  1. FWIW I seen that this library qualifies for reduced crossgrade to full Kontakt. Kontakt stand alone is 399.00. Crossgrade is 249.00. Would this be a reason to buy it? I guess if you're looking for an orchestra library it might be. I calculate the difference between buying Orchestra and crossgrading to Complete Orchestra at 330.00 US. Buying it outright is 399.00 199.00 > 129.00 crossgrade. Not sure if they will let you buy the 1st and immediately crossgrade or not.
  2. Thanks Barrie, Still looking at this and trying to decide. Seems a bit much for a 6gb library but it can do some amazing things.
  3. Ok.............. Here's another one. It's the new Christmas 2020 wrapping paper design, special COVID release print. Sorry not a pig this time. Maybe next?
  4. Why don't they list coffee here?

Mark , Thanks for listening and comments.
  8. If I buy the version on sale and later wanted "Complete" can you tell me how much that would cost? I would be down 199.00 US already. As I understand it the basic orchestra version does not have midi export. The complete version does. I can upgrade to BBCSO Core for 400.00 total. It doesn't have all the arpeggios in it though it is a fine orchestra. If I get Complete for somewhere around 350.00 total that's not far from the BBCSO price....and Orchestra is only 6gb . It's smaller than Amadeus which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 12gb. That's double the size. Amadeus is considered a scratch pad library although it sounds good, so what does that say about The Orchestra? i don't mean to sound negative. Just thinking about this as compared to other options.

I looked at the Tascam DP24-SD. Looks like a very full featured stand alone recorder. So luckily you can at least get those three tracks and drums down "live" but also as separate tracks. Tempo doesn't really seem to be as much of an issue here. I've used click tracks . They can be ok but they can also be bad because you can loose the vibe or swing of the music. If it was me what would I do? Hmmm.............................If I were making something to sell at gigs or online I would probably lean more in the direction of replacing the drums completely due to the limited mix. I would take the dry tracks from the Tascam, IOW no reverb or tampering at all, and feed them right into Cakewalk. Have singers in a non live area ( no reverb) and close to mics when singing. Mic'd pianos can be ok but a patched synth with a piano sound into the board or vsti is probably going to sound better. Grand pianos are best with two mics usually. One mic, no matter now nice the piano is might not cover it. Once you have everything in dry including the drum track for reference. Add a reverb bus to the mix, select a reverb and add send to the tracks you want to hear reverb in. FYI you need VERY little reverb. Download a free drum kit online MTPOWERKIT to use as a replacement for the existing kit. Alternately you can mix the two together for a more cohesive feel...like maybe just the snare at low volume and roll everything else off on the original. Maybe get your drummer to tap the beats in. I didn't hear much of the bass in this mix. Same could be done with it as with drums. Alternately, go into an equipped studio, pay them a little and track it with everything there all set up. JMHO.

You have had some really good advice already. It seems you can send individual tracks to your daw for further work. IOW this isn't a stereo 2 channel mix I take it? I say the following thinking these are independent tracks. Drum replacer comes with CbB ? This might be helpful in adding more bottom end to it the drums or alternately play a drum sample on keys underneath the bass drum, or the kit if you only have the kit on one track. The "thwack" of the snare is a bit much. You might be able to back it off some in EQ. A better solution would be more in line with forensic subtraction like Izotope RX. Expensive program though for those features. Vocal tracks can be slightly panned and balanced for a more cohesive sounding harmony. If i could I would remove the bass track and add your own walking bass to give the piece more movement. "IF" this is a two track master you are obviously much more limited. You could alternately use the track as a guide, bring everyone into the studio and retake in a better environment. The only issue here is sometimes the music will loose it's pizzazz or mojo because it isn't live and you don't have that energy. Best case would probably be to retrack all live in the studio and tell them to imagine they are performing it live

Loving the addition of the drums here which isn't something I remember hearing much of in past works. When it comes to synths you are the man...great work Wookie!
  12. Very well done. I didn't hear the originals so I can't compare. This was extremely musical, tight, well defined and well mixed! Thanks for sharing. May I ask where you get your video footage from?

