is still unanswered. I think we've about beaten this topic to death , but their may be some clues here somewhere. Thanks for your help ... mark
  25. My old programs were boxed "32 bit only" from the early XP days. Nothing from the command center. I just wanted to know how to tell if CbB was using the 64 or the 32 bit version of TTS since they are both installed.
