Recommended Posts

Is anyone selling his ozone 5? Need it for an old project that I need to remix.

If you still own it, you can download it from Izotope.  I had a problem with mine and contacted Izotope and they sent me a link to download it again.

Curious as to why you need O5 specifically. I'd think O6/7/8 would be fairly simple to substitute.

Bitflipper you have to know  Ozone 5 was a plugin not like Ozone 6 which is also a stand alone Version.

Harry - I have Ozone since version 4 - I am on version 8 now - it's also a plug in just like Ozone 5 - Version 8 is far superior to 5 IMO - i believe its also on sale at the moment

True, but that doesn't answer my question. Ozone 5 doesn't do anything that subsequent versions can't duplicate.

Ok, i will try to get over KVR or ebay, thank you.

@bitflipper: It's specifically about the EQ in Ozone 5, so you could create, save and reload a set of match curves. The set is still there, but unfortunately, this feature is no longer available in any newer version of ozone, well, maybe in the upcoming version 9. Who knows :)

I have Ozone 5 and 6 but find I mostly use 5 for my "traditional country" mastering.   6 seemed to be a step backward compared to 5.

Because 5 does what I need, I haven't found a need to upgrade.

The newer versions do have EQ matching, but you need to repeat the process each time and have the reference available. They will not save/load "snapshotsets" like O5 did though, which is a reason I keep O5 installed as well. O5A was the last "fully loaded" version, reverb, insight, etc., which sort of fell apart until the bundles upgraded.

If you still have the reference material, a trial of a newer version would also work, just be sure to bake it if you go that route. Melda also has a few plugins with this feature you could also trial.

Ozone 5 had some fine reverb

Yes it did. I wish they hadn't dropped that.

If people do have a copy of Ozone 5 (I do) it’s probably been used to upgrade to 6 then 7, then 8 or similar (like I have). That means you can’t sell 5 because its part of your current Ozone licence.
