I have Luftrum Bioscape, which is also an interesting library for game/filmscore/ambient, based on field recordings, but probably not the same scope as Lunaris is for general pads. Awesome developer/sound designer! He also updated Bioscape with a larger UI. User sample import is a plus!

I already have the latest Ableton Live 11 Suite. So I'm not really all that interested in also investing in Bitwig Studio. But I was curious about some features in Bitwig that Ableton doesn't have. It looks like a great program, but the 2 plugin limit in 8-track was a real showstopper for me as far as any meaningful use. You are right about getting the Bitwig 16-track (for unlimited plugins), but that's $69 (Winter special) to upgrade from 8-track to 16-track.

I would only recommend Bitwig 8-track if you want an upgrade step to the full program. 8 tracks is probably enough for some things, but on it's own I found it mostly useless as 8-track limits you to 2 plugins. Whoah!!! 🙄

I keep hoping that one of these years the annual BIAB update would include a modern facelift. But since that might upset some long-time users, it would be cool if it was a skin or workspace that you could just toggle Legacy/Modern whichever one you wished...

I see that the kHs snapin prices have been updated, but that Phase Plant and Multipass are still showing full price, compared to the sale price (-50%) at Kilohearts.

I've got 322GB of IK content installed here on my SATA SSD Data drive. Plus have another 4GB for IK program files on my M.2 Windows Boot SSD. And the plugin .dll/.vst3 files are scattered across across a couple of plugin folders, but the individual plugin files are not very large.

I don't have a the count, but there are a good number of factory presets. Check out the Atmospheres and Pads. I like those! The Leads and Bass presets are good too! Don't look in the Keys category. Too many cheesy synth e-pianos in there might hurt your delicately tuned ears!

Was the reason I chose to bump up from v14 to v18. No doubt that v20 will probably be in a Humble Bundle in the near future! I also installed Movie Studio 2022 to give it a quick look. Has a clean modern UI and looks like it might be great for small video projects and for less seasoned or occasional video producers.

The Ample Guitar M Lite and the Bass P lite were a couple of the first free plugins that I acquired! They sound great! In fact, I own a Fender P bass, and the Ample bass nails the fingered bass, IMO! Add an amp and cab sim and you are good to go! -

I like AAS products, and have the full versions of Chromaphone 3 and Ultra Analog VA-3 as a result of collecting the free sound packs. I liked those two synths the best! I am tempted to check out the latest Swatches with the Multiphonics CV-1 patches, but don't really want to go there as I have already invested in the full Cherry Audio Voltage Modular ecosystem. Adding another modular rack-style synth would certainly make my brain cells implode! 🤪

I was on Vegas Pro Edit 14, so this was a worthwhile bump ahead 4 years in technology for $25.

I do too! It's one of the new open source kids on the block, and well done too! Vital gets most of the buzz as the best new free synth (and I like that one too), but Odin has a different vibe that I also like.

Just a guess here, but it sounds to me as if something other than KK or Native Access went awry if third party plugins lost their authorizations. KK always runs a plugin scan at startup in standalone mode so I assume it's just checking them.
