  1. I think I may finally capitulate at this price. (Maybe. Still determining if it has any potential application to songs I work on. Kind of dubious about that.)

    oooops

    Installed?
  3. Oh if that’s useable even if not owning Anthology that’s great!
  4. Maybe it's because I've bought Eventide plugins as one-offs during sales. Although I like and use their plugins, their update process is tiresome. Years ago Arturia had the same issue for me. They would update and then one by one I would have to download and install each item separately. Then Arturia caught up with the modern era and created their Software Center to manage it all. Eventide (for me anyway) is still in the one by one install scenario. I haven't seen a single app to manage their plugins and updates. It would be nice if there was one.
  5. I think it would be a hefty lift to modernize it. But they do a great job each year of adding to it!
  6. Sounds like that to me as well. I moved to having a USB dongle - several companies take advantage of that - including Waves, Overloud and Black Rooster. I already have an iLok dongle. In any case, this was prompted (and was the remedy for) an experience similar to yours.
  7. I suggest the Ultra upgrade at $199 - that way you get all the available included tracks and styles for the latest version. Then Xtra Styles as desired and the $49 Pak as desired.
  8. This just appeared in the Reveal store. Still available at BF pricing at $9.98. Good value!
  9. The sale window is probably closing at some point at the Reveal store. But in looking for some additional super affordable additions for Spire I came across this one. Michael Oakley kindly talks a bit at the intro about Spire and about how he approached this particular set. I like it. Pretty great value for anyone with an interest in retro.
  10. Speaking of Howard Smith, it appears he has just released a new item. At 4:11 in this clip there’s a patch that sounds like it is begging to be in a song. I haven’t looked yet but I would think this might be available within the BF window and pricing.
  11. Everyone has different tastes so suggesting examples from Spire preset packs may suit or not suit your interests. I’ll just mention a couple to perhaps help anyone on the fence who hasn’t heard example Spire patches yet.
  12. An arrow to the heart! Both Ample Sound, and Rickenbacker! I'll have to scrape up $89 before this intro ends, even though there's nothing left in the budget.
  13. This came to my attention as SAGE Audio has recommended this a couple times including in a new clip yesterday. I took a look at it and here's a review clip below. It's a nice tape effect, more capable than many other ones. I thought I'd at least give a heads up on it. https://www.toneboosters.com/tb_reelbus_v4.html
  14. I was traumatized by the installation and activation process. I think that was for collection 2 a couple years ago. At that time the instructions were to go to two different sites and to use two different layered activation codes. It was awful and touch and go to understand. Once I got it working I lost the courage to upgrade.
  15. Agreed!! I’ve used this plenty and always liked the sound. Not sure how it compares, but it contains great presets that are spot on for some very popular songs. I wasn’t aware of this update so very glad to see the post about it here.
  16. John at Plugin Guru on his most recent Livestream (in the link below at the 42min mark) said he was going to offer Unify for $59 for the Black Friday weekend and encouraged to get the word out. They've never reduced to $59 except for when they first introduced the product several years ago. So I'm helping him amplify that message here. If you don't have Unify yet, it's a heck of a lot of capability and sound capabilities for a very low price!

    Dune 3

Feels like you’re in the movie with some of the presets.
  18. I think Fleer is attracted to nice UIs. Sonic Academy’s Ana 2 ver 2.5 is a very attractive looking synth. The UI is very appealing. The sound is also very good. The number of preset packs for it is fairly limited.
  19. Regardless, as is, right now this is a great sounding synth.
  20. “Chill” is a word that comes to mind with a number of Spire packs. They even have a category of preset packs in the Reveal store for Chill. I’m also a huge fan of Rapid. It sounds great! But like Avenger its preset packs are pricey. The Spire universe (it’s like a universe with so many preset packs) is way more affordable. The presets packs are pretty consistently full of very good sounds.
  21. Lee - with the zillion low cost preset packs - a wide range of styles are available with Spire, not just Trance. Sometimes I think of Spire as like having Vengeance Avenger-level amazing sounds - without all the out of control automation. Of course when I want all that pre-programmed out of control goodness I have Avenger or Dune. But to have great sounds at the fingertips and not need to turn off a bunch of automation, and at a very economical price, Spire always comes through for me with great sounds (and easily favoriteable presets). So I use it often.
  22. I have it already - but a reminder some had interest in Broken Wurli and were waiting for a sale.
  23. @Fleer - this is a "by the way" - but I just looked and I have 4 of the at least 10 Reveal Sound preset libraries that are all Plucks. So you can roost in your chicken house with Spire. For some suggestions for others (I would suggest firstly that you get Spire when it's on sale, and then wait for a Reveal Sound store sale when everything is substantially discounted to grab some presets). But who I have a bunch of presets from each for Spire: Howard Smith, Reveal itself, Bellatrix Audio, Freak, Freshly Squeezed Samples, Patchbay And then I have a bunch of one-offs, and two-offs - like from the usual providers like Luftrum, Plugin Guru, New Loops, AZS
  24. One of the reasons I like Spire so much (in addition to the sounds being so useable) is that there is a universe of add-on preset packs and they are often (in various up to 50% sales through the year) super, super affordable - like in the $10 to 12 range. I have no idea how many add-on preset packs I have accumulated, but way more than for other synths. They also are pretty consistently full of great sounds. One example of the contributors is Howard Smith - he has a a number of very excellent packs. I've easily used at least one or more Spire tracks on every song I've created for the last couple of years.