Max- Thanks for your comments to help me mix this a little better! Much appreciated. Here's the run down of this mix. I used a full KS acoustic Sampletank guitar for the first track. I play real guitars but this was easier since there's no miking etc. Admittedly the end result is probably better but might not seem as natural. I added guitar harmonics on another track and slightly effected it. There's a second ST guitar , a nylon string playing as a second player might play to add parts. This is mostly in the low mids. The nylon strings lend well to a softer tone. Main parts are panned at about 19% L/R. Reverb is Abbey Road Chambers using a guitar room setting. I sent the guitar tracks to a side chain in a master compressor in the master bus. It's the compressor typically in the master bus of the PC. The setting here were mostly to tame low mids. The ST guitars are effected slightly for realism in the ST program using mostly T-Racks plugins. Low end is rolled off in EQ below 30hz on both tracks and master. I have very light compression on individual guitar channels, as in it almost never kicks in. Only on the most aggressive transients. The flute is on a separate reverb and also slightly fed to the Abbey road bus. I wanted a very spacial feel to the flute. I almost used the Boz panning plugin but used the included panners instead. My goal was a somewhat mellow guitar flavor so the high mids aren't accentuated. Thanks for the suggestion on the bell. I will see to that. The master is run through a McDSP ML 4000 4. Mostly for the limiter but I also used the multiband compressor and an exciter on the transients in the high ranges that's part of the ML4000. Limited at around -2db on the master. Mix went in at -6db. Mixed to K-14. Exported and went to Lurssen for a slight boost in overall volume and presence. If you can pinpoint the places where your hearing a clash I'll see what I can do. Not sure what a track spacer is?

Acoustic tune I tracked 8/12. Made entirely in Cakewalk. Comments welcome.
  15. I was headed home on my normal commute and couldn't help but notice all of the tobacco planted between corn in the fields. This must be harvest week because the Amish were out there gathering it yesterday. A cash crop for them I guess. Must pay nicely. Then I had to wonder how that could possibly be in line with their belief. In selling something that there's no way in heck it can be good for anyone. I had to wonder if weed was legal to grow and sell here would they do that as well?
  16. Twice for me......ok three times or was it four? I don't really care to remember.
  17. Talented. Nice recording too. Did you all do this in the buff? Bedroom studio 3. The cover is conceptually a concept in as far as I can conceive....uh. Never mind. Admittedly I was around 40 years ago. Couldn't help thinking though , probably 50% or more of the people here weren't.
  18. Yep, this once went for much much more. This is a great price.
  19. Hi Jerry- Nice work on this one! Sort of like a hybrid between modern sequenced works and a symphony. Interesting combination here. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Gary- Thank you for this suggestion. As soon as I can get the time I will revisit it. Ironically after going through three different flute sounds I ended up with this. What is ironic is that it is one of the least expensive flutes I own and it won against single libraries costing a lot more. It's a flute I have never used in the software version of Korg M-1. Thanks for your help ! Douglas- Thanks for listening! Deering Amps, Is it Tom? This further confirms I should look at the flute. Appreciate you giving the locations. I don't think I added compression on the flute. Maybe some light EQ or compression will help. Nigel- Thanks! Never been to SA. Would love to visit some time to see those marshes. Thanks for further comments on mix. My monitors are just "ok" I have grown to like them though. I'll try listening through some other systems and maybe I can pin it down. I hate to admit that many others probably have better hearing than I do. Cheers!
  21. I had a Tauris...well it was really the mercury version called the Sable. It was a loaded up luxury sedan. Took it on a few long trips. Was a daily driver for awhile. Very nice riding car. That 6 cylinder engine had issues that caused the water from the cooling system to get into the engine oil. Aluminum heads cast iron cylinder block. Dissimilar metals didn't expand/contract the same which caused head gasket leaks. Long story short the car I had was bought used from a coworker. About the time I bought it the problem occurred. Couldn't afford to take it to a shop and have the engine pulled. I did the repairs myself. Still remember it in my then girlfriend's dad's driveway in a middle class PA neighborhood. She is now my wife. ...anyways, I did those repairs right there. Pulled the heads, took them to a machine shop to be planed. new head gaskets, torked to specs. Ran great after I did that repair for about 6 months until the transmission started to go in it. Engine was still ok. It would drive but the tranny would jerk when shifting. I wasn't set up to work on automatic transmissions so I decided to drive it like that until it died. It still drove but it had that jerky shift problem. Not really worth the money it would take to fix it. Eventually gave it to my son who drove it until it wouldn't go any more. He was tough on cars. My dad had one of those econolines like yours. His was a good vehicle. I remember the engine compartment being slightly off to the side in it. I had an older one for awhile back in the day. When I bought it used someone had attempted to put a roll away roof over the entire area of the roof in it. The mechanism failed and the rain would leak through it. I decided to replace it with a huge plexiglass window for a roof. This was both good and bad. The good part was you were able to lay in the back on a clear night and see all the stars. The bad news was in Ga. with 100F temperatures and no air conditioning it got hot in there if it wasn't covered. I mean REALLY hot. Could probably have baked cakes in there.
  22. Reminds me of an old Peter Pan joke. ...never mind.
  23. Sorry to hear about Duke Kenny. I have two who are like family. I can't imagine not having them around. Here's hoping his transition will be painless if that's where he's at. If he still has some days left, here's to him enjoying all of them. If there's a dog heaven let's hope you'll get to see him again one day if and when the worst happens.

The title seems to set you up for something with a more electronic bent to it. In fact, there are some buried electronic elements in it but they aren't as overt. A theme based medieval/celtic direction was my goal. Comments welcome!
