  1. Kenny , the Washburn/Tele combo was real nice. Smooth as a pit bull. Congrats on the new friend .. mark
  2. That was Fantastic! Sure got that Steele Dan vibe down. I Really enjoyed the listen. mark
  3. Fantastic job Gary , you really can tell the seasoned quality of you voice on this one. Superbly sung ! I got a bunch of teeth pulled , then my dentist shut down because of covid. I havn't minded wearing a mask at all while waiting to finish my dental work , but it really has effected my singing. Doesn't seem to be a problem with you .. mark
  4. Gary , Great song and especially your "silky" vocals. I don't know what's happening with the synth and piano but they don't have the clarity I think they need to compliment your vocals. They may be just a little too far up front. I think the vocals should be the star in this one with the backing just quietly reinforcing it . Anyway .. I know it won't be done till you're happy with it . Enjoyed it .. mark
  5. Yes , actually sing "San Francisco days" , skip a phrase , and sing the next phrase that carries the same melody "I'll go back some day". Pretty sparse or none at all on the first chorus , then progressively louder each chorus afterwards. ms
  6. Barry , Huge improvement on the 2nd mix and the new drummer lyrics are way better. I really like the drum tracks and the new guitar parts. I would like to hear a strong harmony coming in every other phrase starting on "San Francisco days". I'm also hearing some distortion in a few places almost like clipping 3:44/3:58/4:21 . I removed earbuds and checked these spots again with Bose headphones . Same "broken speaker" type sound. I believe it's a specific vocal eq freq. I thought this was some great storytelling and great song. mark
  7. Blue lights normally scare me.. but after seeing these I ordered some .

    using audio snap

I've used audio snap for the first time on a couple of tracks . I used "clip follows project". If I'm satisfied with the results "do I need to bounce to clips or tracks afterwards to bake it in" Thanks mark
  9. That was a Long long way from folk , but you are on the very edge of producing some Fantastic music. I Very much enjoyed this from the start to finish. I thought it flowed nicely and you sure tagged the ending. Great job ! mark
  10. Just below your main toolbar section , and normally on the right side , there is a disable auto crossfade icon. Mine is in the same section of the screen where the region fx is. There's probably more than one way , I've never used the crossfade or had to turn it off. ms
  11. Douglas , Great song and a classic vintage vibe. I thought the vocals and treatment was fantastic. It felt like I set the needle down on a favorite classic LP. Enjoyed it very much .. mark
  12. bjorn, Thanks for the comment .. It took me a few passes thru to get a handle on a pretty big issue between two of the main L/R guitar tracks and the way they were going back and forth. It was more noticeable at the beginning , but it carried out thru the entire song. When I get it all edited I'll post a "remix 2" I would have Never found or addressed this without your expert opinion. Great call ! Thanks again to everyone.. mark
  13. I must admit I knew nothing about Betty Davis music until now. After some research I don't how I missed her. That was Very creative. I really liked the tone of the wah and how immersive it was , and liked the transition around 2:19 going into the more chicken pickin vibe. Good job pulling the vocals out. Enjoyed it. mark
  14. The link now reflects changes I made. If I missed it or have further suggestions let me know. Thank You .. mark
  15. The link to the song doesn't yet reflect the changes I made. I'll repost it tomorrow if I don't get any further suggestions. Thanks , you just confirmed it was a problem. mark
  16. Great comments , and spot on suggestions. Thanks You ! @noynekkerThe snare was hitting Hard , especially on the 1 and 3. I reduced the snare volume in the clip then reduced the entire clip resulting in a lowering of 2 more tracks. The bow dragging at the end was using chime points and something I'll do more of. @David SprouseI reduced the cellos 3db and automated the vocal clip up after the intro. "Amazing" difference with just these changes. Smoother , cleaner and more Punch. Keep picking it apart and I'll keep fixin it. Send me a bill. Thanks .. mark

    Doo Dah

I was surfing for some female vocals and ran across a male vocal chops clip that was too strange not to use. It turned into a funk song . I found a groove and just hung there. I did get to try some new stuff on my cello. It's been up and down from Soundcloud 4 times getting it to this point , so any suggestions are more than welcome. I wanted to wait awhile with so many Fantastic songs posted lately , but after seeing Gary Bruns new studio pics in the coffee house , I'm wanting to finish this one and start remodeling.. Thanks markhttps://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/doo-dah
  18. Gary , that is Beautiful ! If it were mine there would be a bed in there somewhere...
  19. Peter , that was a Very professional production in Every aspect ! I Loved the vocals and the video was very captivating. I believe that was worth years of thought and effort. Enjoyed it .. mark

    ..........

Great song and great timing! I've got a pile of purchase and warranty information in front of me Right Now for a vehicle problem. This was perfect. I'm glad I'm not the only one Thanks .. mark
  21. It sounds like you played very well together and had some fun. I thought the harmony was great. I don't know what the damage was , but you fixed it. Enjoyed ... mark
  22. First off welcome to the forum. I was assuming these files were just downloaded samples. If they were you just slide the tracks left or right until the notes you can see in the waveforms line up. If these clips were lined up and sounded right in Finale you should be able keep them lined up in CbB. Always be sure your bpm is set the same in both projects. If the Cakewalk/Sonar Guru "scook" ever responds to one of your questions , take his advice . If it gets confusing someone will usually clear it up. ms
  23. I still have music creator 4 , Sonar home studio 7, and le 8.5 installed. The latest version of CbB Now has all the plugins I used in these old programs. I have my screen set up real clean an simple but can easily call up different views when I need them. You can with a little effort , set up and keep everything like you want it to look . It makes learning the new software a lot less confusing.
  24. I've found , Some audio files you import may not line up perfectly even if they're the same bpm until you line up the actual notes in the clip instead of the very beginning of the clip. The original authors of the clips may have trimmed the start in different positions. Some with some silence first , some dead on the first note.
  25. Kevin , I loved "Everything" about this song. Great mix and blend of electric and acoustic. mark
