KSband Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Just finished this one, another jazzy instrumental original. Using my tenor sax, Fishman tripleplay midi guitar for piano, Ezdrummer 3, PJ bass with Amplitube4 SVX Classic plugin. 2
noynekker Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 @KSband Very enjoyable, and a great recording, sax is very breathy and smooth sounding . . . nice change ups throughout ! You have the instruments very out front, I wonder if the drum kit needs a nudge . . . I hear hand percussion blending in very well, but the kit seems in the outback. Great Friday night listen for me, certainly helps take the edge off a long week, merci beaucoup from Canada ! 1
Bajan Blue Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Hi KS Very enjoyable track - mix is good but i do agree I think the drums need a small nudge Cool Nigel 1
KSband Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 @Bajan Blue and @noynekker thanks for listening and the comments. I had a hard time mixing this one, did many mixes. I agree after listening again that the drums do need to come up some, thanks.
KSband Posted May 6, 2023 Author Posted May 6, 2023 Ok I upped the volume on the drums, it does sound better, thanks guys. 2
Johnbee58 Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Very enjoyable and relaxing. The sounds are all well balanced and mixed. I can hear everything. The puppy's hiney is adorable. ?John B 1
Lynn Wilson Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I love those smooth horns and chill arrangement. Your EQ profile is buttery, something I could use more of. This is just the kind of song that I like to listen to at the end of a long, hard day, or seeing my dog or cat in such a predicament 1
KSband Posted May 8, 2023 Author Posted May 8, 2023 Thanks for the comments @Johnbee58 and @Lynn Wilson appreciate it! We miss our little Kona dog, she made to almost 18 so not bad for a dog.
mark skinner Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I missed the first version. This sounds Real smooth and as Lynn said "buttery" . I wish I hadn't read the comments before listening (I normally don't) but , I was really wanting to hear the drums More forward driving the sax. I can't be sure now how I would have felt about the drums and percussion without my attention focused on them. I do think drive and smooth can live together .. Enjoyed your playing .. mark
Keith Wilby Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Not my cup of tea but wow, what superb musicianship and the mix is just sublime. Well done.

bjornpdx Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 So smooth. Wonderful sax tone. Also this is one of those songs where I really notice the bass and appreciate how it contributes to the song. -Bjorn
KSband Posted May 14, 2023 Author Posted May 14, 2023 Thanks much @Makke and @bjornpdx for listening, I'm a guitar player trying to be a bass player but it's fun trying.

FreeEarCandy Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 That's the cream in my coffee. Awesome arrangements and clear as a bell. Sax knocked it out of the park. Much enjoyed!
