  1. I went to the BIOS and disabled the onboard audio there. I'm pretty sure my console has a better DAC than the motherboard of my computer. Since windows can't even see the onboard audio (to include also the HDMI audio to my video monitor) it won't even try to install those drivers.
  2. Mine told me to manually install BandLab Assistant. I had to reboot and make sure BA was shutdown, grabbed the file that was manually downloaded from the previous attempt and ran that. It installed and I was able to move on with updating CbB.
  3. The Cakewalk Command Center still works - there just isn't anything new since 2017.10[23.10.0.4] available. That was when Gibson shut down Cakewalk and no longer supported it. BandLab did pick up the intellectual property shortly after and by April released the first version of Cakewalk By BandLab. It isn't that CCC isn't useful - if you need to reinstalled SPLAT or the plug-ins that were purchased "back then" then CCC can still install them. But if you want new, you only have the choice of a new company and their way of supporting the product - which is the BandLab Assistant.
  4. I generally start my work at 2:1:000 for that reason. That first "empty" measure gives the computer and synth time to run all the initial messages needed.
  5. Sadly, elastique doesn't do pitch yet as far as I can tell.
  6. Audacity is in the "OK" range for results. I don't think you have a 64 bit engine in it (I could be wrong). I usually really only use Audacity for special effects, and pitch shifting for that reason - making sounds "odd" on purpose. It does work, though.
  7. Well, I'm not having any luck on how to use élastique. I cheat and usually use Audacity for pitch work. Cakewalk by BandLab documentation needs to be updated, I think, to include How To Use for the new toys. Melodyne should do it too - if you have a non-Trial/Demo version.
  8. You're looking for élastique Pro time/pitch which is now included in Cakewalk by BandLab.
  9. Or they might be planning to deprecate the dll's and add more streamlined support for the Style Dials.
  10. The last version I got on Disc was SONAR Home Studio 7 XL (2010). SONAR X1 onward it was all downloadable content. SONAR X1 through X3 provided an Activation/Registration Code, so you want those (print out your My Products page). Platinum began the Cakewalk Command Center and online validation. The latest Home Studio also does the online validation.
  11. I'm betting that until BandLab releases it's own versions of the plugins, they'll keep a server or two dedicated to keeping Cakewalk Command Center working. I have Dimension Pro and Rapture SE (was gonna buy myself Rapture Pro for Christmas 2017.... and then >POOF< the Gibson thing). Along that vein, I expect BandLab will eventually offer Z3TA+ 2, Rapture Pro and a few of the other products - probably not for free, at least I wouldn't expect them to give everything away free. But of course, I'm just guessing.
  12. Also, remember each octave doubles the frequency of a note. So double BPM is an octave up in pitch. -12 on pitch restores the pitch to normal. Feel like I should mention that this is NOT true of MIDI, just audio... lol.
  13. Interesting. I had the same Curiosity Attack and installed it to a 2009 Mac Book I happen to have. The Mac Book is on the Latest Mac OSX (minus 1 - the 2009 has reached the end of OSX compatibility with the previous release "High Sierra"). I haven't hooked up to my MIDI Controller - but I was able to open a tutorial project on the Mac. You might check that you didn't use the wrong password for the "Old" Cakewalk store. Oh, yeah, and because it isn't coming down from the Apple App Store, I had to provide the Mac Book credentials and password to authorize the install of both Command Center and the various packages - In addition to signing into Cakewalk Command Center.
  14. Rapture Pro was on my To Buy list when Gibson shut down Cakewalk. I was this "" close! I do hope BandLab makes it available, for purchase or otherwise.
  15. Since I won't be able to visit NAMM, I hope you all post lovely pictures and blog posts about the booth and your participation at 2019 NAMM.
  16. The link works for me as well. I wonder if there is some sort of localization restriction based on where @kajunjeaux is trying to access it from. Some countries block content from specific sites or domains.
  17. Overture sounds right.... Ah, I found a link to the post: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Message-from-Don-Williams-Overture-5-Updated-m3699129.aspx Maybe @Meng and Don Williams can have a conversation about this. Unless @Noel Borthwick and team already have something in the works.
  18. I'm going to add that it would be nice to see the hardware side of BandLab linked to as well. They did win a 2018 NAMM Best In Show award for the Link Analog interface. Then there are the guitars they offer with the Harmony brand. Who knows what else?
  19. I think BandLab needs to promote the availability of Cakewalk by BandLab more openly on the BandLab website. It seems, at least for now, that you need to know the secret handshake to find it. I think, as of the most recent updates especially, that the product is ready for public consumption. At least make it findable from the https://www.bandlab.com front page (and the same with this forum).
  20. There was a big discussion of this in the previous forum. I don't recall the deep details, but I think the change of ownership kind of needed a branding update and they discussed what to rebrand it as. They went with the tried and true, and ancient, name Cakewalk for the product. The name that the product originally had (all the way back in to the 1980s). SONAR as a name was new, controversial (well, when they changed from Cakewalk to SONAR it was) and carried with it baggage that BandLab wanted to leave behind. I did suggest "Bandlab Advanced Digital Audio Software Suite" but it didn't work out that way.
  21. The Function is there (here?) ... At your name in the upper right with the drop down, go to Account Settings and you should see "Signature" on the left.
  22. Humor is one of the key essentials in life.
  23. I think you just created it here in the Coffee House.
  24. I'll use this space to say: Thank you @Meng, and thank you @Jesse Jost and @laurent I expect this will be as busy or busier than the previous forum as we can now welcome new users (I hope). Oh, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays no matter what you celebrate. From today forward, the days get brighter.
