  1. Sounds nice on my Focal Trio's Eric. Very festive.
  2. Never tried recording myself singing Big Band stuff myself. Any suggestions on what song... I'll give it ago. Also I love the studio too. My dream come true.
  3. Nice Kenny... missed this one in all of the posts-
  4. HI Andrew. I did press play... but its not my thing (Im 57) 🙂 I am sure there are others on here who are more qualified to comment on this genre. Regards, Gary
  5. Thats my tipple too!
  6. Not my vocals 🙂
  7. Erik is an old business friend. When I used to be in the Event Management Business he used to call me in to his hotel (he was conference manager) for large events. We also had a love for singing and used to sing together. He lives about... 4.5 hrs from my house.
  8. WOW!! Thanks so much. Everything I know I have learned from you guys on here. It gets better and better all the time. Thanks again and I really appreciate the listen. Gary
  9. My friend sent me the tracks today and mixed this big band track. (More Live Here) Less Reverb on this track. Your thoughts and opinions welcome as always on how I can improve. Many thanks Gary
  10. Well done Lynn. My apologies @Marcello I didn't read your full post and went straight for the listen. Lynn has given you some great comments. All the best, Gary
  11. The bass is not down the middle... I believe its over in the right speaker?
  12. That Arturia is sweet. I have it... but dont play piano 🙂 What gives me the Atari ST vibe?
  13. Yes I have acted with my voice when doing impersonations etc. I find I am influenced on how I have heard a song before and by which artist has recorded it or others who have sang it. I also fin that my vibrato changes depending on what instruments are used etc. etc. Many of these things are involuntary and we are influenced highly to what we listen too. As a young lad living with my grandparents I used to listen a lot to Jim Reeves, Elvis, Sinatra and pre war stuff. I also find this overlaps over to mixing and mastering. I somehow use a lot of reverb because that's what I was used to in the early 1990s and dont know I am doing it. It was my son who pointed it out to me. Be these things are like fashion "What goes around .. comes around" and keeps changing.
  14. Very nice Fred and thanks for sharing.
  15. It is the low strings and brass: I am impressed with the no midi stuff. 🙂
  16. I have listened to quite a lot of your stuff... this one seems very mechanical ... not real... cant explain what I mean. I understand where you are coming from... seems a little to much false! Sorry... we all paint very different pictures and as you know when we invite people to critically listen to our music we then get critical replies. 🙂 But the average guy in the street wouldn't notice what some of us talk about and would be happy listening on his ear buds or phone 🙂

    my anger

I wanted to leave as the intro was too long and repetitive... but stayed in! interesting use of vocal panning.. too much vocal tune for me though. I don't want to take away from your composition... but its not my genre or sound to listen too. All the best with your music though. Gary
  18. Just given this another listen... grand job!!
  19. A mix of a band I recorded and filmed live.
  20. This was very acoustical experience...
  21. this was quite cool--- good separation in the audio.
  22. Mark.... brilliant. We all paint very different pictures... The snare to me sounds a little trapped... a little more room?? Loved the vocal and the timing and tightness on the instruments. A nice stereo spread on the acoustic guitars and mandolin. Strings could come up a little and the lead guitar is hidden. Just my opinion. Well done mate.
  23. Merry Christmas from Norway! The ORIGINAL home of Father Christmas 🙂 lol
