I know what your talking about. I have my timeline set to defaults but my Markers are set to Light Blue as seen in the photo below. I believe there is a way to change the timeline MBT colors in preferences (Not Theme related). I just haven't searched for it, only my Markers But my guess is its there (in preferences).

Being from Boston I watched this band go from having their Demo songs on WBCN to world wide success in a matter of months. This performance of "Just what I needed" was a complete mind blower for me as I thought the cars were traveling in the wrong direction with Heartbeat city. Sure it was a commercial success but not like their early albums which had strong Punk and Rock influences. Their first 2 songs at live aid (You might think and Drive) were a Yawn. But when I watched the performance of "Just what I needed" I was floored. And it still holds up till this day.

Sounds to me like the Import Activation Response for offline use. If your installing Sonar to the same PC than you can reuse these Import Activation Response files for offline use of Sonar Platinum.

If you deleted all your tracks at the end of a session (exited the project)) than no.... The project is no longer with us. However if you have a saved a working project / or have saved points to fall back on than you're good. Because the audio remains in the folder (unless you use the Clean audio function).

See in my case, I didn't buy another DAW when Gibson went under, instead I focused on finishing up the material I had within Sonar and then I would learn a new DAW when finished(I bought Studio one). I loaded it up and have opened it.. But I only intended to do serious work in Studio one if Cakewalk by Bandlab gave me any lip. So far she's been a good girl. How long will it be free ? Im not worrying about that just like im not worrying about what I will do when my free car dies. Totally see your points though. I felt just like you did a year ago.

if I may ask are you using 1 limiter or 2 ? I typically use 1 (sometimes a multiband compressor/limiter) to tame the edges and then use another 1 to slam it right up in the face. I master to -0.2 dbfs. I used the K system for ever until I learned about the LUFS standard (loudness units relative to full scale). I have found over the years that mastering is more of a science than an art form. Its about calculations and numbers. Sure there are those times we are able to be creative but for the most part its about adding the correct ingredients to the correct meal. You're not only preparing the food... you are serving it too.

Listened to the 1st song. Great tune. Loved how the Choruses came in with 3 big guitars (one in each speaker/one up the middle). That center guitar that plays through out the majority of the song could stand out a bit more though (I think anyway). Could be done using Delay/chorus or possible a touch of reverb.

All versions before Sonar X3 were serial/registration which means no online authorization is required, these versions will work for ever (considering you have a supporting OS). your second question is trivial because even though you need to be online to authorize Bandlab you can use it offline

I also agree, I would love to see Aim Asst fonts a big larger. I can see them now but they are a bit smaller than I would like. I believe Cakewalks largest user base is between 40 - 60 years old. Which means the eye sight is on its way out the door. IE- We need bigger letters so we can read them.

Bandlab is doing something way ahead of its time. So for them to own their own DAW is an integral part of their process. They sell interfaces, Harmony guitars and more. I know what your thinking.."There must be more than that". Well maybe there is.. Maybe its the analytic data they want. If Bandlab wants access to how many times I hit the Undo button, by all means let them. I can understand where your curiosity might get the best of you but just let it play out. Use Cakewalk and be happy. I consider what Bandlab has given us (this past year) as a gift. A big one at that.

Always power up all interfaces/midi devices before powering up Sonar.

I don't save the installers, I haven't since Bandlab took over. Its not like the Sonar days where the installer was saved to Command center. Now you must save the install before completing the installation process. I haven't had any issues with new releases so ive never needed to save any installers. I was simply trying to save you the hassle of wasting your time. Band lab calls home with each new release. Trying to install 2019.01 will require Bandlab 5.0.3

Im not sure I really understand here. as Karhide just mentioned, you wont be able to use it unless you authorize it first. So just download the Bandlab asst and that will allow you to install 2019/01

if transport start stop doesn't fix the issue look no closer than epicVerb. Some users complained of oddities in other DAWs as well.

What kind of plug ins/ VST I Synths are you running in this project ? Can you list them or is the list too long ? My guess is its a plug in that doesn't want to play nice with Sonar. Possibly an older 32 VST plug in.

Just wanted to let you know... it appears they added a new maximum for project templates (500). From the (2019.01) Release Notes: "Start Screen can now show up to 500 project templates (previously limited to 100)"

Make sure to synchronize the Track view and Console view 1. Click the Strips menu in the Console view and choose Track Manager to open the Track Manager dialog box. 2. Clear the Keep track/console visibility states in sync check box and click OK.

I thought the same as L Tim Audiosnap is a great tool for this very purpose, however I agree with you on slicing and shifting clips vs using Audiosnap (on simple fixes) I don’t like stretching audio and avoid it at all costs. Tim is really good with Audiosnap and is probably a lot better than I, but I can always hear stretched audio vs non stretched audio. Maybe it’s in my head 😂
