  1. I Loved your vocal style on this one ! I Totally agree about the Great drum track as well. I thought this was a Fantastic production. mark
  2. @jack c. Thanks mate. The link now reflects a Final mix. I'm calling this instrumental version "done" . I did a basic cleanup removing a few unneeded short parts. Did some work on the kick and bass and put a little more snap in the snare. I also added some percussion to help drive the beat. Cowbell for one .. (mixed back). Thank's for the listens and comments ! mark
  3. I havn't been seeing their posts. I've only got one user from this forum on my "ignore this user" list. Click their profile and you can select to hide their posts. It's been a more enjoyable forum for me. He no longer exists .. mark
  4. @noynekker Thanks my friend . Higher energy songs are a lot more satisfying while tracking. Good idea about a lyrical path. I'll play with it .. @Bajan Blue Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to listen and comment. Means a lot .. @freddy j I Appreciate the listen and wonderful comment. This one has been fun indeed. @DeeringAmps Thank You for the comment(s). I actually wanted to do more harp work. It turns out I really didn't get the right keyed harp to be able to cut loose on the higher notes. My pile of harps is so old , most are unplayable .. @daryl1968 Thanks , I was surprised finding this one myself and wondered why I never finished it. Must have gotten distracted with another project. I ended up removing 58 of them from my projects folder. Sure gained some hard drive space. The link now reflects a Very mild remix. Put a little bottom end in the Twangy Tele sections. I also renamed it , per @Old Joad catching it's actually a G# funk song. Nice catch. mark
  5. Nio , The mix sounds plenty wide enough now after this listen. What is sticking out to me in this mix is the high percussion instrument that comes in right about 1/2 way thru the song. It's pretty brittle , like you need to roll some highs off of it. It comes in again close to the ending and it's a little distracting on the my normal listening headphones. I also think the vocals could have a little more impact. They sound like they were recorded well , timing and pitch is spot on. The copy you have to work with may have been a little too compressed. I think now it's a reverb adjustment that could bring it to life. They sound a little flat without much depth. Maybe a more agressive reverb with a fairly long pre-delay would do it . ?? Sounds like you are willing to get this sounding as good as possible. I'm sure your former bandmates will appreciate it. mark
  6. Daryl , That was a Fantastic clean production. I for sure got some Steely Dan impressions. I Loved the low harmonies you laid under the main vox and the main was smoooth. I liked the synth work especially that change at the outro. Enjoyed it .. mark
  7. @hsmusic , Thanks .. that means a lot coming from someone with your talent .. mark
  8. Thanks for the reply. Yes it's G#. Before I got very far into recording playing with some vocals , I just tuned down a 1/2 step as I normally do. Didn't bother to rename the track.. @KSband Appreciate it. I actually did enjoy doing the different (for me) electric stuff. I Really enjoyed doing the harmonica . I had to wait for one to arrive in the offset key. I remember when good blues harps were cheap ! So .. I had to buy a new soldering station , a pack of usb connectors and a harp just to get this one done. The party never ends .. mark
  9. Hello , backing up files and removing them from my projects folder, I found this one I put on hold. I remixed it and used some better plugins. I added a synth track and had to stop half way thru to replace the usb port on my controller. (Fun Job) I'm pretty heavy on the guitars and harmonica. Three different acoustics and 3 tracks from my G&L. It's a pretty short simple instrumental for now. Been playing with some vox.. Hear anything that gets your attention needing work , don't be shy , let me have it ! Thanks .. mark -Remix- 3 https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14734816
  10. I thought that was Very entertaining ! The smoothness of the song was Outstanding. Loved it .. mark

Very Nice mix. I like the simpler laid back vibe this one has. The guitar sections worked well . Enjoyed it .. mark
  12. Thanks Glenn , I must have just overlooked it. I'll check it afterwhile. I must be going blind. mark Edit - Hidden in plain sight !
  13. I've been playing around with my controller using an instrument track. The track inspector is only showing the recieving buss. I cant seem to be able to bring up the controls for the midi track (quantize , arp ,etc ..) in the track view or console view. I normally use the synth and first output when loading an instrument. mark
  14. Fantastic Production ! Now I Really understand why I like your music so well. Amazing what you recorded 22 years ago. Loved it .. mark
  15. Barry , that made a deep impression. Well Done ! I'm glad I live in the sticks .. mark
  16. Look at your blend knob for input monitoring (if you have one). You may be hearing while you are recording but not what has been recorded. Check the output selection from your track and your master bus. ms
  17. Click your normally used workspace setting . I suspect that the meters are still there but hidden. Grab the right side of edge where the FX is and drag it to the right. If this "is" the case , after you get it the way you want , click the down arrow on workspace and click "save workspace". Later .. If things start looking different , just click your normally used workspace again.
  18. Great job from the bakers ! I'm actually going to wait for the public release before updating though. Seems I just moved my gear to access internet a few weeks ago. Probably won't be long before early access has confirmed the stability. One more update before the Big change.. (maybe) ms
  19. ^^ Totally agree. They may have known that .. and this was a challenge they were willing to take to verify their expertise. Kinda reminds me of a guy who was recently in the news under house arrest for hacking. He was held in a motel until his trial. He used a smart tv in the room with a fire stick in it and hacked another well known corp. He said he'd Never stop. They're on a mission. ms
  20. I looked these guys up and watched their youtube live videos. These guys are an honest Americana Duo and very good. Believe it or not they are "still" on Soundcloud. Started following them. They've only got a few followers .. ms
  21. @Noel Borthwick Any free version (without a timeout) with the ability to open project/bundle files and export stems would be a nice move. Especially if it will run on Win7! There are a few of us that don't have access to X -series or any 64 bit Sonar Daws. I can open these with my old 32 bit programs , but my projects are Loaded with vst3s and really not worth the effort. I am one of the users who will probably have to replace my PC and upgrade my OS to efficiently run the new Sonar. Timing will be crucial .. Thanks .. mark
  22. That was a hell of an article ! I've been wondering where all of my royalties have been going .. ms
  23. I may be wrong but .. I think if you use a simple instrument track , you can still load effects like a regular audio track. If this is the case , TH3 has a vibrado module . (maybe it's tremolo ?) ms
  24. Rex , I love the early 80s vibe this one has especially in the intro. It puts me in mind of great bands like Tears for Fears. As usual .. Fantastic vocals ! As far as adding anything .. I was wanting to here some vocal shadowing after about halfway thru the song on the choruses. LOVE .. (love) IS .. (is) A WONDER .. (wonder). I think it would build the choruses up more as the song progresses. I thought it was also crying out for a lead guitar break @2:55 on top of the present guitar tracks. I Really enjoyed this .. mark
  25. Bruce , (again) .. I really enjoyed working with you ! You always challenge me , and I love putting in fill parts behind an already well written and performed song. I'm Really looking forward to a video. Hope you get to use the Canadian Cowboy on the song cover art .. mark
