    PRV Snap toggle

I use PRV snap resolution toggle using a keybinding and have never had an issue with it. - on mine Cakewalk, it's under the Keyboard shortcuts. Area: Piano Roll View under the name "PRV Snap Override" In relation to your second point - yes, I feel your pain. That is why when ever I make changes to Keyboard shortcuts, I export the file in case something goes astray. I do remember times when I would create a Keyboard shortcut, I press the key, and Cakewalk just sits there laughing at me. I could not assign a given key combination to anything. When ever this happened, I think this was due to duplicate entries occurring internally. When this happened, here is what I did to fix it. Create a keybinding to a CAL script - does not matter which one, as long as you remember the name. Export the Keyboard shortcuts file twice to generate two KBN files, each with a different name (one is for a backup). Open one of the resultant KBN files with any text editor. Search for the occurrence of the CAL script name in that file - there will be an entry Kx{number}={CAL script name}. Search for any other occurrences of Kx{number} and delete those lines - that should free up that keybinding and remove duplicates. Reimport the edited KBN file back into Cakewalk. If something does wrong, you have the other unedited KBN file to import. This is something I did a while back to fix non responsive key combinations and it worked. It allowed those non responsive key combinations to now be used. One other thing to be aware of is that, if you’re using them, Workspaces can load their own keybindings. On my system, I do use Workspaces. However, I have configured them not to load Keyboard Shortcuts (Use Workspace Manager to do this)
  2. Define “the speaker” The Focusrite's driver is the correct driver and this does support ASIO mode in Cakewalk (and any other DAW that supports ASIO). I have the Focusrite 2i2 and I can play MP3 files though the 2i2 using any program whether Cakewalk is opened or closed. Everywhere where you can set the sample rate, bit depth and buffer size, make sure they are set to the the same values. Check the Windows Sound settings Start + Run (or Winkey + R) > mmsys.cpl. Confirm your default sound device. I have 2 sound devices, the Focusrite 2i2 is set as the default. Its sample rate is 48000hz 24 bit, 256 samples buffer size. How exactly are you attempting to playing your MP3 file? Which program? Any details you can give would be helpful.
  3. It would help immensely if you could tell us what audio interface you have. Also, what was the result when you downloaded and installed the latest driver for said audio interface (I am assuming that’s the first thing you tried) Note: If there are native ASIO drivers available for your audio interface comes, ASIO is the preferred driver mode.
  4. They should offer a deeper discount for those with RX7 Standard. I am not sure that RX8 Standard is worth the upgrade price for non guitarists with RX7 Standard.
  5. I adjusted the transpose effect in a MIDI track’s effect bin and transposed the notes using the effect by +3 intervals. It did not change the notes as they appeared in the staff view. However, as expected, it did change the notes that were actually played by +3 intervals. Are you sure you’re adding the MIDI effect in the MIDI track’s effect bin?
  6. Could a work-around be to use the transpose MIDI effect in the MIDI track's effect bin to do the transpose?
  7. Yeah, you're right ... instrument track..... it's been a stressful week....
  8. Is this a monophonic source or a full mix. If it's a monophonic source , then you can drag the audio clip to the timeline (This is assuming you have Melodyne Essentials installed) If it's a full mix, then really the only way to do it properly is painstakingly transcribing it by ear. There are programs that claim some success, but the results usually sound like a cat walking up and down the keyboard.

    Strange Audio issue

First things first. Can it be assumed that a PC and audio interface power cycle is the first thing you've tried? Maybe reinstall the drivers for your Focusrite 2i4 For what its worth, you might want to try the Focusrite Beta drivers as CbB is specifically mentioned in the notes for that driver. http://beta.focusrite.com
  10. Synthmaster Works fine here. Is Synthmaster's VST DLL (Which is SynthMaster2.dll) in one of the folders defined in Preferences | File | VST Settings > VST Scan Paths? If so, have you done a scan? If you’re using a Custom Plugin Layout, did you put Synthmaster in that Custom Plugin Layout?

    Audio failed to draw

I am assuming you closed Cakewalk while attempting the clearing of the folder. Any waveform files will be rebuilt. Just delete all of the files in there.

    Audio failed to draw

Try clearing the files from the your picture Folder The location is defined here: Preferences | File | Audio data
  13. I was implying to try slow bounce and see if you get the same result.
  14. Do the random clicks and pops happen with slow bounce?
  15. I would like the default action to not dock unless CTRL is held down.

    Windows 11

Me neither... I like my taskbar at the top - and so far in 11, it’s it's stuck to the bottom like a hemeoroid. Oh and this whole TPM thing.... don’t get me started.....
  17. As this is not specific to the Early Release, you might want to open a ticket with Cakewalk support. https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633
  18. As long as you are using a synth that responds to velocity, that's how you can do it. Bear in mind that, with many synths, velocity can change more than mere volume - but editing velocities is a good starting point.
  19. From your description, the first thing you might want to try is uninstall and reinstall your hardware drivers (on mine , the 21H1 feature update reverted my Nvidia drivers to January 2021). Also make sure your samplerate, bit depth and buffer size are the same every where. What version, build of Windows and CbB (Numerically - don't just say “The latest” ) There has been a Windows 10 feature update recently, so that might have made changes to your drivers and configuration. This feature update also re-enabled my USB power saving that I intentionally had disabled.
  20. This will be available in the next pubic update. This is available now in the CbB 2021.6 Early Release Build 41

    Windows 11

Usually the reason most PCs will not run Windows 11 (it it's current form) is lack of Trusted Platform Module version 2.0. (it's also been stated that by the time the public release comes around TPM 1.2 will be the minimum requirement)
  22. Confirmed. The the last event of every track disappears from a type 1 (and type 0) midi file here as well (CbB 2021.6 Build 41) Some CAL scripts (or more accurately, commands) required only 1 clip to be selected to work properly. Also some commands will now crash CbB (Yes, I am looking at you EditSlide and EditSlide40). As CAL scripts are technically a depreciated (but still bloody useful) feature, don’t expect anything to be fixed in relation to CAL scripts any time soon. Mind you, I still program CAL scripts - I just work around the CbB related issues to make sure they work properly in CbB (like editing time values of events directly rather that using EditSlide and EditSlide40 commands). One other thing to note is that your PPQ needs to be set to 960 for the timing functions CAL scripts to work properly.
  23. Sometimes VST2 works best, sometimes VST3 works best. It depends on the plugin. For that reason, I like to install both. Note: The VST DLL and VST3 files themselves take up very little space. If you are concerned about the space they occupy, time for a hard drive upgrade I think.
