  1. Hey Nigel, thanks a lot! Always appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment on my music.
  2. Thanks for the kind comment. Glad it represented well, I was a bit nervous that it wouldn't! I didn't want to try to reproduce the original, since that we clearly be impossible. Instead, tried to preserve it's original character and dignity, while putting my own vibe to it. Glad it came across well, really means a lot coming from a true Deadhead!
  3. I've wanted to cover this Grateful Dead tune for some time. Composed in 1970, the wonderful, timeless lyrics were penned by Robert Hunter, with music by Jerry Garcia. A bit of a departure from the band's early psychedelic music, it really hearkens back to Garcia's early roots in folk music. I tried to preserve the intimate character of the original song, while putting a bit of a different rhythmic vibe to it.
  4. Hi Treesha, very cool and creative composition, well conceived and performed! Nice production work overall, great sound selection, good balance and use of panning effects. Happy vibe, cool chord changes, and like the synth leads and flourishes thru out. Great work!
  5. Wow Peter, this is really fabulous! If you hadn't said anything, I would've thought the instrumentation was originally done together with the rap! Your arrangement and instrument choices are all very tasty and fit well. Honestly, nothing jumped out that needs dramatic adjustment. Seemed very spontaneous with the improvisational feel, and having some imperfections seems to fit well also. Looks like you have a future as a hip hop producer, my friend!
  6. Really like this track, strong composition and performance. Mix wise, I agree with Treesha, biggest thing I hear is the guitar is kind of hogging the center of the mix. Seems like it should be moved back and spread out, and the vocals should be more forward and present. You could even set a side chain compressor to duck the guitars when the vocals come in and then they could go back up again when vocs stop. Overall great job though, keep at it!
  7. Hey, great job on this Keith! Really well composed, produced and performed. Excellent guitar work, overall sound is good, but seems like the lead section could perhaps be a little more upfront. Maybe cut the reverb a bit or make it less roomy sounding. Really loved the backwards piano at the beginning!

Hey Keith, thanks so much for the listen and the feedback! And haha, you win the booby prize!! You're the first one to catch the synth programming nod to Welcome to the Machine, or at least to mention it 😁

Hey Larry, thanks man, I appreciate the listen and the feedback! Yeah, I actually have thought about that very thing, I actually remixed it recently and tried to pump that section up a little bit. It's a bit of a dilemma, because when I turn it up too much, it the thumping seems to distort. I added some compression, and it seemed to help, maybe I'll revisit it again and try spreading it out a bit like you said...

Here's a new tune I finished up recently. Finally broke down and invested in Omnisphere a couple months ago, so this was kind of a maiden voyage through those deep waters! I started and ended with a clock ticking sound to set the rhythm and also the theme of the song, and at the same time JohnnyV was doing his own "clock ticking" song. Haha, great minds think alike!
  21. Hey Lynn, extremely cool track!! Very unique and interesting composition, in a good way! As always, musicianship is top notch, especially the guitar work. Bass collab is spot on as well. Only critique I have is same as has been said, vocal mixing may benefit from tweaking. IMO, delay effect is cool, I know the effect you are going for, but maybe a bit more selective and not on for the entire song. Don't know though, your call, it does add to the effect of "connecting dots". Great work my friend!!
